Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
0238 is super unstable, is anyone able to help me source RW files? I’ve been trying for over a year at this point.

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Australia. We don't have Skoda Connect which I assume is why the Kamiq follows the RW software train. Funnily enough, my Octavia and Ateca both follow EU software trains. Is the Mega upload the RW variant?

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Well I've got myself in some strife. I'm stuck on MOI_RW_SKMQB_R23802P. Like the EU version, MOI3_RW_SKMQB_P27801 contains three versions - 0238, 0268, and 0278. Well the update from 0156 to 0238 went fine. But now when I try to initiate an update, it just reboots back into red menu. I really don't want to get stuck on version 0238. Among other bugs, it puts 'pre-production hardware' across the screen while using Android Auto. I think the copy of MOI3_RW_SKMQB_P27801 I've got is missing some files. But that was hard enough to track down in the first place. The copy of MOI3_RW_SKMQB_P30800 suggests I could upgrade from 0268 if it can get it updated at least that far.

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
I have still had zero luck trying to find the rest of the world copies of these files. No one seems to be able to help me. Worse still my local Skoda dealers diagnostic systems are off line for 8 weeks or more - even if they were willing to help me.

Retrofit 13" Enyaq Display to Octavia Mk4
I think the parts are too expensive and too hard to find at this stage. Maybe in 12-18 months we'll see some Russians over at Drive2.ru attempt it or JLS MQB in Taiwan - they seem to be capable of retrofits other say are impossible or economically infeasible e.g. 360 camera and CANTON retrofits: Anyway, from what limited information I can find on MIB4, it's been described as basically MIB3.5 a kin to the MIB2 to MIB2.5 upgrade on the Mk3 Octavia. The software base for MIB4 on is largely the same as MIB3.

Climate control Sync, work around.
Some can source the updates for you. But ODIS access is expensive, so not a lot of independent do. I’d be looking for a VAG specialist if you going outside of the dealer network.

Update to Version 1969
You should consider asking the dealer to update the climatic module. It is seperate from the infotainment system - I had to explain this on two occasions before the service team understood. You can find the details here:

Update to Version 1969
Yes. We also only get one version of the infotainment system in Australia - the MIB3 MOI3. The low trims like the Octavia Style forgo the license required for navigation as a way of differentiating low spec from high spec. With the LG manufactured MOI3 units as used in the Octavia IV, Golf 8, Formentor, Leon (MQB Evo) etc... Australia uses the EU firmware i.e. MOI_EU_XXXXXX. However, older MQB based vehicles like the Superb, Kodiaq, Kamiq etc... using the Preh MOI3 have a seperate firmware/software train with RW or Rest of World i.e. MOI_RW_XXXXXX. Side note: the exception to this seems to be the Cupra Ateca (of which I also own). It seems LG make the MOI3 unit for this and so it uses the EU firmware/software train. That causes havoc with tools like MIB Helper as it suggests I try to install 1969 even though 0870 is the most current firmware.

vRS v GTI v Fermentor v Leon
in Australia at least, owners suffering from this issue have been able to claim it under warranty. They’ve upgraded the seat foam to prevent it happening. in Australia, you can get the Leon and Formentor in V, VZ, VZe, and VZx. The V, VZ, and VZx all use versions of the EA888. The V uses the down rated EA888 that was used in the Octavia Limited edition. Whereas the VZ uses the same tune as the Octavia RS and Golf GTI. The VZx uses the same tune as the Golf R but misses out on AWD. the VZ was dropped from the Formentor range. if I were in the position to wait I would. The updated media system is worth it alone. if you compare the current Leon VZ to the Octavia RS with Premium Pack. Then aside from the size difference, you give up the 360 Camera, passenger side electric seat, power tailgate. HUD, and Matrix LED headlights with the Leon. Plus the Octavia has the 13 speaker Canton system. Whereas the Beats system is only 9 speakers - the facelift Leon gets a 13 speaker Sennheiser system. I’m considering the trading out other car - a Focus wagon in on a Leon VZ. I love my Octavia and it was such a big upgrade over the Kamiq Monte Carlo it replaced.

