  1. Yes new hardware. I marked the screen before it went in. And if you look at all my posts there are a lot going back 12 months. When my car arrived it had the latest software then. 9 times they attempted a fix before changing the process and screen
  2. If you look back at all my posts you will see previous stats. My display and processor were changed and all is now good. Don't settle for even one fault they are obliged to fix it. Just keep saying what doesn't work i kept presenting them with a list. And I badgered skoda uk on social media and a top manager rang me and open a dispute. Yes it took 12 months but it was always going to as the problem is across audi vw skoda platforms.
  3. So hi all here I am again to update you software wise. It is now 1year and 3weeks since I picked up my VRS. 9 workshop visits all of which failed to deliver a full working car software. See all my previous posts. Having posted and followed all peoples postings and given my issues, with my engineering head on it was my conclusion that without a new head unit and so a faster processor it would never be right. So I gave up trying to argue and resided to the fact of living with the crappy software. Then out of the blue a call from Skoda saying we have a fix... Mmm I said... Trust us they said. So dropped off at the dealers had coffee biscuits and a chat as I feel like I work there now! On my way in the courtesy car and await the call. Expected a come and pick up the next day.... But no wait.. 4 days later.. Hi its ready and all is good they say... Mmmm we will see I said. Eat my words I must now do! It's a miracle everything works as it should... Finally. What's the secret I ask. Oooh new head unit and processor they say. [see pic] loads up in 3seconds now and after 3 days trying to make it break I can't 😊 finally a working car. Only taken 12 months but.... Thankfully it ok now. So stick with it people keep giving Skoda hell and eventually it will be ok. 🤞👍
  4. Hi all. I still have 1803 on mine from back end of last year. Luckily for me when I last got the vrs back from the workshop. Last chance before I gave it back for good by the way. Touch wood it has behaved very well. So the only issues I have now are not remembering the sat nav back settings. And occasionally slow to load up when getting in. But i just use android auto for maps and it's fine. As I love the car to drive. I am just living with it. Shouldn't have to but there will be no fix coming any time soon.... It has done 4 ota updates also in this time but nothing changed as I can notice. Shame all round as my dealer is totally unsupported and it will be my last Skoda for shure which is a shame as I have had 5. Hope you all get some fixes. Oh and by the way my app lock and unlock now work as well.
  5. Hi, it all depends on what version your head unit is. Unfortunately you just won't be able to sit there and try everything out. Some people have been lucky while others worldwide have not. I can only speak about my vrs but hopefully your car will be ok. Its so hard with software on anything but i just don't think they tested it enough before releasing. All i said to skoda uk was you wouldn't buy a kettle that didn't boil water so why should i put up with software that doesn't do what it is stated to do. Good luck fingers crossed for you.
  6. So to continue my sarga. My dealer had the car back 4th time for 1 week in total. Uk skoda on the case still with it all. Most things now work. But the issues that linger on are with maps back settings. I have been told that nothing can be done until skoda have addressed this with a software update that they say is now a worldwide problem. And that when it is done i will get a call back from my dealer. On the whole my full list of problems has been resolved to a point. But I will still continue to bug the hell out of my skoda uk case manager until i have a full fix.
  7. So here we go, i said i would update you all. So they had the car for 2 days to sort the mess out.... Again...! Got it back and have to say that for the last 12 days all the SOS and braking issues have gone and it workes as it should.... But none of the other issues have gone away. Slow to load up, not seeing key profiles, not remembering some back settings on heating and map's. So i waited for my Skoda uk manager to call and told the story again. Saying that it is still not acceptable and i am not chasing anything from this point. If i don't get a plan from them and my dealer the car will be returning for good. That was four days ago. Today i had an email from Skoda Uk to say my case manager is on it. Just now had a call from simpson skoda to say they need the car for 1 week to resolve it in conjunction with the factory. So 24th its going back again, big words but if they don't deliver its going back for good. So watch this space and i will report back.... 😳
  8. And one again as i said i would an update on my vrs software. Picked up the car from Simpson skoda again yesterday. Having been with them one and a half days. All fixed i was told software stripped and reloaded all should now be good. Real answer.... BULL#&1T No difference to when it went in really. Still not remembering settings and screen slow loading. So now going to channel though skoda uk for a replacement or refund as not fit for purpose. See what they say and report back guys. By the way the software version was no different to the one i had so they obviously dont have a full fix...
