  1. I had a Superpro rear ARB kit fitted to my 280/206 Sportline, the Golf R spec version fits and I'm happy with it. I did have to go back to Fulcrum suspension and get the nuts retightened with some loctite after they loosened and it started clunking. On sale currently in Oz from Sparesbox - https://www.sparesbox.com.au/part/superpro-rear-24mm-adjustable-swaybar-and-link-kit-fits-audi-vw-rc0052rz-24kit?gclid=CjwKCAjw9qiTBhBbEiwAp-GE0TXG60vNzkcporVtDGF3bo0xTVsv-mAiCMm2TMkEOS3VAbzroKkLyBoCOXwQAvD_BwE
  2. I took delivery of my MY19 Skoda Superb Sportline (206kw 4x4) in July last year with under 5,000km on the clock and with no evidence of any service history in its previous life as a Skoda corporate vehicle. This car is a long term keeper for me and I intend to look after and modify it to suit my wants and needs, so I had my preferred specialist perform an oil/filter change. I hit 15,000km last week and took it in for its first (and likely only) dealer service, so that I could establish a relationship in case of any warranty issues in the future. I asked which oil they use and the answer was Skoda oil... this didn't reassure me so after some discussion they agreed I could supply my choice of oil (Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200 Engine Oil 5W30) as long as it complied with their approval and specs, which it does. Now that I have the car back from the dealer I have replaced the OEM air filter with an aFE Magnum FLOW Pro 5R Air Filter and fitted the DTE Pedalbox that I got recently. The Pedalbox is great in immediately eliminating the throttle lag and improving pedal response, very happy with this and an easy fit thanks to the tips from others on here who have fitted one previously. Remaining on my to do list is deciding on: a front/rear dash cam setup, improving the air flow from airbox to turbo, a cat back exhaust upgrade and how long I can wait until I upgrade to a Stage 1 tune.
  3. Like JR RS Ivan and others I have replaced the space saver on my Sportline 4x4 with a full sized 235/40/19 spare. Not having a dremel to trim the plastic edge, it does still fit snugly by inserting/lifting the furthest edge of the tyre first when removing/replacing. I had to trim the foam toolholder a fair bit with a long bladed knife so it didn't sit above the tyre edge. I had a flat recently and when placing the tyre back in the boot I knocked and broke the plastic securing thread (the key section at the base sheared off). I ordered a replacement (A$26) but was there was no noticeable movement or noise from the unsecured tyre during this period, likely due to the snug fit. @Newbie69 on mine the key on the mounting screw fits into a raised/domed sheetmetal fitting which sits proud of the boot floor, yours may be the same but I can't tell from your pic. Here is a crappy pic of mine and yes i couldn't be bothered to remove the tyre this time.
  4. @Bap33 could you please point me to your "how to guide" I have searched on here without success. thanks chris
  5. Space saver profile is 70 on 18" against 40 on 19" for the normal full size wheel, I assume that Skoda have this within the acceptable tolerance
  6. Hi TBS, I think you may find answers to your questions in this thread cheers
  7. After learning from another Australian member here (Ope126 ) that Fulcrum Suspensions (SuperPro) in Qld had used his Sportline 206tsi 4x4 as a test bed for certifying the fitting of the Golf R rear arb. I ordered the SuperPro rear ARB kit and had it fitted this week and I'm looking forward to going for a good drive this weekend to see the difference this makes.
  8. I use my mirrors constantly while driving & when raining maybe its the shallow angle of the large rear window that impacts the rear vision. Just received some Rain•X to try for this exact reason.
  9. An interesting idea Paul88, in Australia the rear wiper is nether fitted nor an option on the hatch, I wish it was. The appearance aside, clearer vision is why I would like one. If you come across a re-wiper kit we should talk
  10. I received my June order from SuperSkoda yesterday, this included mud flaps, rear bumper protector, window weather shields and a couple of other items, touch up paint etc. Fitted these yesterday and all good with the exception of the weather shields which cause the front windows to auto re-open each time I try to close. I tried with/without the supplied clips and hold window switch for 5 seconds open/closed this didn't help. So still trying to work out where to go next to resolve this. Pics to follow when the weather allows...
  11. I had a base line dyno run booked for today so I can start with the real at wheel output and rate against the stage 1 next options I am weighing up. The dyno operator commented that it was running at 0.9bar which I take it is low. I will confess i'm not up with turbo technicals, the last time i was modding my cars involved a 12 port head and 3 weber's 😶
  12. The modifications were secondary probably not essential, the first element was can a full size spare fit in the tyre well
  13. Yes. I have a MY19 Sportline hatch with the original 19" vega alloys and 235/40R19 tyres. I found a same sized Skoda alloy rim (not a vega) and tyre from a wrecker which I bought for A$150 to replace the space saver. I had this balanced and it fits tightly in the wheel well although it sat about 25mm higher, I used a long blade to trim the bottom and sides of the polystyrene jack/tool holder to fit within the rim and got some 10mm carpet underlay offcuts free from a local carpet shop. Trimmed and fitted 3 layers of the underlay to level up the boot floor and I'm happy with it. You could trim the plastic lip to ease the fitting but I didn't and It doesn't bother me that the spare looks different to the vega, I hope not to use it often.