Retrofit 13" Enyaq Display to Octavia Mk4
Just checked the parts list and the facelift Octavia uses the same display as the current Enyaq with matching part numbers 5LA 919 606B: Based on that, I'm fairly confident the display will physically fit in the dashboard - as the dashboard hasn't changed from pre-facelift to facelift. That leads me to my next question, are displays (not the media unit box) component protected?

VRS Door Sill Protector - Manufacturing Fault
These are almost identical to the sills on my Kamiq. Which looked like new after two years. I believe they’re for the Octavia Sportline. You should consider upgrading to the ‘grey line’ premium floor mats. They’ve got a grey piped edge. the carpet quality is also better then the factory fit carpet. I helped my mum to source genuine Copper stitched ‘premium’ floor mats and cargo to match her Kamiq copper stitching.

Update to Version 1969
if you’ve the Canton sound system, you’ll have an amp/audio module under the passenger side seat. This will require an update of it own to have any affect. I had my system updated to fix audio dropouts. It’s also worth mentioning that some menus are produced by the multimedia unit and some by individual modules. Radio, Navigation, Smartlink, Voice Control, Settings = Multimedia Unit 5F Driver Assist settings, vehicle settings, ambient lighting = Central Electronics 09 (but also relies on modules like Driver Assistance A5 to be coded correctly to display certain menu items) Climate Control = Climatetronic Module 08 The climate menu is probably the best example of how updates to the multimedia module have no effect. Despite Skoda upgrading me from 1896 to 1941, then 1949 to 1969 myself. It had no affect on the climate menu and I continued to have sync memory issues etc… However, once they upgraded my climatronic module (there is a whole thread on this) it was fixed. The car would remember the Sync state and the menu responded a lot quicker - similar to the sped increase going from 1896 to 1941. if you look at videos for the Octavia facelift, you’ll see many of the menus are identical despite the new MIB4 infotainment (really a reskin of MIB3 or MIB3.5). That’s because the underlying modules would have similar if not the same software versions as our pre-facelift vehicles despite a whole new multimedia unit.

Where is the Alcantara in my vRS?
Looking at the spec sheet, the NZ model is identically specced to Australian delivered models. That means that if you didn't specify the 'RS plus pack' (premium pack in Australia) with the 'Split leather ergonomic comfort seat' then you get those all fabric seats. I'll admit the way they worded the spec sheet - 'RS Sports comfort seats with fabric/alcantara upholstery' makes it sound like they include Alcantara on the seats, but it is limited to the door cards and dashboard - has been that way since 2021 when the Mk4 Octavia launched. For clarity they should have listed the options in the full spec list and used an 'O' or 'P' to mark items that are optional or part of a package.

Key personalisation not working as expected
We don't have Skoda Connect and therefore we don't get user profiles. Having looked at the coding for our cars we get personalisation 1.0 and Europe gets personalisation 2.0. Our cars seem to lack the ability to associate settings with a key like their European counterparts. My car for example can't tell where the seat was for the previous occurrent depending on what key was last used. But it does have seat memory and easy access. I've tried a few different options to see if I can get offline user profiles working like MIB2.5 vehicles had (e.g. Mk3.5 Octavia) but no luck. They broke/omitted a lot of the personalisation features when they designed MIB3 - it appears they built it for online first, then worked backwards for offline functions. To answer your original question, key personalisation mostly doesn't work for vehicles with Skoda Connect. See the SOP 48/20 Column for the Mk4 Octavia. See this thread for more information:

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Once it’s updated to 1941 you’ll get all those features. My head unit is the same hardware from early 2021 but it’s running 1969 and it’s smooth like butter.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I’ve got display H44/2088 running on 1969. Mines a 2021 and faultless despite the Australian heat. I recall it got up to at least 42 degrees Celsius over Summer. Now we’re close to the minus's. I might even get to take the RS to the snow fields. Well, if I can find some snow chains that fit. last car I took to the snow was my 9-3 Aero back in 2016.

