  1. Like anything else it’s horses for courses. we have a Kodiaq and a MG ZS EV in our household. 99% of our journeys are done in the MG, it’s great for my wife’s 10 mile commute, and ferrying the kids about to where they need to go and general pootling about at weekends. if we are going away anywhere whether it’s down to England or up to the Highlands that’s where the Kodiaq steps in and does it’s job. the infrastructure is nowhere near there for the majority of people to use EVs as their sole or primary mode of transport but it will get better. as usual on the internet, it’s full of people who think the entire concept is trash because it wouldn’t fit their needs, but everyone has different needs for what they want or need their car to do. If you never leave the city and have a drive, an EV even at current infrastructure is perfect, even with rising electricity costs it’s still cheaper than ICE to run and easy to maintain.
  2. I had a 45 minute or so drive today, had the wheel turned on the whole time, with the little picture showing on VC etc, zero heat then eventually after about 30-35 mins in the warning light came on displaying the error
  3. When it’s switched on, it automatically is set to full power, but nothing happens on setting 1 or 2 either
  4. I had my new Kodiaq Sportline delivered yesterday, very happy with it except I appear to have a fault when I hit the button for the heated steering wheel nothing happen, the messages come on the dash telling me its on but zero heat emits. only done short journeys so far and I have once had an error message pop up telling me there is a fault. is this a fault anyone else has had? will be passing by a dealership tomorrow so will pop in, knowing Škoda in my experience, I’ll end up having to wait weeks until it can be looked at
  5. The colour is stunning, came very close to getting the grey after seeing it in the showroom, but glad I went for blue Liking the VC much more than I thought I would too, much more customisable than the one in my old Octavia, just took me a while to work out how to fully customise it as on the Octavia it’s all done on the steering wheel and not through the main screen!
  6. My 1.5 Sportline arrived today, not far off a year to the day since it was ordered, which worked out perfectly for me as my old lease was ending in late October 2022, banked on the car being about 3 months late and there was only 3 days between the old one going and new one coming in the end. It’s not moved yet but I’ve had a good play about with it, usual stuff, fitting all the rubber mats and boot tray etc as well as configuring all the settings to my requirements. Love how it looks, the inside is a very nice place to be. Last Friday I returned a 2020 Octavia Estate SE Technology and the Kodiaq is a much, much nicer place to be. I ordered the family and front heat pack both of which look like they’ll come in very handy, I love the little plastic bits that appear when you open the doors. The Skoda wording that appears on the pavement is also a nice touch, and the kids will find the window blinds very handy. like a previous contributor, I neither ordered or paid for the Virtual Cockpit and was expecting the new 8.0” display but much to my pleasant surprise it arrived with a VC, which was especially pleasing as it was literally the one feature the Octavia had that I was expecting the Kodiaq not to.
  7. That doesn’t look bad at all, looks much better there than it does on the Skoda website! I have a VC in my current Octavia and only ever have it on the setting which replicates dials and never use the map screen etc so this set up will be fine!
  8. Has anyone had one delivered with the new standard 8.0” screen instead of dials in the dash?
  9. I've noticed this, a few months ago, I managed to drive from Edinburgh to the Isle of Skye (190 odd miles) before the fuel indicator stopped showing 'full', and it only took me another 30 miles after that to lose another light
  10. I had this and it was only after I swapped out the batteries on both keys the warning message stopped coming up. No idea why.
  11. This is exactly the one I was contemplating, it looks to have the best of both worlds, will pop along to local dealer to see if they have any in stock to get a look at. I notice that on the brochure its £83 but £99 on Skoda Parts Direct.
  12. I am relatively shortly expecting my Sportline to be delivered and I am wondering what would be the best Skoda boot mat to have. I’ve currently got a 2020 Octavia estate and the plastic boot tray I have in that is fantastic. I was looking at something similar for the incoming Kodiaq However, I’ve seen the reversible mat with the split for the third row and saw someone had it on an old thread on here when the Kodiaq was still a new model. I was wondering whether that mat was any good or whether I would be better going for one of the conventional trays
  13. Update from Nationwide yesterday, build date moved forward by a week from 05/09 to 29/08 guessing the vehicle should be ready for me to receive in mid-October-ish?
  14. Last service was in September, next one is booked for about two weeks time! I put in VW508 In an update, I left the engine running with the bonnet up and it seems to have rectified itself thankfully. It’s done 17500 miles, I should have checked the oil level more regularly but just one of these things that wasn’t gotten round to
  15. I added a litre and the level in the dipstick shows at the top of the hatchings
  16. Started the car up this afternoon to be presented with a yellow/ amber warning light and a message advising me to add oil with ‘you can drive on’ at the end. opened bonnet, checked oil and sure enough, the oil was near the minimum amount. drove 30 miles down the road (currently in the Outer Hebrides, so that was my closest place to get any), bought some oil and topped up when I got back to our holiday home. now the oil level is perfectly acceptable but the warning light comes on still. does this light need re-set or will it just go off after a while? I’ve done approx 3-5 miles in the car since topping up
  17. Same as me! I am 1.5 Sportline, winter pack + family pack
  18. Who did you order the car through? Mine has been slotted in for build 05/09, again that slot suits me down to the ground, sounds perverse but hoping I don’t get moved forward
  19. That was an absolutely fascinating watch! who knew that how you display your suit jacket was such an important way to display your status, as well as the status importance of being in a 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0. Company cars in general are a dying breed, my organisation have just informed a few older staff that they are having to theirs removed next March and are switching to a car allowance as has been the case for new starts for a few years now. any sales reps I have ever come into contact with had Passat’s and it’s probably one of the few saloons left that’s not true premium brand. I did feel sorry for the rep who cried with his wife about being given a Maestro! thanks for sharing!
  20. It’s still listed on the standard equipment list for the Sportline on the Skoda website. the list has been updated for MY23 as it lists the 8inch screen in lieu of dials
  21. the photos do show a small screen where the dials would be though!
  22. I agree given all the problems sourcing electrical items, I thought analogue dials would have been kept! it looks a bit odd in the picture, will have to wait to see it in the flesh to get a good gauge but not sure I like it I have a VC in my 2020 Octavia Estate just now, and spend all of my time in itwith the traditional dial set up on it, so wasn't fussed about going back to actual dials
  23. Having a look at the Skoda website and seen the spec list for Sportline, does below mean that the virtual cockpit is now standard? Edit here is the pic from the interior, it looks like a screen has replaced dials but not quite same as VC
  24. For the past 6 weeks or so my build week has been slated in for 12/09, but I got an email from Nationwide Vehicle Contracts today to advise it was now penciled in for 05/09. was very surprised to see it move forward, was expecting the opposite of nothing else. time will tell if this target is to be met
  25. For about the last week or so I have been getting the replace key battery warning on my 2020 SE Tech estate, same message when using either key. Went into dealer and had one of the key batteries replaced as I was passing and yet the message persists. has anyone else had this problem? had a few electrical gremlins lately such as, a couple times last week the door speakers seemed to die for a few mins then came back on as randomly as they went off only thing that’s happened to the car was the windscreen being replaced but wouldn’t have associated that having an electrical impact
