  1. Reporting back after spending some money 😚 with roofbox.co.uk who were v helpful Atera SIGNO RTD 122cm black aero-profile aluminium bars kamei husky 330 in gloss black (KM447) INNO Tyre Hold 2 INA389 can fit the box and the tyre hold carrier on the top no problems, then also had a 3 bike tow bar carrier if getting fully loaded up or a choice of either. had a bit of trauma with deliveries which came via DX couriers. Roof box turned up busted, forklift had speared the cardboard packaging and box - Kamei dont appear to do more than a big cardboard box, then a pretty thin foam sheet, then on the box a clear tape is on the gloss black lid - a bit flimsy really. So check over your deliveries very carefully. Also the roof bike carrier, whilst seemingly packed well, the rear fascia of the carrier had suffered another impact / drop. roofbox.co.uk were v helpful swapping out the box and offering a swap or a decent discount for the bike carrier. recommended. onwards to half term duties and more expected miles with the winter tyres now on...
  2. thanks - bridgestone blizzak lm005 wheels from here https://www.carnoisseur.com/alloy-wheels/details/borbet-lx18-matt-black borbet also has a *really* helpful website https://www.borbet.de/en/configurator#274017680!0B7B478

  8. Expected to be wet and have bridge stone blizzaks lm005. So I think fit the bill. Booked to be put on mid Oct. Driving late Oct. Cheers
  9. When to fit winters in 2021? Looking at long range forecast and monthly averages it would appear that at present Oct will be wet, be on average warmer than normal temps, with then Nov perhaps being more obvious winter tyre temps etc. We have got a biggish drive planned late Oct so prob fit winters just before that as new tyres plus wet performance probably better than outgoing and lower amount of tread summer tyres I think. When do others swap to winters?
  10. I have thsse, turned upside down as the sport line seats don't have have the headrest bars as you say. You can tuck at the bottom, but they do come loose at the bottom, but do the job. https://www.amazon.co.uk/BRICA-Deluxe-Seat-Kick-Mats/dp/B07CBPLZKW/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=car+seat+kick+mats&pd_rd_r=c5098a8a-0a37-42e6-8eef-2b276b6617d0&pd_rd_w=PBlIY&pd_rd_wg=fJQHm&pf_rd_p=7651c268-32cc-44fd-b40e-e92ca52cc2d9&pf_rd_r=Q26YWKVEFSBGFCVJJR5W&qid=1629390113&sr=8-5
  11. Congrats on the purchase! Burnouts and donuts then perhaps? :-) Or put on Gumtree / the bay, if they are priced right someone will take them.
  12. Another option is dedicated summers and then winters. Depends on where you live really and what ave temps you think you will experience, significant journeys in summer or winter or vice versa etc. Summers - I still have bridgestone OEM fits on. Winters - bridgestone blizzaks and dedicated with 18 borbet alloys
  13. Hello! Looking at some options for my estate 2018. Requirements - Would like to fit a roofbox AND a full sized bicycle alongside (road or MTB). Therefore looking at a family sized box of approx 75 to 80cm wide, on a through roofbar such as Thule wingbar or Yakima whispbar. Has anyone got this combo? If so what do you have? Welcome other pics and specs of roofbar and roofbox combinations. Have used the search and found a broad range of set ups but not box and bike afaics. Roofbox.co.UK recommending kamei 310 husky with Thule or whispbar it would appear. Cheaper options of steel bars also. Thanks
  14. Indeed I guess they price back near rrp and the volumes a lot lower / good profit on those people who feel they must match up rather than buy a new pair or change all four etc.
  15. to come back on my own findings https://www.tyres.net/ appears to collate price history, sort by cheapest from multiple retailers and also is cheaper than direct. Plus 6% topcashback. all adds up to approx 100 pounds saving when buying 4 tyres, compared to buying direct from for example mytyres or similar.
  16. Same here Borbet alloys and mytyres order made recently
  17. Big S3 winter wheels and tyres thread here

Thanks, yes aware about the all season category of that tyre. Have been reading / watching the tyre reviews site which suggested a decent all season tyre might be a way to go. But an outsider in think and non point getting all season with a separate set of wheels for winter and summer now. So winter tyres it is. Borbet site is great, loads of choice and as you say v helpful on config, matching bore sizes, many other manufacturers say spigot rings needed etc. Plus TUV approved and so on. Borbet wheels ordered and only a 2 week lead time, compared to other brands such as sparco which were saying October or no dates at all.

nice wheels also! i am going the same route, borbet alloys and winters. bought the wheels, just waiting to grab the tyres and get them all fitted up for winter where we expect to be driving a bit more than previous years. trying to choose between bridgestone weather control a005's blizzak's goodyear ultragrips
  20. Put a double USB cigar charger in the 12v job done. Will charge better than USB also depending on the cigar charger chosen.
  21. New to me 2018 280 sport line New winter wheels planned and a few other accessories.
  22. fraz8888 replied to xman's topic in Tyres & Wheels

  23. fraz8888 replied to TK699's topic in Tyres & Wheels
