  1. I was thinking of replacing my headlamps as they do look easy to replace. But I opted to clean them up in the end which made them look like brand new again.
  2. Hello who are people using for a replacement rear wiper blades skoda fabia mk1 direct fitment or universal ones? Thanks
  3. Do you have pictures of the mats? thanks
  4. Hello Where are people buying the genuine or copy fitments car mats skoda fabia mk1 for the best prices? Thanks
  5. I did both my sills sanded them down with a drill wire brush to the metal. Then red oxide paint 1 or 2 coats. Then next wax oil seal and the sills are like new now no rust. I did the same in the boot tyre well area around one of the drains. Then other bits on arches. The main bits you see on the car I painted after colour matching paint. I will see if I can find pictures but there no rust now cleared most of it up now. Then once in awhile any small spots I re treat its 98% to 99% better then it was cleared a lot up. I've been doing this to cars for years and it works well and lasts.
  6. I do a lot of traveling so things on the cars need to be right. These pipes are bulging and around the clips even worse. They will go at any point soon I would rather fix them up before that happens to be honest. I got a few options to think about here depending if there low pressure and high pressure pipes. I could get hydraulic pipes made rubber ones with the correct ends to match depending on the price. I might ask some local firms to see how much. The original pipes any idea where these both can be bought brand new for the best prices? Thanks
  7. Once the headlights are cleaned up and uv protection put on this makes a big difference just like you seen. The key thing cleaning up the correct way but having the uv protection after.
  8. Mine had to be re winded back they where solid to move. I wasn't using bars or anything else end up damaging rubbers. There sometimes easy to push back but when doing these 2 it wasn't that easy.
  9. Stage 2 polish the headlamps in circular motions until you see them starting to look like original again with the polish and mop head. Then wipe of clean of the polish with a rag or paper and make sure all it cleaned of. Stage 3 add the clear UV restorer in layers the liquid with the spunge across the headlamps until you see the layers look correct and remove any over spills. This is the result below amazing like brand new if you do it correctly.
  10. Wash headlamps clean then once dry masking up headlamps where needed avoid paint work. So use plenty of water when sanding down and not to pressure to hard. Stage 1 sanding down in different grades of sand paper using lowest first then the middle then the highest last and the results stage by stage.
  11. I've done a quick guide to help people save time and money not needing to change your headlamps. Your Headlamp may need restore fixing with foggy patchy look which blocks the light and will cause Mot advise or fail. I've tried and tested sanding and toothpaste it only works so much and will not last long term. So if you want the job done properly which will last a long time and have amazing new looks for your headlamps buying this kit. I did my skoda fabia and peugeot 306 with amazing results. Just ignore the brake caliper kit on the left. The kit on the right called Simply headlamp restore kit which you need for this job. It comes complete with sanding discs, spunge, mop, handle masking tape, polish and uv protection and full guide easy to follow paper sheet. I paid £9.99 got a good deal on it.
  12. I've added some pictures of the pipes
  13. The pipes the paint come of and bulging in places rust bad its either the paint or both pipe and paint. I will try get some pictures they don't look to good if you tried to move them they would snap or leak for sure.
  14. When checking my skoda fabia 1.4 tdi 2006 I noticed both power steering metal pipes coming out of the steering res bottle both very rusty and will need replacing. I'm looking at options are these both low, high pressure or a mix? I was thinking of maybe rubber hoses or braided if anybody does those. Thanks
  15. I fitted the new front discs and pads yesterday they all fit on well and a big difference in the braking. I used red rubber grease and re greased the slider guides big difference the car stops in a straight line. I also cleaned the caliper and carriors with wire brush and screw divers flat ones. This is to remove dirt, brake dust and old metal to stop any going on the new brakes effecting them or getting between any parts. It's well worth cleaning up a bit and doing the red rubber grease as with age needs doing. I did buy a 21 kit brake caliper rewind kit it makes it so much easier to do the job now no messing about. The old pads were very low and old discs warn a bit to so had to rewind both brake calipers back a lot. This is where the brake caliper rewind kit saves a lot of time and messing about.
  16. I got the green plastic clips they work great holding the door card on. The rivets I decided to use my own slightly smaller so drilled holes next to the bigger ones already there. So I just filled silicon in the old bigger holes. I just thought I got a big box of rivets 300 to 500 may as well get use out of them and it works fine.
  17. I managed to fix the one I had something got trapped between the seat and the catch. I open the catch with a screw driver then removed the lever switch nothing wrong with that and refitted. It's good as new thanks for the help it was just trapped in the end.
  18. Where do they sell these online any places you know of? thanks
  19. Hello I went to open the rear seat handle to open the back seats to get inside the boot. The handle just come up loose but wont open the back seat now on one side. There a easy way to fix this and to get in to the handle to try fix it. Thanks
  20. Hello The Skoda fabia door rivets what size are those I had to drill them out to fit a new window regulator? It's so I can get the metal panel tight back to the door. The white plastic door clips that clip the door card back in place what size are needed? Due to some breaking when removing the door card. Thanks
  21. This has some good detailed information and things you can check and try. https://www.howacarworks.com/accessories/identifying-and-suppressing-radio-interference
  22. The altanator and wiring can cause problems with radio and amplifiers. I've seen this over the years with people putting in custom stereo, speakers and amplifiers. The problem goes away with the engine of but soon as the engine running the problem starts.
  23. Try the radio with the engine switched off and with the engine switched on this will help eliminate a few problems to see if there any difference.
