http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/YETI/Wind-Rain-deflectors/ I bought the dark ones from there, along with the b-pillar covers.

That dealer uses same wallpaper in all their locations (different floor). Unfortunately weather outside does not look as good right now.

..one year later. In the end I owned the Yeti just a bit over a year. One month ago I traded it to Kia Soul EV to further reduce my commuting costs. Diesel has gone from 1.2€/l to 2.1€/l in one year, I am now paying installments on the EV that are less than just fuel costs were before. As I said to a friend of mine... "oh, so it looks like _that_ when it's clean". Pictures are from the dealer's ad, I saved them just for fun. One year, roughly 30'000km commuting, no big repairs. During last summer I added B-pillar covers, wind deflectors and extra led lights. All in all, I am very happy with the car, 10/10 would buy again Some people don't like how the Soul looks like but hey... to me it felt quite natural If only they made it in 4wd too...
  4. Like already said, that corrosion happens in days. If you look at the brake discs after rainy weather, there can be rust spots even after one day. It is nothing to worry about, rust like that wears out during driving. My second car spent last 4 months in the car park and its brakes got a little rusty too. So bad that it didn't really stop when I stepped on the brake pedal couple first times.
  5. I have Waze on everytime I drive, even when I dont have a route planned. I can see streets ahead of me if traffic is slowing down or halted. Also it warns me of accidents, speed traps and other obstacles. Data is user generated.
  6. Regarding front lights in general. I found these, when I was looking for other things http://www.kopacek.com/images/Svetla/t10-mega-yet7.jpg http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/YETI/Yeti-MEGA-POWER-LED-position-light-bulbs-KI-R For the DRL lights, P13W led should work Pictures here: https://www.obautodily.cz/skoda-yeti-led-zarovka-p13w-do-denniho-svicenni-super-led-1-kus-4951cz2412/ Same bulb has been used for example in B7 A4 drl lights. For the fog lights, my local car parts guy recommended H7 Philips Ultinon bulbs. I don't think any of those would pass inspections, since they are led and look nice...
  7. I think the logic is that nobody usually drives while bonnet is open, therefore wipers are allowed to work even if bonnet sensor doesn't function.
  8. Modern problems need modern solutions. Air suspension - just slam your car on the ground when you park, jack wont fit and they will target some other car instead They are not obviously going to do any hard work in the first place.
  9. Would it be wiser to install speedo with both km and mph? I would think it was an option for Yeti? This is also why I thought it would be a direct swap in the first place. I assume your car is left hand drive, so having km too would be beneficial in future when you sell the vehicle. Just an idea
  10. would replacing that plastic speedo disc from any junkyard yeti speedo work? Sure, it might be more work than garage originally planned.
  11. That makes sense. I guess I need to have that key then. No wonder the towbar looks like it has been there for last 5 years, probably the previous owner didn't had the key either.
  12. This seems like a topic with people who know certain things... How does the detachable tow bar come off? Manual says that instructions are provided with the tow bar itself. That was 11 years ago. I tried all kinds of friendly moves when I changed to summer tyres but I didn't want to resort to violence yet. I'd hate to break something just because I'm twisting it wrong way somehow.
  13. I almost went for Seat Arona 1.0 TGI when I was looking for different cars. Eventually I got to my senses and bought a 4WD Yeti. Seat would have been almost new and twice the price of (2010) Yeti, CNG/petrol powered but no 4WD option. There was a sweet FR trim one for sale back then and it was tempting
  14. I have been a happy Waze user for few years now.
  15. I think the cause was parking disc and flashlight that I have in the door pocket. Usually they are wedged together to avoid rattle but sometimes they do come loose. At least I hope so, if it was something else I might have to wait until next winter to find out.
  16. I understand, so it was a temperature thing.
  17. Today morning was -16C and I can now confirm something goes brr brr brr somewhere in the dashboard. For now I fixed it by turning up radio volume. I don't think I've heard or noticed it before but it hasn't been this cold before either during my ownership of this car. So it could be temperature related or I just haven't paid attention to it before I read this topic... Damnit.
  18. My A4 has currently "something" in the air duct. I've seen it once thru driver side vent, it looked like a piece of circuit board. It moves from left to right and back depending on how hard turns I make. And rattles every now and then. Annoying. Once weather warms up enough I'll take the air filter out and try to see if I can reach it that way.

