  1. Yes, a long run with a gentle right foot and some 50/60mph roadworks would see 38+. My best was 41mpg over a 200 mile journey!
  2. It was a great car and I really enjoyed it, surprised quite a few people with how quick it is! Had full MD history too although their advert didn't say so. Only thing that grated was the 25mpg around town and since a lot of our driving is around town, we decided to go electric on salary sacrifice instead.
  3. My old Superb 280 was with Cazoo and fitted that description but looks like it might have sold now. Was Business Grey over cream with sunroof and many other options.
  4. Did you sell on here please @z1ts? I'm not a Freedom member and Cazoo are offering £21k for my "17" L&K 280 - wondering if it's worth signing up to get a bit more than that or just taking the easy route. I don't want to be sat on it for much longer since I have a new company car that's already arrived.
  5. I think I'm going to go for the MOT elsewhere and then the service at the main dealer. If I was going to keep the car, I'd just go independent, but given I might not, I think there might be value in full main dealer service history (although quite why people value this, I'll never know), I'd always take a good indie service history over a main dealer if buying, I think it shows that the owner has given some thought to the service history.
  6. That's true, but am I likely to devalue the car (given potential impending sale) if I break the current full main stealer history for the sake of a couple of hundred £?
  7. I think I was adding MOT and service together, I guess I could get the MOT done locally and then service at the main dealer as an alternative - hadn't thought about that.
  8. I bought my 2017 Superb L&K 280 with 30k miles in March 2021 and got it serviced at the Chester main dealer in 2022, 12 months after. I've tried to book it in for this year and they have nothing until mid-April (it's due end of March!). It's coming up to 42k miles now so I need a 6 year service (+pollen +air filter) and a gearbox oil change (40k miles) plus MOT at a cost of almost £500 (plus any parts which might include new front pads since they were mentioned last year as being low). I'm considering selling the car in the not too distant future (potential company car) but given the age, is it worth continuing with main dealer servicing this year or going independent? If the latter, any recommendations around Wilmslow/Stockport/Macclesfield would be appreciated. Thanks!
  9. I'd like to buy a boot liner for my Superb estate for protection from muddy buggys and bikes but don't know which to get. I have the variable floor (although I have no idea what its use is?), does this make a difference to the boot liner I need? Thanks AyB
  10. The state of the steering wheel and seat bolster on that 5 series is crazy for less than 30k miles! The benefit, to me, of the Skoda is the much newer car and better spec. I picked up a 2017 L&K 280 for low £20k's, the equivalent 5 series is up towards £30k.
  11. I assume it'll be uneconomical to get it removed from your car and then fitted to anyone elses or are you just looking to sell the neck?
  12. A timely topic. I've got a rattle on my 2017 L&K which I thought had gone when the main dealer said there were some loose heat shields, but it's still there at just under 2k rpm which is when the car changes gear when taking it easy. I think it's in the driver's door but not too sure. Also, any recommendations for toolkits for removing panels would be appreciated.
  13. Thanks - it was the dealer that fitted both. Apparently they fitted 2 Nexens and then one got a puncture before they shipped it to me and they only had the Conti in stock so fitted that...
  14. My new (to me) 280 has just turned up and I've been having a poke around. The car is a 17 plate (March 2017) but think it's a MY16 with the 8" screen. - KESSY - is it not possible to disable KESSY on my car using the touch the lock on the button and touch the doorhandle trick? - The car has 3 Nexens and 1 Conti (dealer used car) - are tyres not supposed to at least match across axle (surprised it's come from the dealer like this)? - The car came with 2 keys, how many should I have (internet seems to say 2 or 3?). Thanks Andrew
  15. Brake fluid done, haldex done, DSG not done. I phoned a different dealer who said that needed doing at 40k miles regardless of age. Given they don't have a vested interest in the sale, I went with what they said. I may get the DSG done once it arrives though. Thanks all for your help.
  16. Sorry for bumping this - is the service schedule earlier of the year and the mileage? Given the car is 4 years old with 30k miles, I'd have expected it to have had the 4 year items carried out but I'm being told by the salesman that it's the 30,000 mile items that have been done (although weirdly they've done the spark plugs which are a 4-year item).
  17. Thanks. Right now, I just use my phone with Waze, so anything is an upgrade. Sounds like it's possible to retrofit anyway, so if I ever find myself bored with it, I'll fit the larger screen and 2.5. I actually prefer buttons though, never understood the craze with touchscreens in cars, it's much more difficult to know what you're pressing and how many times whilst keeping your eyes on the road.
  18. Horses for courses. Doesn't look like SkudMissile likes it, but I think it makes the car much more airy, especially combined with the pano roof. Have plain black on my current car. Aware it'll take more looking after to keep it looking good, but that's fine.
  19. What's the difference between MIB2 and MIB2.5?
  20. It's a March 2017 car. I did wonder whether I'm better off waiting for a slightly newer car. What's the approximate cost of a 9.2" columbus screen and MIB2.5?
  21. Yes, spotted that earlier. Looks like it scrubs up well in my opinion.
  22. Just to close this off, a small discount and refundable deposit while I go and find a car to sit in at the weekend mean this one's now mine pending success this weekend. Thanks for all your help!
  23. Just hate being rushed by salesmen. No money off to be had but he'll refurb 3 of the 4 wheels and do full service and mot. It was a dealer demo at Worcester. Apparently no issue with the windscreen so he suspects has been replaced. I'm not in a huge rush to change (baby due in August), but do like the pano roof which I don't think comes up too often. Now slightly worried that my wife hasn't driven one yet and should probably do that first. Decisions, decisions...
  24. Thanks. They do seem to be rare and fought over when they appear (apparently there's someone else quite far down the interested route with it too). I sent an email so that I could get condition reports in writing back and followed up by phone this morning. Sounds like the first owner was a dealer, hence the 2 owners and high spec. All servicing will be done in line with Skoda requirements. I'm torn about going to collect (5 hour train journey) but the COVID option of 14 days to return for a refund is also appealing. I suspect I lose this if I go to collect. The one at Mitchel has been for sale for ages!
  25. I thought chip, but I've got a few of those on my current car and they're never normally noted on the MOT so assumed it was possibly something more serious. Thanks for the help on the sunroof, I'll try and get them to do that too.