  9. And so it goes on.... Car still booked in for Monday. Skida uk case manager called again yesterday to say she had been in contact with Simpson skoda re all the issues. Ok thats fine talking the talk, but can they deliver? We will see next week. So still having the issues but this morning it went up a notch. 6am wife and myself on our way to work. Screen slow to load up. Nothing new there. But just learned to ignore it now! 15 mins in pop pop pop sound again. 15 seconds or so later SOS system fault on the dash. Which then cleared. 3seconds later random breaking which i canceled by pushing the accelerator. Lucky no traffic in front or behind at that time in the morning. 5 seconds after that SOS system starts to call the emergency service. Sos button goes red. Pushed button to cancel and no response. So i am connected and have to apologise to the person. They then terminate the call and it dials again! This time it let me reset... Thankfully. Have reported this to my dealer and Skoda Uk. Think i will be giving them one shot at this next week. Here's living in hope for a fix otherwise the VRS is going back to them. Keep you u updated people 😢 To be continued.......
  10. So to update after complaint to skoda uk. Was contacted by my case manager last night. And she wanted to know all the details of my software issues. So i updated her with the whole story and sent files pictures over as well. Needless to say skoda will not confirm or deny known softwsre issues. But thats fine. As i stressed the main concern is the autonomous breaking. Since the last dealer update. Popping noises from the dash as well. There is a post on the forum where it was captured on a dash cam, so i know its the same issue as i have. So from here skoda uk will be working with my dealer i am told, and i should get a call early next week with an update. Which i will let you all know of.
  11. Well here we are now on Thursday nearly a whole week since it was in the dealers. And still worse than wen it went in. Oh and now im getting the clicking and popping issue noted in other posts on the site. So add that to the long list. But got an email asking how i am enjoying my new car from Skoda... It said you can direct message us on twitter....! So I did.. Best someone there hates me now? They got the lot. But i must say they kept up the contact back and forth for all my issues and details. So just waiting for my case manager to call. More people should do this as it may help us all with a fix.
  12. So the continuing sofware saga. Friday all day the car was in skoda Preston for a supposed known software fix. See pics of worksheet and sofware info. Which by the way has not changed since i received the car. So after the weekend of driving i can now report that the software is now worse than when it went in 😬😭 day two after picking it up it was stuck on sofware updating for the 20 min journey i was making. Then said complete at next start up. From this point.... I am now getting the Sos popping noise that other people have reported. So overall it was a waist of a day in the dealership. Am ringing this morning to see what they say.... Keep you posted 😤
  13. Well i said i would report back. Don't get to excited people... Dropped off at the dealers 8 am got call 3pm to say its ready. I had given them a list of 9 issues. So when i picked it up they said skoda uk were aware of current issues and there was a software patch to fix things. See the pic of what the work sheet said attached. All good i said and drove home. Has it solved any of the issues I hear you ask. Well i can confirm that the work they did has done only one thing off the list and that appears to be remembering the clima control settings. So at present its a no on all fronts... But will keep you all updated over the weekend before I call them on monday.
  14. Well as i posted some time ago. I have had software issues that came and went away for a while. But now they are back and becoming annoying. So its into my local dealer Simpson Skoda Preston this Friday and we will see what the outcome will be? This is my current software as we stand today. See pic att... Now i await the fix or not? But will report back when I know more.
  15. To be honest mate. I seem to be getting off very lightly with it all. Hence why its not going back to my dealer for just the sync function not remembering. But they do seem to know about all the issues that are about. But i called them to ask again about the latest version number and they confirmed at this time it is 1803 goodluck with your issues 🤞
