  4. Thanks for that info but I’ve used it before knowing it to be for the wrong Sat Nav…… obviously it didn’t work. Photo attached of the one in my car ….. can’t identify name (anyone know?) but it was obviously fitted to Karok 2018 models. Still trying to find resolution. Regards XVolvo.
  5. I know it's been asked somewhere before but can anyone advise how to delete destinations from Sat Nav ??? .....there is no advice in the manual of any sense ! ...... model is 2018 / SE Tech TDI. Thanks JCW
  6. Thanks for that .... booked in with Indy tomorrow .... will keep you posted .... .......noise stopped .... points toward stone trapped somewhere and now possibly gone .. your help much appreciated. Regards ... JCW
  7. Strange one this ......... just happened yesterday p.m. .... driving slowly in traffic ... a metallic "clank" noise ( sounds like possible loose shield of some description, or a cover ... ???? ) from drivers side front,...... 2 or 3 times then disappeared .... occured again some short time later ... then on entering home driveway, with steering on full lock right it happened again. Noise didn't occur at speed, or after going over bumps..... puzzled. Took car out just now, no noise at all even after going around local roundabout 2/3 times i.e. at full Right lock.... got home, crawled underneath and nothing visible sen or felt. Only other idea is connected to brake pads, or assemblies ... guessing though........ any ideas ? Can visit my local indy tomorrow a.m. JCW

Still find it difficult, in some cases impossible, to follow the instruction manual and to obtain the correct info...... still can’t find the required tyre pressure for the narrow spare wheel. Followed page after pages of useless info, including inside fuel cap ! .... can anyone advise ? ... 2018 . Karoq Thanks .... XVolvo.
  11. Oh, oh ! ......... do I get the feeling that the old adage " If it ain't broke, don't fix it " applies ? ... except in this case read " Sat Nav ... If it's working, don't update it" ? It seems a very risky and complicated procedure but I do have a map in the boot, just in case ! The old Tom Tom is there as well and that didn't require all this performance. Sorry for your plight and hope you can resolve it ... it appears to be a salutary lesson for all. Thanks .. JCW
  12. Sorry to be dim gentlemen .... but .... !!! ....... just got lost on the portal described above. Purchased my car in April this year ... how do I find build date if it differs from 1st Reg. Date. My Karoq has a first Reg date of 16.07.18. i.e. before date of maps shown on Portal ... how do I find my card ...??? .... Europe 1 - CW 45/2017. Computers aren't my strong point !! ... do I use existing card to be updated, or a new one as described above ? Anybody else struggling ?? Your help would be great. Regards XVolvo

Sorry to be stating the obvious really ... this happened to me less than 6 months ago, just before I sold my Volvo V70 and bought my Karoq ... you can guess the likely price of a replacement mirror and body for a V70 so I haunted Ebay and a few scrappers on line for about 2/3 weeks ... got the complete replacement mirror / body ( wrong colour but ..! ) for £65.00 plus P & P ... my local friendly car body re-sprayer matched the colour ( from silver to dark blue ) and did the job for £50.00 .. my "indy" garage fitted replacement for £50.00..... in total, saved hundreds ... no one could tell the difference ... just have to be lucky to pick the right item at the right time..... V70 parts are probably rarer than Karoq so it's got to be worth a try. X Volvo
  14. Just opened boot, then lifted cover for Spare wheel area, to find 2 x Wires ... 1 x Green and 1 x White, both with wire wound around the outside, some 2 - 3 feet in length, fixed at one end where I can't see, about halfway across boot, I guess ... which apparently have become detached from their light green ( now non adhesive !) roundels, at the road end of the boot ... they look more like aerial (?) wires, rather than electrical. Both end in approx. 1 inch square flat metal plates ..... apparently to fit to body on drivers side ? They run about 2/3rds of the boot width. Any ideas and where should they be re-fitted ?? ... radio on all wavelengths and Sat Nav are fine, if indeed they are for those items. I've currently secured both wires with Duct Tape to stop them being moved / trapped / pulled, but am anxious there is a proper fitting area.... any ideas ?? Regards XVolvo

Thanks so far ... price was from local Skoda Dealer who quotes same price as per other Skoda dealers.... it's just the cost of items that seems expensive, or if anyone has dealt with the problem in an alternative way. XVolvo

Had my 2018 pre owned Karoq for just over a month now and am more than pleased with it, especially after some 40 years of driving Volvo's, mainly V70's .... but the Karoq 1.6TDI has the the foam filler kit instead of a spare wheel. ... Yes, I know !!! .. it doesn't get used very often, if at all, but, I would feel more secure, especially on foreign trips, with a replacement wheel to enable me to get to garage / tyre dealer in the event of a complete tyre blowout or failure. The tyre kit from Skoda is £250.00 ( using the narrow wheel / tyre ) but I'm looking for any advice as to pro's and cons and/or tips, before proceeding.....searching through the usual Auction sites on the web doesn't really come up with a good buy. Can anyone offer some good advice ? XVolvo

Just to end (?) this item ... new passenger side door lock fitted today F.O.C. by dealer from where my car was bought ... took the chance of "grilling" the fitter ... apparently this is a common problem on newer cars .. not just Skoda ... new lock is always fitted by them as it takes too long, and is thus too expensive, to repair ... he fits numerous replacements per week !!! Everything crossed now that it's OK XVolvo.

