  1. Of course, there is always two sides to any coin. I suppose the pros outweigh the cons of having GPS though?
  2. I am "reflecting" on this... Excuse the mirror pun...
  3. So quite possibly there may be features on mine and my wife's cars with the mirrors that we aren't even aware of? This is becoming sadly exciting on my Saturday morning , thanks for the info.
  4. Ironic fact, the guy he bought it off was called "Chris Tian", he offers radio disconnects in the name of the Lord jesus christ... And a £50 service fee of course... Holy work is expensive
  5. 100% no, they look awful. For me it is the same with the Citroën Cactus, those plastic door panels?! I'd rather have someone open their door on my car and dent it than have those awful looking plastic panels 750x423-concept-car-citroen-cactus-design-pur.35828.73.webp
  6. What does it do though? As when I get the right mirror in place it puts my left mirror completely out
  7. This is a simple issue but one that I just can't get to the bottom of... My Mrs Seat Leon recently started doing this thing where when you move the left mirror it will only move the left mirror, but when you set the electric dial to the right mirror it will move them both. Just thought that it had some sort of glitch. My Skoda Octavia does the exact same thing now. I don't understand whether this is supposed to be something for a reason or whether it is just a coincidence that the two cars we own now both do it. I know both Skoda and Seat use similar electric components.
  8. This is why I love this forum. My Octavia done this for the first time today, smelt hot rubber, loud fan after pulling onto my drive and it felt hot outside my driver door. Felt a little bit panicky that something wasn't right. However reading this has completely put me at ease. Many thanks all.
  9. This would make perfect sense, thanks for pointing this out as I had no idea they could do this.
  10. I have this at the moment. Oil change message on trip screen keeps coming up but it definitely isn't due a change. 53500 miles, 63 Plate, last service was exactly a year ago so I wouldn't have thought it would have come on according to the every 2 year recommended oil change or every 20,000 miles. Booked it in for a service which will clear it but never expected to see it come on in its current circumstances. It is amazing how one small message and beep everytime you start your car/ turn off your car can drive you so INSANE.
  11. There is another thread for posting pictures but from what I can see in this thread you can post your thoughts and a few pics alongside specifying what you own.
  12. I have to say this whole discussion is one of the most interesting reads. The facts and information you guys are pulling into this is so juicy 🤩.
  13. I would try talking to Skoda, you never know and have nothing to lose by doing so. You've really already laid your only probable and sensible options out, try fixing it if you feel it is worth it or if not, PXing it. Would you be willing to start with the cheapest of the two (exhaust cooler at £400) and if that fails then go for the gasket? Even having to do both totals by your figures £1200, still £800 value in your car after that.
  14. This makes sense, thanks very much both.
  15. I have never owned a dash cam so this my seem like an ignorant question but where does having GPS on one come in handy? Is it if the car should get stolen? I'm considering getting one but want to make sure I get one with what's important.
  16. Maybe he has the Skoda Yeti, which would explain the hairy and matted feeling 😉. It does sound like a clutch chirp, but it's just where he mentioned it only happens in the wet to begin with.
  17. Are you getting any water on the belt when it rains? The noise tends to only last a few seconds and is obviously exclusive to wet weather.
  18. Where does it sound like the noise is coming from? Is it definitely only is wet conditions?
  19. Apart from feeling that it is probably connected to the clutch pedal can you feel any other differences with the car?
  20. As someone who has had an astra I would like to say you are absolutely and absurdly... Correct hahaha
  21. Proud owner of Skoda Octavia 105 SE 1.6TDCi Mkiii. I think these cars look great and perform great from an economic point. Only changes I will be making is tinted rear windows, wind deflectors and possibly door handle lights. The kit these cars come with is enough to make any short or long journey comfortable and the storage space blows my mind... I've gone from stacking my boys buggy in the boot of our Seat Leon to laying the whole lot out in the boot of the Octavia. Hopefully will have some updated pictures for you all after the windows are done on 14th September.
  22. You assume correct bigade, I am running Windows 10. Fingers crossed what you have said about the folder will be the solution, so just to make sure I have it right it is the folder within the folder named "Maps"? Not the actual folder named "Maps"?
