  1. Thanks for the info lads, i have a skoda 16" space saver wheel coming on monday so i was trying to get a jack to go with it, but like one of you mentions I need a scissor type jack with a groove in it, i have took the foam thing and compressor and gunk can out i will try and sell them i think?
  2. This kit is on Ebay the leaflet says octavia and superb T3 so will it fit a newer superb.

  5. Alen that last sentence has got me thinking, I think you might have stumbled across something, I always have the stop start switched off and its going to stay off, I really hate that function.
  6. no prob, i just dont want to go out one morning and i get the old dead mans click, but what you guys mentioned about the 80% reserve capacity makes me a bit more confident
  7. no mate that is my multimeter, the battery specialist had a proper all bells and whistles tester.

  10. I forgot to mention in start stop traffic today in 24 degree heat i switched the start stop off and low and behold it didnt stop the engine every time?

  12. i allways have the stop start switched off every time i get in because its a gimmick to me, and i hate it. I suppose the big test will be the winter but i have to get a oil service in about 4 months so i will ask skoda to test it then, but they will probably say the same as my local specialist.
  13. i allways check the battery when i buy a new car, ive only had it a month, starts a few seconds after pressing the start button every time,
  14. Is my battery slowly dying, i had it checked at my local battery specialist and he told me its fine, and it starts after been left for a few days, even though my multi meter says its a low voltage reading, it is a EFB exide battery.
  15. yes thats the one mate, i to had to bend the cable around that black relay type box, I had the battery tested and even though its around 12.3-4 voltes he said it is normal, i am going to keep an eye on it.

  19. thanks for the info but i dont think i will pe heating up and prizing my keys, risk and reward thing, take car mate.
  20. i found some great videos on youtube of how you take the cover off to get at the battery, but there is none on taking the metal parts off, i found a tiny screw on one end but i dont have anything what will fit, and i have about 30 screwdrivers but none that type or size.
  21. hi mate this is interesting, dont you damage the plastic when you prise it with a screwdriver.

Matt page 143 of your handbook, look at your fuses overview picture, i put mine into number 48 it says its not used it switches on when engine is on and off when its not, but when i checked my battery a few days ago it was reading 12.3v which is not to good to be honest i might take it to my local battery specialist tomorrow to do a proper test on it, the car is only a year old the batteries in these are sh***t really mine is a EFB.
