  1. I went for Audi S5 alloys with 10mm hubcentric eibach spacers despite almost everyone saying they wouldn't fit. I bought longer wheel bolts just to be on the safe side.
  2. Just out of interest, did the skoda seats just bolt in? Im actually wanting to put Audi seats in my Superb!
  3. I don't have the part numbers yet, but when I collect it in a fortnight they should be on the invoice so I can let you know then. I thought exactly the same as you with reference to the handling, so I went ahead after a lot of research and bought the Bilstein B14 kit (BLS47-127708) Is the code Demon Tweeks gave me, it has transformed the car, it handles amazingly. Over a grand but worth it, I've had an S6 before and this is almost identical. Interestingly, the box turned up with both Bilstein and SEAT logos on it so it must have been standard equipment on something they did at some point. The shocks have the following part number (I'm sure you could buy them separately) F4-BE3-C772-H3. I'm running 19" Audi alloys with 10mm spacers and 235/35/19 Uniroyals. Really can't fault the handling.
  4. Nice one, cheers, I've just ordered some APR coils and NGK plugs, might not make any difference, I guess I'll see! I think I'm addicted to throwing money away!! 😂😂😂 You just can't beat a proper service history.
  5. CCZA is a gen 2, but almost identical to the gen 1 apart from some slight tweaks to the emissions. The main issue is that we have the early cam chain tensioners so it's either wait and see if they fail or replace.
  6. Mine is a 2012, it's just been in for it's 60k service and the garage pointed out that it has the CCZA gen 2 engine with the earliest type tensioners, it's going in on Friday to have them replaced and also an irritating vibration at approx 1800rpm fixed, that has turned out to be the plastic fuel lines which will need to be removed and wrapped. The job is going to be about £1100, using parts from VW locally. It's a big bill, but like you I'd rather have it done as a preventative measure as the car is mapped to @270bhp.
  7. I have one fitted to mine, it does increase airflow marginally, although you'd probably not notice. Ignore the comments about "heat soak" and cool air, our cars are fitted with intercoolers. I have found that you may need to upgrade your diverter valve with one from GFB as a remapped car with an intake will likely cause the standard one to fail. I also had to replace my intake manifold as the vacuum "valve" in that was killed by the extra airflow.
  8. Yes overall I'm quite pleased with the superb, I had a Golf GTi Mk7 as one of my other cars, (along with an old Flying Spur and Saab 9000 aero), but I couldn't justify the huge difference in value between the Golf and the Skoda, I sold the Golf, bought the Skoda and put £10k in the bank. I just wanted to make the Skoda a bit nicer looking, and more enjoyable. I'll keep it as a daily runner as it has a reasonable mileage and impeccable history, there's not a mark on it. It's useful for long journeys and trips to the tip, and for what it cost, it's worth keeping, even if it's not as fast as the Saab, or as comfy as the Bentley. I get 24mpg on short journeys round town and nearly 40 on a run. It's a pleasant car, although it definitely needed a few minor tweaks to stop my eyes from glazing over with boredom.
  9. Ok official figures in. STOCK - 197.4 bhp @ 5102 Rpm Engine temp ,91deg STOCK WITH INDUCTION KIT - 199.0 bhp @ 5090 Rpm. 94deg REMAP - 262.1bhp @ 4890 Rpm. 92deg REMAP WITH INDUCTION KIT - 263.6 bhp @ 4890 Rpm. 91deg so other than looking cool and sounding marginally better at low speeds, the RamAir kit hasn't done much at all. There's no wastegate chatter or dump valve noise like on my Golf GTi Mk7 with the same kit either.
  10. If Rationale came into it I wouldn't have bought a car as mundane and mediocre as the Superb in the first place. The Idea is to create an interesting more fun version. I'm not concerned about a few quid on an intake, the carbonio ones on my flying spur cost more than the entire Skoda! As am sure even the most limited of imaginations can grasp, whilst writing a remap, it is better to do so with the air intake that the vehicle will be fitted with, regardless of whether or not that intake provides any benefit. Sometimes things are just done for fun, the cost and the effectiveness is irrelevant, but if the sound means the drive is more enjoyable then nobody can put a price on that. Besides, the remap will give it another 60bhp or so, bringing it in line with what it should have had in the first place. It would be a very boring world if we all thought the same or drove "taxi spec" Skodas! Hopefully my own findings may provide a solution to some, distain to others and bring a smile to the faces of many. ☺️☺️
  11. Well you've got me thinking! I was going for plain black, but why not throw caution to the wind and go for Red!! 🤪🤪👍👍
  12. Thanks for the reply, but as I mentioned I'm looking for assistance with a particular thing, not a suggestion to "keep it stock". I have spoken to RamAir technical who have confirmed that the JFK-123BK part fits. Despite the cars original airbox providing apparently adequate airflow, the induction kit will give a touch more and the car will be rolling road re-mapped with the filter in place. Either way, regardless of any or no change in bhp they simply sound better.
