  1. Never before in any car have I owned have I had to top up coolant level in between annual service . It's happened again the warning a few months before service due and the level is below the minimum line. Should I query this with my service centre or just buy some coolant and top up myself? Octavia Rs 2021 49000km
  2. Had my steering wheel replaced, no problems since . Hope yours gets sorted soon
  3. I would do the same if I get any more , glad you are happy with your new car choice
  4. I'm glad to report that since my steering wheel was replaced a few months ago I've not had any annoying false alarms, feels like a new car 😁
  5. I had my steering wheel replaced today and for the first time in a year I managed to drive without any annoying dings and warnings. It was bliss. I hope it lasts. I'm in Australia
  6. So annoying eh, I am getting the steering wheel replaced next Friday. If it doesn't work I'm tempted to return the car it's really not good enough and so frustrating
  7. I am having the same issues since bought new Octavia in June 2021. Still not fixed . I had car booked in for a 'software check' , of which there hasn't been one released, then a steering wheel change, which was not done as Skoda said that wasn't the issue so even though it has been ordered by my dealer service centre they couldn't put it into car. Wtf. Now I am back at service centre as they told me they will replace the wheel, but have to reorder it. . So over the annoying noisey warnings on the dash and also my volume doesn't work on media so I enjoy some drives with no sound. Great! So over it. Apart from that the car is great ðŸĪĢ
  8. I've had my new Octavia RS for a few months now and the car is telling me to replace key fob battery already. Is that acceptable? Should I ask for a new battery free of charge ?
  9. I only really noticed this when I was looking for the face level vents when I bought mine in August. Doesn't bother me in the slightest now , I quite like them there, you can direct upwards anyway so don't see an issue
  10. Yes , I noticed that the car needs to have been running for a bit to became to use that smart function, but I drove to work for 15 mins and it still wasn't available the other day. My Toyota Corolla 2006 heater works like a furnace after about 2 mins. Go figure!
  11. I took mine to the dealer today to report my software issues that I have experienced in my month of ownership, namely: 1.Infotainment screen on but blank and unresponsive on a few occasions. 2. Temp select number dissapeared and unable to select temp. 3 Android auto disconnecting. 4. ACC not allowing overtake of slower moving vehicle on left. 5. Intermittent keyless entry issues i.e not locking with sensor swipe on handles. Apart from the that the ride quality is great. It will be interesting to see what they come back with once they have reported the problems to the service dept as the dealer and not heard of any issues. I recorded a video of the screen not responding for them to look at too.
  12. @davefromsydney I went to the mySkoda app on my phone, once you have registered the car with the VIN it appears in your 'garage'. Clicking on the 3 dots at top right you can select manuals and load it from there
  13. According to this from the downloaded manual it should recognise free speech, I'm guessing that means it determines what you are asking it without set phrases per se ? Here in Oz our cars are not 'online' though
  14. When using Android auto, pressing the button on the steering wheel activates the Skoda voice assistant
  15. I'll have a play today and let you know
  16. Yes you can say 'set temperature to X degrees and it will change to desired temperature, I did that yesterday
  17. I'm not sure what it's supposed to do. I'm also using Android auto. It connects wirelessly but sometimes just disconnects which is annoying. Sometimes it's fine..ðŸĪ”
  18. @TheUltraRunner I was driving in comfort mode
  19. I have the petrol 2.0 RS wagon here in Oz. I've just done a 600km basically all freeway drive with zero traffic (thanks covid) . My tripmeter showed 6lites/100km for the trip which I was pretty happy with. I can't see it getting any better than that. It is super quiet, and very comfortable to drive, feels like a limo ðŸĪŠ
  20. This is the same with the petrol version which I have. Octavia RS MY21 Defaults to normal mode once engine switched off with no way to set user preferences as the car is not 'online' in Australia. Bit naff.
  21. I just drove from Newcastle to Kingscliff a solid 7 hour drive. Thoroughly enjoyed the drive experience too. Mostly used comfort mode. No issue with road noise, however I am moving up from a 2006 corolla so it feels amazing! The adaptive cruise worked very well as does the lane assist. Need to find some more interesting roads to drive now and test out the sport mode 😁
  22. Jesus! That should give them enough time to sort it out! My rear doors wouldn't open this morning from the inside, had to restart and stop engine then it worked , also the smart AC functions such as warm feet just could not select. I'm so annoyed by these little things which detract from how good the car is to actually drive