1.6 SE Tech Diesel 2018 . Can any one confirm please ???? ........ are there 2 x Rear Fog Lights or just one on the rear offside ??? ... How to get to bulb as if there are 2 rears, then I have bulb out on rear nearside -- no show of bulb failure light ( if that exists !! ) on instrument panel. Thanks XVolvo.

Being new to the Board, I don't know if there is / are moderator(s) for the Board and if so perhaps they might like to comment / advise / be involved, as to a possible approach to Skoda UK to voice both their / our potential and actual problems, being reported on a range of common issues, as being experienced by their Board's users and their (Skoda ) clients..... , not doing anything, isn't good. Such avenues might be Trading Standards, Motor Manufacturers Organisations ... sneaking onto VW and Seat Boards, if they exist !! ... to see if similar problems exist. Remember, we've seen some pretty outrageous actions by the VW group in recent months. In only just 7 days, some 7 or 8 people have reported these mechanical / electrical problems, not to mention probably more who are just innocent bystanders and watching and wondering ..... action now in the right quarters...i.e. if people feel that strongly, will be better than individually trying to get Skoda to face their responsibilities to their clients, all scattered about the UK. I look forward to any comments. Regards .. XVolvo.

It just gets worse, doesn't it ????? ... more and more people discover inherent faults that require money spending on them .. the problem is ... who foots the bill ??? Reliability issues, cynical Dealer responses, bad support and spares problems...... I wonder ... should I have bought the car 2 weeks ago ? Regards, XVolvo ( hopefully not to become XSkoda shortly !!!!)

Looks like I really opened a can of worms when I made the posting on Sunday last.... so perhaps an update from me will confirm the actions and results of my activity this week. I immediately managed to receive the assistance of the major car dealer ( Not Skoda ! ) from who I bought the car, only the week before, having arrangements made to return my car this ( Friday ) morning for attention .... if it could be repaired, then it would be there and then, or if parts were required, they would be ordered for subsequent fitting a.s.a.p. All was ready when I arrived, the car was quickly inspected by the Service Manager whose conclusion was that the door lock was to be replaced. When he returned from investigation, he stated that Door Locks from Skoda were on back supply (( !!! )) and it would be 7 - 10 days before the work could be scheduled. Not a problem for me as I am only too pleased to have this work carried out F O C. and by a competent person Judging by this and other similar results evidenced above, it looks like we struck a Skoda nerve, perhaps giving power to the elbow of other Skoda Karoq drivers who might be / have been, a casualty ... my astonishment still raises its head when dealers, as described above, have the effrontery to charge an investigation fee !!!!!! .... come on ... they must know !!! All the facts here hang together, especially the lack of parts and offers of goodwill ... it's time Skoda did an FOC recall. Good luck to all who are trying and thanks to those who unknowingly gave support. Regards ... XVolvo

Just to confirm... yes, car is diesel ...... checked with Skoda, they have no trace of vehicle since it was sold in 2018 with no service being carried by their main dealer chain. This is not unusual to have non use of main dealers nowadays as people use indies, due to either distance from location or servicing costs.... also as a lease / company vehicle it could be serviced “ in house” ,as mine has been. I have, now, no worries on this score as services carried out on time..... vehicle is out of Skoda warranty. A couple of other points .... vehicle is 1.6 not the 1.5 ( I did some investigation ! ) and on the recall issue, If necessary, I would only use a Main dealer for the reasons correctly stated ( this happened a few times for me with Volvo’s I had .... work always FOC ! ) Thanks everyone for your input to date. XVolvo.

Thanks for those comments, gents .... delighted to hear that I’m not going up the twist ! .... but sorry to hear that the problem might be quite serious if it’s one of those electro ones ... always seem expensive and not always resolved. Perhaps we should keep in touch and updated so we’re not having our respective legs pulled. Regards ... XVolvo
  25. Discovered that the front passenger door does not open from the key fob and needs to be opened from inside ... all other 3 doors open OK ... it then releases with the interior manual handle, so it looks like an electrical problem. not mechanical. Can't be the relevant fuse as there are other functions, which all work, on the same fuse Yes I've gone through all the screens, tried other door options and reset, all without success. Any ideas ? XVolvo.
