The discs and pads were actually really good although a bit pinkish after the heat buildup. After retracting the caliper im convinced it is the cause. Gonna ordee new caliper in the morning and see how it goes. Wont change disca and pads just yet as they look good.

I did just that. Greased the slider pins and pad lobes after wire brushing everything down. Caliper went back okayish was a bit stiff then pedal pumped it out 3 pumps and this time was really hard to wind back. It did seem to cure after the test drive. My head still cant get round the wobble. Lets see how it goes tomorrow

I think you might be right. Went out and took the wheel off and can't see anything out of place. It is intermittent and not constant though. Went for a drive after putting wheel back on and it was fine but just pulled onto driveway definitely felt binding again. Will order a caliper in the morning

Hi all I hit a couple of potholes a few days ago. Yesterday noticed as i approached a traffic light car crawled itself and i got a wobble. Thought damn i have a puncture. Checked it over and tyres were fine. Checked pressure this morning and all were bang on. Now all of a sudden was totally fine on the way to tescos and then got the wobble again and wobble remained at any speed. Pulled over checked wheel nuts they were fine but noticed burning smeel and heat from osf. Is this a simple seized caliper or does it sound like a wobbly bearing perhaps. Can't understand the wobble bit

Mmm. Yes me Neither and ive been a cabbie for 20 years. I only bought this superb 6 months ago so hoping its as good my older cars. I see suspension is nice and easy, brakes etc. Twindoor boot has issues but ive sussed that all out. I bought vagcom as well. Mines the 170 bhp which has crap mpg but only realised after buying it. Im scared of flywheel and clutch issues otherwise its a nice motor

Any ideas on how to adjust the bootlid. Mine needs a serious slam to get it to seat and soft close. More of a gap on the left above tail lights when not properly closed.

Hi just plugged computer in and got B10be07 front fresh air blower fault. Wipers are fine now🙄 And head unit still dead. Battery did need a jump start, but seems ok. No damp patches

For some strange reason started car after month or so today and initially wipers worked, then noticed head unit not on tried switching on but it wouldn't then noticed heater blower not working either. The head unit doesn't even light up with lights on, so appears dead. Climatronic lights up and responds to fan speed up but no response from blower. And the wiper stalk isnt working either. Any udeas anyone. Parked it up a month ago totally fine

Another week another misery noticed my reverse lights are not coming on and neither are the rear gfogs coming on, which are both integrated into same unit. have opened wiring loom in the side of the tailgate no rips or breaks, but upon testing at connector for those lights im not getting any volts to either reverse or fogs either!!! any ideas if they have a fuse as i cant find any info on there being a fuse for just the bootlid

Hi all hope someone can help, was thinking of going the old traditional route of adding an amplifier to stock head unit and speakers. nothing fancy just a bit more oomph. Was hoping to tap into rear of head unit and take high level outputs into a line output converter into an amp and the back to headunit outputs. I cant see an amplifier under the seats either so hoping this is gonna be an easy one? otherwise i may just tap into rear speaker outputs through a line out converter and run a small sub also I have noticed clipping and distortion from the speakers at mild volume levels, and remember someone mentioning its the crossover behind the tweeters causing that. I have an old pair of component speakers from the days, which have a passive crossover, could i just wire in the crossovers and solve this issue?

Does anyone know if i press button on the right of the bootlid to make boot open in hatch mode and then disconnect motors while open, will this work in making the car hatch mode all the time? Much prefer hatch mode all the time as opposed to saloon mode

It will be a broken wire somewhere in the loom under the left side of the bootlid plastic by the glass

Hi I have just noticed my speakers are clipping and distorting when volume is approaching 30%ish. I have read previously on here that its the crossover on the tweeter causing the issue. Really not wanting to dig deeper and have to change the speakers as I will end up buying an amp as well, if i buy a pair of crossovers and use them on the original speakers will that solve the issue. Any help with wiring will be much appreciated.

Hi Sorry to revive and old topic. I have a 2012 superb and surprise surprise i have clipping at medium volumes. Am I right in thinking if im to buy a pair of passive crossovers and just disconnect the resistor behind the tweeter and connect main speaker wiring to the crossover and tweeter i will have eliminated the clipping abd distortion issue?
