Cool. I am near Warrington Cheshire. Are you trentham way?
  2. I am assuming peak of summer is a good time to buy winter tyres? i.e. the seasonal opposite will typically yield the best value as long as stock is available and not constrained? (putting aside inflation - boom boom ) tyre price tracker - anyone aware of a similar price tracker (with history) for tyres - like three camels is for amazon listings? I can only find subscriber services or 3 camels i.e. tyre sales via amazon uk https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B01F8NTLGC?context=search

Tyre storage does anyone recommend a tyre rim tree trolley or similar? this one seems to get good reviews from folk https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cartrend-10441-Trolley-Mobile-Protection/dp/B07KBCFKTH i have thought about asking my local specialist tyre fitter to look after alloys and tyres - but what if they went bust - i figure recovering my property might be challenging if they suddenly shut down. Hence storing at home feels safer.
  4. bump for a question please locking wheel nuts / bolts - what are people using (if you are using) with the 19 inch vega alloys? McGard or skoda or something else? Thanks
  5. for it would be as a minimum auto / DSG rear camera - however lots of cars don't have this, you can retrofit relatively reasonably, otherwise you'll struggle to find a car with this / whatever other spec you are looking for (colour/age/miles) as for lane assist - i turn it off all the time, very annoying for country roads etc
  6. Question: has anyone gone 17x7.5 ET35 with a 215/55/17 tyre? looks like it will be ok compared to existing sportline vegas and 235/40/19 Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 15.4mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 2.7mm more than before. Alternatively, going with 18 inch winters the only choices I have seem to be 1. 18x8 et48 - so would be 4mm closer. this is the wheel I would prefer in terms of look but not the ET (sparco assetto gara) 2. 18x8 et35 - much better spaced, but not in my first choice of wheel. (sparco DRS or trofeo 5) all the above wheels would need spigot rings - cant seem to find many 57.1 new wheels available
  7. have a look here - not that simple it would appear unfortunately
  8. Failing to source some winter wheels atm Team dynamics apparently have not delivered any wheels out of their factory since last sept since being acquired Sparco can't deliver until end of September and they don't do 57.1 centre bore wheels so spigots needed. OEM blades 18 inch seem not to be available second hand let alone new, choices from caffeyrns don't appear to suit the S3 sport line that well. Ideally was wanting a lighter wheel, close to the sportline look, so looks like aftermarket might be the only way, perhaps BBS.
  9. Hello, question about retro fitting an OEM camera. Will this invalidate the Skoda warranty on the car?
  10. There also a big thread in the guides section I have only just found!
  11. thanks for the wheel size link which suggests for the 280 4x4 (2018 for me) the following: 215/55ZR17 94W 7Jx17 ET40 235/45ZR18 94W 8Jx18 ET44
  12. Bump to ask question re a winter wheel set Will 17 inch wheels fit on a 280 4x4 estate? Or best to go for 18's for brake clearance? Thanks
  13. How many miles are you getting out of them? Thanks
  14. My bridgestones look a bit cracked to me, may put some all seasons on. Hankook kinergy 4S2 look OK perhaps? https://www.tyrereviews.com/Article/2020-Tyre-Reviews-All-Season-Tyre-Test.htm
  15. Received my new (to me) late 2018 280ps 4x4 sportline with 20k. Coming from an audi allroad 2.7tt 2001 that I had owned for 11 years which sold very well on ebay recently. v pleased to discover hidden towbar with electrics and spacesaver spare wheel - car was advertised without mentioning these options which I had been looking for. got a bit of a list building of bits to do / small fettles. also found previous owners medications stashed under the passenger seat in the secret under seat cubby - nothing exciting alas... on the list wheel spacers to fill out the arches a little perhaps locking wheel nuts (they dont come as std for some reason) wheel nut covers - might paint existing which have gone a bit white / grey winter wheels and tyres or perhaps buy some all seasons when needed next new kids car seat covers install OEM reversing camera (sashagrace already pm'd ) VCDS coding tweaks and scans - i have vagcom rosstech lead from my previous audis (allroad and S4's) pressure test on turbo hoses DSG service maybe (haldex done recently) need to pick up some oil maybe dog guard - had a partition net screen on the allroad which was good for packing up the boot and ensuring nothing came forward, looks like OEM dog guard is the way to go from skoda accessories catalogue oh and insurance and vehicle tax coming up to the end of the manf warranty period, so looking at a pre-end of warranty check over to catch anything that might be needed. then prob buy the skoda extended warranty with service package (seems good value at just 30 pounds or so a month)
  16. the diono covers are good, you can choose the single seat covers or there is the XXL for the whole rear seats (not tried the XXL but considering it atm) https://store.diono.uk/ultra-mat-xxxl/
  17. I have this type of seat with my recaros in my Audi 2.7tt. I think they are great and add a touch extra leg support for me. If you have longer legs pull out further, if not close up.
