Massaging seat problem
How did you know the cable was loose? Or in other words what were the symptoms that made you think it was a problem? I've noticed my massage function turns off after about 15 minutes but that's by design. But I had noticed a few error codes to say the massage pneumatic motor was overheating. Still seems to function fine for me though.

PDC Query on week old skoda
If the error occurs again, take a photo. We'd need more information to help. Some messages are just that and not really an error. An example is "manoeuvre braking not available" which pops up multiple times for me when I go into the touch free auto car wash. It pops up in white/neutral colour pallet. However, if to comes up in orange as below, then you've got an issue: Take a photo or video next time it occurs. It will help you at the dealer too.

HUD Not working
What do you mean by updated? Did you get an OTA update, make coding changes, get an ECU flash?

New update today
Incorrect. You can't use the update package from a Volkswagen in a Skoda (maps and radio database updates excluded). But the actual software versions are shared. Just like the Golf 8, Formentor, and Leon our Octavia's use the LG MOI3 system which I believe is also known as MIB3 High. Anyway, I have attached a screenshot explaining how to decode software trains. Initial feedback seems to suggest 1969 is the most stable and responsive version yet, so I'll be keen to see it released. It's also worth noting that if you're an Australian like me, we don't have Skoda Connect or SOS modules. We can't get updates OTA, we instead have to convince our dealer there is problem in order to receive an update. If they can't 'see it' then no update. So it's been hell-ish up until 1941. In fact, my climate sync issue is still not fixed as of version 1941.

Software 1896 coming to Octavia NX as OTA update
Looks like Cupra/SEAT owners will be getting version 1969 soon. Something to look forward to in the next 12 months for us.

New update today
What is your software version? 1941 is the newest known version and has been around for close to 12 months now. 1969 has been spotted by SEAT owners - but I doubt that will have been pushed out OTA yet.

Tuning the sound system
I too wasn’t initially impressed with the Canton Sound System in my Octavia Mk4. On the default settings I found the bass and vocals very muddied or lost in each other. However I found these settings on a German Forum and to my ears it helps to make the base crisp and the vocals clear. I would also say that this system thrives on quality input. I’d suggest if you stream via Apple Music or Spotify, then adjust the bitrate to at least Lossless. if you’re using wireless Apple CarPlay it’s worth noting that the highest quality is lossless. But if you use a wired connection then you can get Hi-Res Lossless. It’s a subtle difference but in songs with a lot of detailed percussion it helps them to become less distinct. lastly, set the system to surround. In my option it shines best this way. The tweeters in the rear doors act as rear channels for the driver. It also counteracts the vocals being over-centred. Give it go and let me know what you think. I’d suggest a song like I Want You by Moloko or Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac to try it out.

Garage Door Opener retrofit?
This kit is for a Touareg but it might be adaptable for the Octavia. The buttons could work for a range of Skoda models, just not the Mk3 or Mk4 Octavia. But you could use the buttons through the MIB screen as shown in this thread. Euro Car Upgrades also have the Audi modules and a customer harness for both Volkswagen and Audi. https://eurocarupgrades.com.au/volkswagen-touareg-7p-homelink-garage-door-retrofit-kit-oem-genuine.html Also of interest: https://www.golf7freunde.de/index.php/Thread/4813-Diskussion-über-den-Einbau-Garagentor-Funksender-in-Innenleuchte-Bedienung-über/

Phoenix orange
I wish Skoda Australia would offer Phoenix Orange or Royal Green on the Octavia's here. I love the Royal Green. Currently, you can get Phoenix Orange on the Fabia, Kamiq, and Karoq. Funnily enough you can only get the Phoenix Orange on non-Monte Carlo Kamiq's - although two arrived by mistake in 2022. In my opinion I think that Phoenix Orange only looks good on the RS and Monte Carlo models. You need the black accents to make the orange pop.

What improvements would you make to the infotainment system?
We don't have Skoda Connect in Australia... yet. Reports online suggest that the Enyaq when (finally) released in Australia next year will be the one of the first vehicles to have it. The local Cupra Born owners have had their cars hamstrung by the lack of connected services. It means they have to go to the dealer for major software updates. With regard to the ambient lighting, you should already have the extended version. At least my 2021 RS does, but they did delete a few options between 2021 and 2023. Skoda Australia also will not sell FEC/SWAP codes - Feature Enabling Code / SoftWare As a Product - a mechanism to pack units with features and sell activation codes later which is what the online shop does - again something only available via Skoda Connect. Our MIB3 (Modularer Infotainment Baukasten or Modular Infotainment System - 3rd Generation) units introduced in 2021 has meant the loss of a bunch of features because they moved them to online only. In Australia, radio logos don't work, there is no Gracenote album artwork, no TMC/Traffic Information, No firmware updates via WiFi, and no user profiles/personalisation - to name a few items. It's very frustrating. IMO, Skoda Australia should have put the Skoda Connect/LTE hardware in vehicles now ready for activation later.

