  1. Does anyone know which models come with the electric tailgate as standard?
  2. Thanks for the responses. My insurance don’t cover it. If I get the new key from Skoda they automatically disable the missing key as they give the current keys a new code.
  3. I’ve lost the spare key for my 2021 ETech Technology. Skoda want around £450. I’ve tried an independent car key specialist but they can’t do it as it’s too new, they asked if it had virtual cockpit, it does. I’ve also tried Timpsons, they can’t do it either. The AA can do it, but want £450! Any ideas?
  4. I’ve got a 2021 Octavia with Kessy keyless start, need a new spare key. Main dealer want circa £450 for key and programming. Timpsons and another well respected auto locksmith can’t do it because it so new.
  5. Yes it was in last year for the double popping noise from the infotainment system. This issue only started recently as far as I’m aware.
  6. I have the 2021 DSG with hill hold assist and auto parking brake. I’m having an issue with the car refusing to move when I press the accelerator, it leans forward like it wants to go but the brake just won’t release. I think I released the hill hold button last time it happened. Anyone experienced this, is there a fix? Thanks
  7. Does anyone know if you can drive the car without the key using Skoda connect? We have push button start, the key just sits near the ash tray space.
  8. Hi, It was the remote access one, weird thing is, it’s working now. But I’ve used and moved the car since last time I tried, it’s still on the driveway in roughly the same position. Are there intermittent issues with this?
  9. Have the Skoda Connect app, all set up and working for first year. Re subscribed for £36 and now it won’t connect. When I try to unlock it says something along the lines of “Having trouble sending command to car”. It worked fine when I last used it a few months ago.
  10. Was down a couple of days ago, all good now.
  11. They’re 205 16”. Not checked the exact tyre type.
  12. I do have them quite high, 2.6 bar I think.
  13. It’s probably just the weather, wet roads etc. But the rear end feels unstable going round bends, it’s as though it’s bouncing around and going to spin out. It’s only a 1L Etec. Could it be a mix of the wet roads and a small engine with no weight pinning the car down. Previous 2 Octavias were 1.6 diesel, never experienced it with these.
  14. Thanks for the responses. I’ve started a free 28 day trial and it says I need to take driving license to dealer to confirm ownership. But I think I’ve already sat in it with both keys when the car was new and I registered the app 2 years ago.
  15. Cheers Sneal, I’ve entered my vin and it does have the feature, technology model. Do you know if you need both keys to set it up, I read you need to take both keys into the car to set it. We’ve lost one key and are considering this as a very basic back up to at least get us into the car should we lose the last key.
  16. What subscription do you need to unlock the car using the App, also how do you set it up? Cheers
  17. Mine was fixed last year, only experienced it once since.
  18. Had a 2007 Audi A4, it had the best cup holder I’ve ever had in a car. It was mounted in the dash, you pushed it and the holder came out of the dash, it was a decent size too.
  19. Timpsons can’t do it due to it being high spec with virtual dash, well respected local company also can’t do it. Skoda quoted £330 for part and around £70 for the labour.
  20. Just had a look at Timpson, £186 for a generic coded key.
  21. We’ve lost the spare key to our 2021 Etec Se. What’s the cheapest way of replacing it? Thx
  22. I’ve just replaced the battery on the keyfob with a Duracell. The car is 19 months old, I started using the spare key. Now the spare is saying change battery, I’ve only been using it for 2 months, it’s still on its original battery. Don’t know if it’s referring to the spare fob I started using or the one I changed the battery on when I tested it.
  23. Ignore me, just figured it out. You need to have part of the mechanism poking out before pushing the key in.
  24. Changed the battery on my 2021 Octavia key fob, the chrome key which you pull out to open the fob won’t lock into place after changing the battery, if I tug it slightly, it comes out without pressing the button on the side. I think it has something to do with the u shaped spring that the button pushes. Any ideas? Thanks
  25. Cheers for the responses, not overly worried about it now. It seems to be an issue with the battery that controls the hybrid and other things being drained. 1st time it happened air con was on without engine running, when it happened this week, the blower was on to clear windscreen without engine running. As the RAC man said don’t worry about it. Silly VW over the top warning!
