  1. The noise just sounds the same and the belt was changed last year no slipping. Exciter wire is that the big thick black wire?

  3. This week my battery light started to come on and off. I have a brand new battery holding a good charge. The alternator charging at 14.5v which is all good. Just seeing what other things it could be? Skoda fabia 1.4 tdi. Thanks.
  4. I've also noticed a bit more power now so that very small leak makes a big difference.
  5. I've fitted the new fuel pipe and the leak stopped now good news.
  6. Does anybody know what this fuel inlet does? Does it have any seals or gaskets? I'm just asking this as I will be changing the rubber pipe but also in case it could be this part as well.

  8. Hello I've noticed a small black fuel hose pipe getting damp. I've cleaned it up and it seems to be leaking from that small pipe. These pipes can you still buy them? The fuel inlet part do these leak at all much? Skoda fabia 1.4 tdi Thanks
  9. I'm looking for a front driver side seat belt due to it fraying and the material starting to come of on the edges. There don't seem to be many driver side front seat belts around for sale skoda fabia mk1. I had the same problem on my peugeot but managed to change that one.
  10. Check the tyre pressures, , suspension springs are not broken, tracking. I always put new tyres on the front if the tyres are low and going for tracking. You know then the tracking done and the new tyres any wear you know right away.
  11. 1 of my front plates started making a noise the next thing few of down the road. I went to have a look and it got flatten over a few times. The both sides are missing now but makes very little difference.
  12. What a amazing difference in starting the car now in cold and warm weather. The battery was worth it in the end plenty of power.
  13. So can the connection be removed or cleaned? I'm only repairing it my self as the cost of paying to repair not worth it and the job easy to do.

  16. Hello I've notice the aircon connector where you refill the ball bearing part with gas has small air bubbles coming out. So is there anything good I can use to clean the ball bearing filler? The next option can you detach the filler part from the metal pipe and are there any replacements? Thanks
  17. Hello I've gone from the original steel wheels 13inch to alloy wheels 15inch now that came with 195 55 15 tyres. I'm thinking of getting 195 50 15 these should fit ok? Thanks

  20. Hello I'm trying to sort out my Skoda Fabia cigarette lighter socket. It's faulty so the socket needs changing . I'm needing to know there 3 wires coming out just trying to work out what the 3 connect to - + and the 3rd. 3 Wires Large size There brown? Large Black and white? Smaller purple and white? Thanks
  21. I fixed the window problem I must of forgot to post back on here. I checked the loom in front of the gearbox there was 1 or 2 wires broken frayed against the gearbox. So I cut the wires and re joined with a wiring block then insulation tape over it. I then had spare pipe insulation for copper pipes on a house. I cut a small piece of this and put it around the connection to keep it cover more and to stop it rubbing against the gear box. This fixed the window problems and it also solved the charging problem now charges at 14.5v it used to jump about before. It' been 5 months and the charging and windows work fine now. Thanks for the help all down to these small wires in front of the gearbox.
  22. The octavia vrs cr do they all have the dsg gear boxes or some without? The dsg gearboxes are these better then the standard gearboxes and is there much difference? Thanks
  23. The CR that engine a common rail diesel engine? Do the CR engines have dpf or add blue? I didn't know there was a CR common rail diesel rail version that's a big bonus to know that for sure. Thanks
  24. The Skoda Octavia mk2 Vrs tdi pd 170 these engines reliable, easy to fix and service? What sort of mpg people getting with there cars? What things do you need to look out for on these cars problems wise? I still have my skoda fabia 1.4 tdi and peugeot 306 hdi. I'm looking for anther 3rd car something to maybe join these more refined sports upgrade diesel. Thanks