Old Infortainment system, is it worth upgrading.
Rather then starting a new thread, I would have suggested posting here: 1900 isn't that old. 1896 is a pretty common version that came before it. However, the update to 1941 is certainly worth it. You should have no issues updating to 1941 and then to 1969 - however, like someone else will inevitably point out, you do this at your own risk. Go to the aforementioned 1969 thread and follow the information for installation.

Update to Version 1969
Well it appears our cars have this functionality, but it's not used. Otherwise, why would Skoda allow us to connect our cars to the home WiFi and provide us with an option view updates? The MIB3 MOI3 Preh (headunit type) used in everything but the Mk4 Octavia has a WiFi Update button in the main menu. For reference, the MIB3 Premium head units come in two different versions for Skoda, the MOI3 Preh made by Harmon and the MOI3 LG... made by LG. The MOI3 LG is used in MQB Evo vehicles like the Golf 8, Leon, and Formentor. The MOI3 Preh is the older style unit used in pretty much everything else. I've looked through the 5f Multimedia adaptions and did see these options but changing them does nothing: But even if it did, we'd still need Skoda to push updates out over the air for us to receive anything.

Update to Version 1969
It's a challenge for us because Skoda Australia is still in the "if it ain' broke, don't fix it" mentality. Whereas other brands are providing feature updates. Heck even our 2019 Ford Focus still gets Sync 3 updates over WiFi and it's a pre-FordPass/Connected services model. My biggest problem with Australian delivered Skoda's is how broken the system can be. They clearly designed MIB3 to be always connected and then worked backwards rather than design MIB3 to function offline with the added benefits of online functions. Worse still, our cars are destined to stay offline forever. Even with Skoda Australia launching connected services with the Enyaq, there is no known retrofit solution like Carstick LTE for the MIB2.

Climate control Sync, work around.
Yes, it was painful. It took me demonstrating the issue to two or three staff before they even understood the issue. Then they tried updating the multimedia unit. Despite repeatedly telling them it was the climatronic. After two visits, then yes they updated the software to 0531. here is a screenshot of the current info: I believe the software number can be used as a part number in ODIS to download the file. Some TPIs reference part numbers for software. But I could be completely wrong.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I can confirm. Some of the multimedia units will have a notice advising to use a newer part revision. Example:

Update to Version 1969
I'm on iOS 17.5.1. WiFi is required to be on in the Skoda infotainment unit. If you try connecting wireless CarPlay with it off, it prompts you to turn it on. I have tried repairing it, but it eventually does it again. I usually only have to deal with the issue when I get in the car for the first time that day. The quickest fix for me, is to turn Wifi off and on. It disconnects then reconnects and all is good.

Disable wireless charger?
I've been trying to track down the new cooling mat from the facelift Octavia. However, the parts catalogue isn't available online yet. Looking at the design of the updated rubber pad and other cooled chargers, I think that the cooling effect would be negligible without vertical channels creating an air pocket under the phone. The other issue is that the "Phone Box" is listed as one piece, so in theory you'd need to order plastic housing to get the rubber mat. I've also discovered coding in OBDeleven in the 5F/Multimedia Module that would enable fast charging via the "Kopplebox" aka phonebox. Module 5F Multimedia > Adaption > Function configuration phone > Deactivated/Activated i'm not sure if the "Kopplebox" is the charging pad or just the two port USB-C hub. But my hunch is that it is the USB ports because this MIB3 test unit sold by Volkswagen mentions having a "kopplebox without antenna" and I can't see a wireless charger anywhere on the unit. But there is a dual USB-C hub. So in theory this coding could enable 45w charging from those ports on our pre-facelift cars. However, I can't verify if the USB hub has a new part number until the parts catalogue for the facelift is released.