  13. Hi everyone, I'm looking at the possibility of fitting an Induction Kit to my Superb 2.0 TSI, (2012). I know RamAir used to list one, but this has now been removed from their application guide, no one there can tell me why, but It's still listed for the Golf mk6 or Scirocco with this engine so I'm confused. Without suggesting "leaving it stock" or "trying a panel filter" , could anyone suggest a sensible viable option that could work? This has got to be the place where the knowledge is!! Thanks in advance.👍👍
  14. Thanks, we spoke about these whilst we there, the technician showed us the hubcentric spacers fitted to the front and rear but the wheel poked out too far from the arches and it looked ridiculous so we didn't fit them, the technician wasn't comfortable sending the car out with them fitted. 5mm spacers are absolutely the maximum I'd want to go and only on the rear. These rims are really on the absolute ragged edge of fitting whilst still looking factory. I'm confident that the current set up is best and that the Garage knows which set up is right.
  15. Ok Guys, here is the finished thing - Genuine Audi Alloys, 8.5j x 19" with an ET48. Tyres are Uniroyal Rainsport 5 at 235/35/19 91Y XL, and the car has been lowered 35mm all round using the Bilstein B14 Coilover kit. All fitted by Demon Tweeks, who said that the fronts were very tight, but clear everything and are safe, and the rears had to have 5mm spacers and longer bolts. A 4 wheel alignment finished a 4hr job off. The ride is firmer, with none of the previous wallow, the car is smooth, planted and precise, the ride is no where near as hard as my Golf GTi. I'm delighted. I just need some centre caps!
  16. I'd not even considered that, but absolutely, a 235 XL would need to be fitted, I've looked at the Uniroyals as I've been happy with them before.
  17. Brilliant, that's interesting, I'd like to think these should go straight on the Superb without any issues.
  18. Makes perfect sense then. It's a beautiful wheel and the Dutch Superb on here with them or something similar fitted is a credit to its owner. I'm wondering if the ones with the part number 4F0601025DE are actually off something else and simply look like the RS6B alloys 🤔, either way they're the ones I was hoping for to go on the Superb.
  19. I'm wondering if the ones with the part number 4F0601025DE are actually off something else and simply look like the RS6B alloys 🤔, either way they're the ones I was hoping for to go on the Superb.
  20. Hi, thanks for this, but the wheel is from an RS6B model and you will see it if you Google the part number 4F0601025DE. This is an 8.5jx19 with an offset ET48. Interestingly, my Old RS6 had totally different alloys. I have seen them on a superb on this site, but I can't see if they are genuine ones. I've replicas with an ET42 but would prefer the Ronal made Audi ones. This style is also on both the A5 AND Q5, but again although the wheel looks the same, it has an ET of 33 and is wider. There's even 20" versions so I'm specifically interested in the one with the part number 4F0601025 DE
  21. All good information, thanks, but I'm not too concerned about the Speedo being out by 1mph, would anyone know of the maximum or minimum offsets required to fit 19"s to the MK2? I've seen plenty of cars with it done, but I can't see any info on this.
  22. Thanks again for the info, I'll be sure to have a look through the pictures thread.
  23. Thanks for the info, the Speedo would be reading less by 0.8mph at 60mph, I can live with that. My local VW specialist claims to be able to recalibrate the Speedo too, but they are reluctant (quite rightly) to give fitting advice on wheels they haven't seen. I was more concerned with the possibility of the wheel catching something like a brake hose or caliper with it sitting nearly 1.5cm closer to the suspension, I was hoping maybe someone had fitted 19"s to a MK2?
  24. Hi, not sure if anyone has done this before, I've been tempted by a set of 19" genuine Audi alloys, I understand the offset will increase from ET46 to ET48 and the rim is an 8.5j as opposed to the standard 7.5j. Willtheyfit.com says the new wheel will sit 14.7mm closer to the suspension strut and poke out 10mm more, does anyone know if this will still give enough clearance? My standard alloys are 18". Any help would be appreciated. The wheels are similar to these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-Genuine-Audi-A6-S6-19-Alloy-Wheels-4F0-601-025-DE-19-x8-5-factory-OEM-/294185672990?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
