  1. Spoke too soon. Did not work. Handle stays in, but does not pull the lock open. Will try adding more to the stack and then maybe heating and bending. Chap in Scandinavia seems to sell a mod / metal plate which is the same intended effect as the glued and stacked plastic addition but in metal. 50 dollars is a bit steep... https://www.ebay.com/itm/157210800201
  2. Thanks for this. After another pop out, I have copied this. Cut an old credit card up, glued with gorilla glue and refitted. Hopefully that will sort for the foreseeable.
  3. went brembo's with matching pads with my local garage. awesomegti too busy to reply to let me know when they had a next slot in their schedule. prob saved myself some decent wedge in the end
  4. Not sure about the present styling packages, seen the 265PS in the l and k, the orangey leather not too bad, would like another sportline if possible for MK4 if they improve the styling and choices a bit more.
  5. is this for real? Skoda Superb RS and
  6. brake disc and pad replacement time awesome gti have recommended their own brand of drilled discs by rears 310mm https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-car/volkswagen/eos/vagbremtechnic-clubsport-replica-310mm-rear-brake-discs/ fronts 340mm https://www.vagbremtechnic.com/vbt-cross-drilled-340x30mm-front-brake-discs-5529844212d/ pads they are suggesting are EBC yellow stuff... https://www.awesomegti.com/temp/ebc-yellowstuff-front-pads-superb-3v/ https://www.awesomegti.com/ebc/ebc-yellowstuff-rear-pads-superb-3v/ the rears seem to say for 300mm discs though, need to check with them on this. edit: checked the EBC site and the same part number looks to be a match for the 310 on the EBC filters DP42173R and DP42127R has anyone else swapped out discs and pads to something they would recommend? RAC insurance say the above are fine with them as not classed as a modification.
  7. digging this one out again. Michelin, my independent, blackcircles, others recommended their primacy 4 tyres for my 280 superb. RAC insurance have ok'd them also even though they are the VOL homologated version.
  8. noting here that skoda now saying for petrols inc my 280 that cambelt / timing chain changes not needed to well over 100k miles now. was a bit of a surprise to me. Am still considering a change and perhaps waterpump also, as Skoda then followed up with if a failure does occur, as timing chain / cambelt is a wear and tear part then no warranty cover (i have extended warranty at present)
  9. found this thread after talking with my local dealer. 280 2018 4x4 estate Post recent service, the desk staff, ooh your timing chain will be needed next. Fast forward a month or so, with mileage / timing nearer the 50k or 5 years (car is on 33k miles now but at 5 years old). Rang up today and they quoted what is mentioned above re the change. Petrol not needed until well over 100k. Then only timing chain needed, water pump not generally needed Feels like a quite a shift. Asked for prices anyway if I prefer to get done. 575 for timing chain only, nearly 800 with waterpump. if a failure does happen in the meantime, they clarified to say as timing chain is a wear and tear item, then warranty would not cover! Whats the consensus re getting done or not? Esp for 280 petrols?
  10. sorry to say it, have you considered ripping your cd's onto a sd card? very easy with old and newer pc's, laptops etc and then you have all your cd's on the data card to browse and play. I use exact audio copy / EAC https://www.exactaudiocopy.de/