  14. On my previous Passat's I could view my phone contacts list on the MFD in the centre of the instrument panel and scroll/select the contact through the steering wheel thumbwheel. On my Superb Sportline (virtual cockpit) it only displays the calls made/received in the instrument panel, and not the contact list which I find pointless. I guess that the voice control is the only way that I can select a contact apart from using the Columbus unit which takes your attention away from the road. I'm now thinking I may have to rename the contacts in my mobile to include surnames instead of my random abbreviations (Paul J Paul Ja, Sharon A Sharon H etc.) to use voice control effectively. Has anyone worked out if you can change the calls made list to contacts in the instrument panel or come up with another practical option, or am I the only dummy who abbreviates my contact list 🤪
  15. In the last little while 14/7 - I had my 2018 My19 Sportline 280 delivered (demo with <5,000km), this one is to be a long term keeper for me. 15/7 - replaced the space saver with a used full sized 19" alloy and tyre from a 2017 wreck 21/7 - Serviced by my specialist shop @ 5,300km, revised engine coding to Audi and replaced the OEM brake pads with ATE ceramics 22/7 - System X Diamond super slick ceramic paint coating applied to body & wheels Today head off on a 1,200 km round trip for a drive to visit a mate on some quiet country roads and explore the cars capabilities 😇 30/7 - OEM towbar to be fitted by the dealer Then I can move to source a rear ARB likely with some Eibach springs and prioritise next steps Happy days Cheers chris
  16. Thanks for the feedback @LordRichards. You fitted the H&R which would likely be my preference if I could buy a rear arb rather than the full F&R kits from H&R or Eibach F&R. The clearance unknown was mentioned in relation to the Whiteline or SuperPro rear arb specced for the Golf R, which are available as a rear only (and some are on sale in Oz) Are you able to share the supplier in UK you used and $ and how long delivery took? I have a few minor bits and pieces ordered from SuperSkoda and tracking suggests they are still in Czech after nearly 4 weeks so far 😞
  17. The exhaust clearance for the arb, one of the suspension specialists I spoke with said this was the unknown to him with the SuperPro & Whiteline arb & why buying one would be at my risk. I dont know enough to know if this is a real issue or not.
  18. Thanks for the response @newbie69, I have read that thread in full already thanks and noted that you fitted the Audi top mounts. When you say the 206 shares the rear suspension with the Golf R and they fit, I take it you are saying that they also share the same exhaust so no clearance issues, is that right?
  19. Thanks for your reply shyVRS245, that sounds interesting. I had a look at the AmD website which says "There’s no replacement chip, and we don’t touch the ECU itself giving you piece of mind." so do I take it that this means they are saying the tune they apply also don't leave a trace in the ECU memory and are not detectable by a dealer?
  20. Hi all, i'm a new member who has joined to learn from the experience and knowledge of others who have tried and proven some of the modifications I hope to apply to my newly acquired Sportline 206tsi. I have read with interest all the above and spoken with a couple of suspension specialists about fitting a rear ARB. To date I have only been able to find full F&R ARB kits from H&R and Eibach in Australia that are verified to fit a Skoda Superb. I would prefer to just fit a rear one based on the experience of those who have contributed to this thread. I may wait a bit to follow the outcomes of the SuperPro bars that are being fitted by @freeglide and @ope126 to confirm the fit and correct part numbers, as the specialists I spoke with said that neither Whiteline or SuperPro specified an ARB that would fit my car, and if I ordered one it was at my risk. I was also thinking of fitting Eibach Pro springs, but was advised that was not recommended as it would reduce bump stop travel after I mentioned I intended doing some towing including a camper trailer of up to 1500kg. Does that sound correct? thanks in advance regards chris
  21. Hi all, i'm a new member who has just bought a 2018 (MY19) Sportline 206 tsi hatch with ~5000km on the clock, after owning 2 Passats. I am interested in making some improvements to my car with some midrange power and handling upgrades. One thing that intrigues me is the reference by @newbie69 to adding JB4 tuning while maintaining the warranty. Is this unique to Sweden or more generally in Europe or other markets? My understanding is that here in Australia this mod would void the warranty and I would be interested in discussing this issue with VGA (Volkswagen Group Australia) if there was some documentation to support the stance taken in other markets. I greatly appreciate the experience and expertise of contributors to this forum Regards chris Hi all, i'm a new member who has just bought a 2018 (MY19) Sportline 206 tsi hatch with ~5000km on the clock, after owning 2 Passats.