Interior lighting
He actually made the rear lights by Frankenstein-ing BMW and ŠKODA parts together with the exisiting door panel trim. I’m not sure about the door handle lights they’re still on the 2023 Australian Spec Octavia’s.

Interior lighting
I've got the rear door handle lights on my Jan 2021 Octavia RS. But I thought everyone might find this interesting. A Russian owner has retrofitted rear light strips AND pocket lights. He has three part guide here: https://www.drive2.ru/l/647835000938439674/ It looks super involved, but the pocket lights look doable by the average DIYer. I might even have a go myself.

Climate control Sync, work around.
I’ve got this issue and I’ve got the sync issue as I mentioned in my previous post. I recently learned how to check the publicly available software updates via VAG-Flash Info. Anyway, it appears there are a bunch of updates in the works from Škoda. https://vag-flashinfo.de/site/index?partno=5WA907727 it seems that 0462 is the latest version released as recently as September. From what I understand the dealer won’t be able to perform the update unless Škoda issues a TPI. Then they get a code issued from Software Version Management to perform the update in ODIS. I may not be entire correct on this though.

What improvements would you make to the infotainment system?
Well I checked the part number of my dashboard on VAG-Flashinfo and there are two newer software versions listed. https://vag-flashinfo.de/site/index?partno=5E3920770A According to OBDEleven I'm on version 3450. However, 3460 and 3470 appear to exist. Looks like something I could get updated - although the dealer likely won't make it easy.

What improvements would you make to the infotainment system?
To clarify, do you mean that the maps can be display with the analogue style gauges like this: My 2021 Octavia can already display them like this: But my 2021 Kamiq could display both views. So to reiterate, you're saying the 2023 Octavia's have both views available?

What improvements would you make to the infotainment system?
I'm from Australia, so the MIB3 system is functionally limited by the lack of Skoda Connect. However, the main things I would change are: Radio Logos - the ability to upload radio logos from a USB. Plus I didn't grab any radio logos via DAB when I visited Melbourne the other day. Traffic information via TMC - Because we don't have Skoda Connect, and Skoda removed TMC (despite it recognising TMC channels) we can't get traffic info via the navigation system. Driver Profiles associated to the key - like how the Skoda Connect system works but associated with the key. So it recognises me and I can program a name and have individualised settings. Software updates over WiFi - this seems to be technically functional, but I've never received an update notification and the update list remains blank. Having to rely on dealers for the latest software is painful. They'll usually fight you on it or lie and say they've done one. Skoda Connect functionality via your Phone - basically the same functions e.g. SOS call, App Store, etc... but via your phone's LTE connection. Skoda CarPlay app - basically an app that connects to the car that allows you to control the radio and certain functions within CarPlay. Like the MyPorsche App just announced or the Skoda SmartLink+ app. While not directly infotainment related, I miss from my Kamiq being able to have the maps displayed in more then just one of the dashboard views. In particular, I liked the traditional tachometer view with the maps displayed in the middle.

Cup Holder spring tab pushed through!
Did you end up working it out? One of my tabs has fallen in too.

Climate control Sync, work around.
So based on this information control unit 08 needs to be updated. My air conditioning unit is on software version 0341. You don’t happen to have OBD Eleven or VCDS to check the version of your module 08?

Climate control Sync, work around.
I’ve had my infotainment updated from 1896 to 1941 and still have the climate zone sync issue. It also unsyncronises if I use one of the smart climate options.

VCDS & MIB3
Hi there, We're in the same position in Australia as we don't have Skoda Connect. Our system can't seem to update over WiFi. The compass and green score menu are supposed to be fixed in software version 0306. Wireless Android Auto works in my Kamiq from factory with Amundsen. I would make sure that in Module 5F adaptions: Function configuration connectivity > App connect over wifi > On Function configuration connectivity > Google android auto > On

Alarm motion sensors
From the online owners manual: You can also add a shortcut button to the pull down menu in the infotainment. Next time post this in the main Kamiq chat not the Guides section.

Skoda app
The moderator should move this topic to the main Kamiq discussion. This is not a guide but a question.

Guide: Cooled Glovebox Retrofit - Kamiq & Scala
From recollection there it should just pull out. But it could also have plastic rivets. It should become apparent once the glovebox is removed.

Cooled glove box
I wrote a guide and it should be the same for both the Kamiq and Scala:

Usb C by mirror, can you retrofit
I'd really like to retrofit one too, they're not standard fit in Australia. I have found the trim and the usb itself but not the loom. I have also checked the worship manuals uploaded on the forum and can't find any reference to it. It's a total mystery. Ford has a really good dealer fit dash cam that actually integrates with Sync 3, e.g. display a live feed and can be controlled. They have a version of this that will work with our design. You want the G12 see here: .
