hi mate i test drove the new toyota corolla 2.0 and the new type cvt gearbox was absolutely brilliant at another level compared to anythink what comes out of the vag group

its a 3 year old 6 speed

what are the main companies that do this, i am in no rush buying this car if he sells it he sells it i dont care really,. i will just keep looking, i have my trusty berlingo van as my daily runabout

thanks everyone i will sleep on it and decide what i am going to do, ive noticed the manuals are a lot cheaper and what i understand they are super reliable, but ive drove them for 35 years i want to move on .

i have heard the vag dsg boxes do that, but are there any reliability issues with this unit.

thanks for that as far as you know is this dq250 gearbox a reliable dsg and is it nice and smooth.

just done a bit of checking the dq250, dq381, and the dq500 all have wet clutches and have to be serviced every 3 years or 38k-40k miles is this right?

i might buy a superb estate silver 150ps diesel, SE-L it has a 6 speed dsg, why is it not a 7 speed ?

if you look at the videos close up one guy cleans the sludge of the bottom of the filter housing and there is nothing in the bottom that could hold on to a filter they are just a smooth aluminum cylinder ....i am intrigued to see how you get on....michael.

hi delon the videos i have seen shows it's a really easy job, but that is something that would happen to me also, maybe drain the fuel out with a siphon pipe or syringe it out, and then have a good look at whats stopping it sliding out, by the way what car and engine is it...michael.

sorry for getting back late sash, i want a 2.0 diesel 150ps i think there the best engine for mpg and pulling power, and as for click and collect thats basically what i did with the leicester balls up, i still havent had my 150 pound road tax back off dvla yet, i have to drive a car before i buy it its my retirement pressy to myself so i dont want to buy a lemon there is a cracker that ticks all the boxes in cornwall its the only private sale on autotrader for 17.500k have a look, but its a monumental journey tho, oh i will defo come to banger to get some mods like front and back nextbase camera, all servicing i can do myself but electronics are to fiddly for me to tackle....michael.

i have been looking for months there are loads of saloons in colours i dont like with manual gearboxes, i am after a silver auto estate 150ps with below 25k on the clock, what are within an hour drive from liverpool, its not easy, that se i was looking at in rochdale skoda had someone put a deposit on it the day after i spoke to the salesman, and the SE-L one in leicester had that gearbox problem, so i will just be patient and keep looking, if you spot something sash let me know....michael.

thanks for that info sasha, so basically only use acc on motorway long journeys, if you want to prolong the life of your discs.

do you know how using cruise control affects the rear brakes more than normal? i can imagine using hill hold all the time might cause it but i am just guessing.

the last part of your paragraph sasha sounds good to me, i have seen a superb se in RRG skoda rochdale they want £14750 22k mileage ita an estate diesel auto just what i am looking for, except i would rather have had a SE L spec, but beggars can't be chooses.

if the radar is as high tec as the new toyota corolla hybrids front radar, that my mate had it is a job and a half to get the thing calibrated, my mate hit a seagull and it knocked it slightly out of kilta and 3 trips back to the dealer and they still couldn't fix it probably, they are engineered so precisely that the kids who tinker with them at the dealer havant got a scooby where to start.

does anyone know if its possible to upgrade the se halogen headlights to something like the sel xenon headlights.
