  1. Finally located photos of the paint blemishes. You'll notice the similarity to those of "Aviation nut". Clearly, a factory problem - not picked up by the manufacturer, importer or dealer.
  2. After handing the car back I'm afraid I deleted the photos from the phone. I'll check later to see whether I retained any on the computer back up file.
  3. I had the same on both sides of the roof, adjacent to the roof bars. The dealer acknowledged it as a flaw but we were negotiating the rejection of the car due to the technological glitches, so the issue was overtaken by the car's return. (Interestingly, my car was also silver - perhaps a blip in the paint shop that day?)
  4. I rejected my Silver estate SEL FE a month ago. There was so much to admire about the car but the technological glitches served to erode my confidence in the car. The relief experienced after the process was completed was significant. If someone is content to live with the glitches, pending an inevitable solution, great. If not, don't hesitate to enact the rejection process. In my opinion, life is too short to waste the time that so many users have been forced to endure.
  5. I'm afraid I've joined the growing list of owners rejecting vehicles plagued with the technological problems. (It would be interesting to know how many have been rejected over recent months.......) As was stated in the recent article in the Guardian:"If the manufacturer was aware of these faults, it is wholly unacceptable that it has continued to take cash from consumers without fixing the issue." https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/may/01/vw-audi-and-skoda-owners-angry-over-fault-in-sos-warning-system The car has so much potential and is class-leading in so many respects. However, I'm afraid I chose not to live with the unreliability of the technology. A poor experience for me as a customer and a poor episode in the manufacturer's history. I hope that others have a far better experience of this new Octavia than I did. If so, enjoy it - after spending your hard earned money, you deserve to!

  7. Thanks. Fortunately, I don't appear to have the kph/mph problem so my issues include: "unknown" hardware & software as per previous post; SOS warning accompanied by satnav going haywire (rebooting the system by temporarily removing fuses 19 & 30 worked); the esim is far from reliable, but difficult to establish a clear pattern; Skoda connect system rarely operational; "Laura" popping up frequently, unbidden; the car stalling twice (both on roundabouts) when in gear & under load (manual box); intermittent operation of stop/start system; motion gestures work only occasionally; LED ambient lighting pack: uncertain whether it's present or working. As said, there's plenty to admire about this car but it's not been a trouble free three weeks of ownership. (Thanks to all contributors on this site - you've been a great help.)
  8. Thanks. I have the electric driver's seat & the blind spot, but, interestingly, the later(?) device part number listed below. Frustratingly, the software & hardware associated with the control panel is simply listed as "unknown". As said, there are many things to like about this car, but.......
  9. Thanks. I'm uncertain whether it's a 1st edition or not. I only purchased it at the end of last month but I think it was part of a batch the dealer had. I'm also uncertain how to identify the build date. All advice appreciated.
  10. Update: I've reported the tech issues on my SE L estate to Honest John. I received the following reply: "Many thanks. Problems now logged. I referred 14 such complaints to Skoda and the company claimed to be working on them (along with VW and Audi who have similar problems). Rather than have me forward complaints via Skoda's head of PR, he has asked me to refer readers to the executive office directly at [email protected] so they can keep a proper handle on it. Under the terms of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if you buy any consumer durable that proves to be totally unsatisfactory, you have 30 days to reject it to the supplying dealer for a full cash refund. (You actually have longer, but within 30 days the dealer cannot counter by saying he will fix it.)" I followed up with an e mail to the Skoda executive office e mail, receiving a standard acknowledgement. Although I only purchased the car on 29 April (and therefore within the 30 day period), the dealer is keen to have the car in order to attempt a resolution of the tech problems. I have stated clearly, that my preference is to formally reject the car. There are so many elements of this car that are great, but I do not feel confident that the tech problems are going to be resolved soon.
  11. Same issue for me: no internet, sat Nov went haywire & oddly, a tyre pressure warning (when all tyres were fully inflated). Removed the fuses & currently reset. Skoda must issue a recall, given the scale of problems owners are facing - surely?
