  1. No, that can't be it. Can't see my car on the lorry in the picture But seriously, very interesting article, great info, thanks! I've been searching the web for reasons for the delay and found nothing that's directly related to Skoda (the semiconductor shortage has been known for months however during the same period people (except me) have been getting delivery of their ordered Skoda cars and I have found no info from Skoda on how they are being affected by the semiconductor shortage. Until now!) Guess both mine and @blasje32 cars are stuck on that airport waiting to be completed when chips finally arrive. I found two other articles on the same site with additional information: https://www.newsy-today.com/skoda-moves-almost-finished-cars-to-hradec-kralove-airport-they-lack-chips-ct24-czech-television/ https://www.newsy-today.com/there-is-a-giant-parking-lot-from-the-airport-in-hradec-unfinished-skoda-will-be-here-for-months/ (Skoda HQ Sweden still thinks the correct strategy in this situation is to completely stop communicating with both customers and dealers. They seem to be completely clueless and have certainly not understood that any news, whether good or bad, is better than no news. They have failed to understand that customers need to be able to make alternative plans and news, good or bad, enables that )
  2. Thanks for the info! My guess still holds, ie that it is the auxiliary heater that is the reason why I'm not getting my car, but I can rule out the DCC. I assumed that it also served as an engine heater, that's why I ordered it. Bummer. "Black comet", great looking alloys! Saw that the Sportline trim is now offered in Finland and that the hatchback version of the Octavia is still "buildable" on skoda.fi. Either Skoda doesn't like Sweden or Skoda Sweden are clueless, because no hatchbacks are longer "buildable" (neither the Octavia nor the Superb) on skoda.se (if it's just an IT oversight or whether hatchbacks no longer can be ordered, I don't know) and the Sportline trim is not selectable for the estate, which it is in Finland. Weird, two countries right next to eachother with the same climate.
  3. Fewer codes here in Sweden but meaning about the same (did not get all, only the last four): 6 - with production order 7 - vin 8 - in transit from factory/in transit to Dealer 9 - at dealer I've been stuck on 6 since the second week of May and still am. Dealer claims that Skoda HQ Sweden says that the car has been built but that there are parts still missing (beats me how it can be built when there are parts missing ). Have contacted Skoda HQ Sweden several times asking for more information and they say they will get back to me but they never do. Poor customer service and poor communication seems to be a common factor regardless of country when dealing with Skoda (in times when a little effort is required on their behalf). The dealer has been supportive though.
  4. Congrats! Great looking car! Did you get it with auxiliary heating? DCC?
  5. Thanks for the codes! I'll be sure to get the exact code that I'm stuck on and its description the next time I contact the dealer. It will be interesting to compare to the ones you've provided.
  6. Well I read the forum before I placed my order. I hoped that the problems would have been solved by the time my car would be built. And who knows, that might still be the case because as far as I know (however I don't know much, thanks Skoda!), my car has still not yet been built. I find that the Skoda Octavia mk4 is the car that best meets my requirements. Cancelling my order and settling on another car, a car I've already rejected in favour of the Octavia, just doesn't feel right.
  7. Well, I'm happy for you No, I can't be 100% sure. I have not seen the order in the system with my own eyes. However the Skoda HQ has found my order in the system so I deem it highly unlikely that both the dealer and different people at Skoda HQ are lying to me I have different theories to why. One is that some countries are of less importance to Skoda and customers in those countries have to wait longer. I've heard from a dealer in Sweden that they no longer accept orders on new Kodiacs because all new Kodiacs go to Germany (true or false? I don't know. Skoda is sure as hell not going to confirm). Another theory of mine is that there is a shortage of auxiliary heating components. I don't think auxiliary heating is something commonly selected as an option in "warmer" countries (in Portugal for example). It does not even appear to be an available option in some countries. If this theory is true and all that is missing are the auxiliary heating components, would it not be nice if Skoda would say so and give me the opportunity to de-select this option in order to get the car built as soon as possible? Auxiliary heating can be added later by the dealer. I've heard of other car manufacturers offering this kind of solution to their customers (not specifically in regards to auxiliary heating but in regards to other options, ie de-select these options and get your car delivered sooner).
  8. Encouraging that many of you are getting your cars . Frustrating that I have been waiting longer than most and still haven't got mine . Late January - order was entered into the system. Nothing special: Octavia TSI 150 hatchback, manual, STYLE package, DCC, auxiliary heating. Was promised automatic status updates via email from Skoda (factory). Mid March - dealer told me that the factory had assigned my order a preliminary build week 13 (ie first week of April). No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update. Second week of April - contacted the dealer and asked about status. Dealer told me the preliminary build week had been changed by Skoda to week 18 (second week of May) and given no explaination as to why. No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update. Called Skoda HQ in Sweden and they said they would look into it and get back to me. Next day second week of April - the dealer called me (not Skoda HQ) and said that the factory had assigned my order an official build week 18 (second week of May). No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update. Fourth week of May - contacted the dealer and asked about status and the dealer said that there had been no status updates since second week of May. Don't know the exact status the car had been given that week but it was something like "gathering parts for assembly". No email from Skoda factory regarding this status update. Called Skoda HQ again and they said they would contact the factory and get back to me. Haven't heard back from them since. So I'm stuck är "gathering parts for assembly" and I have not once received an email from the Skoda factory regarding the status of my order. Well, I might get lucky. Somebody has probably just forgotten to update the status and the dealer will probably call me tomorrow saying that I can fetch the car next week. Waiting would be a lot easier if Skoda could provide more informative status messages. For instance, would it not be better if "gathering parts for assembly" was at least replaced by "gathering parts for assembly. Expected date for assembly is currently unknown". I know, I have low expectations. But at least I would be able to conclude that this is probably going to take awhile and I would then be able to stop hoping and make other arrangements regarding car dependent activities planed in the near future (yeah, I was dumb enough to believe in the official build week assigned by Skoda and I sold my old car a few weeks ago so now I don't have a car).