You would want a compressor fridge, they use much less electricity compared to other types. I have this: https://www.camping-adventure.eu/produkt/kompressor-kuehlbox-40l/ (I did buy it locally, cost me around 250€ two years ago) I had it in my T5 Transporter, as a 40L box it is quite a big one to store in a Yeti... I haven't tried to fit it in yet. They do make smaller ones too, size just wasn't an issue when I bought one. As a leisure battery I have been thinking about those called as "solar generator" or "portable power station" (check Amazon for examples). Basically it is a battery in a box, with an inverter and several outputs built in. Get one that you can charge from 12V output in car while driving and also with a solar panel at camp. Charge it at home before you go camping. That kind of is my plan, if I ever get this thing called vacation.

I got the Yeti back last week. It has been running nicely since then. Heating issue was fixed. A simple VCDS check would have revealed the problem in the first garage if they had one: both temperature sensors in the air vents (or something like that) were faulty and showed about +85C temperature inside cabin. One day to find the issue at official dealer, one day to fix it. Between those two days: ~2,5 weeks to replacement parts arrive. The engine warning lights etc were probably all because something froze. Official dealer fitted top grille cover (they did not have bottom cover in stock) and they will bill the car dealer for it, suits me fine I have to remember to order bottom cover before next winter. Now there is still the light cluster fix and some painting left, which the car seller has agreed to pay. My friend noticed that passenger door is sagging a bit, that probably is nothing alarming and I hope it can be fixed by adjusting. I also ordered a cargo net for the parcel shelf, seems like a good place to store small shovel and snow brush for now.

This explains it best. I would rather drive on the limit with worse front tyres than unexpectedly lose control in the rear end. Difference is that in the video control is lost at slow speeds. With worn rear winter tyres same happens but at higher speed, for example driving 80kph into a slight curve. Regarding the heater problem, I left my car at the dealer on friday. First day result is simple (the previous garage should invest to VCDS..) temperature sensors in both left and right air vents showed around +84C readings. Unfortunately for me, they had none at stock so Yeti will stay there. When I drove Yeti to the dealer, outside temp was about -20C and the preheating warning light started flashing, in the middle screen it said contact service or something. Also there were smell of oil when I stopped at red light. According to the dealer, there were two issues found when they scanned fault codes. First an EGR error and second a throttle flap (whatever it is in english...) stuck, which might have been frozen when I drove. My old A6 (3.0tdi ASB) had the flap mechanism broken once, the gears are plastic and teeth were sheared off. I wonder if Yeti has similar construction and it could be rather easily checked? Idea is of course that if it was actually broken before I bought the car, seller pays the repair. Same for the EGR, mechanic will check it next week and most probably it is also seller's problem. I have a feeling that he is not going to profit too much on this particular sale.

We play by different rules here, summer tires are illegal in winter conditions anyways. I have two complete sets, one for summer and the winter tires I currently have in place. I don't think the garage would swap wheels front to back though, so I have to do it later myself (I want new tires in the rear).

If only it would rise high enough Seat at the lowest position and arm rest at highest, there is still like a 5cm gap between my elbow and the arm rest. I've had couple B6 A4:s and a C6 A6, I had no problems with the arm rests in those. Easy to find good driving position.

Car is still at the garage, although the reason is timing. I could have picked it up at wednesday but then there is another hassle to take it back when new windshield arrives. When I booked the service I was not aware of that this particular garage could also fit new windshield. TPMS error has been fixed and I have two new winter tires. I have also booked new appointment at official Skoda dealer here for next friday so they can take a look at the heating issue. I got the permission from the dealer to do so since the garage dealer usually uses could not fix it. Once all this is done, I still take the car for the painter at dealers expense. I almost feel sorry for the guy who sold me the car. Almost.

That is the main issue and why dealer told me to take car to that specific garage. It has now been around 0 to +2C, I wouldn't dare to think how cold it would have been two weeks ago when temps were at -26 or so. It should be getting colder within a week, so I hope this gets fixed by then or I "have" to drive quattro to work again. My old VW T5 had similar issue, until the system was bled for air properly. This summer the engine was replaced, guess if there were any warm air coming after that? There are multiple possible answers. I hope guys find the correct one tomorrow.
