  1. Excellent. Thank you, that’s just what I was looking for. I will check it again tomorrow.
  2. Can anyone tell me how the new matrix headlights are supposed to work? Just picked my new sportline up and I have the light setting on auto. The manual seems to indicate that if you push the indicator stalk forward to turn full beams on it does something clever not to blind other drivers. If thats the case, it isn’t working on my car…. I think I am missing something - what’s supposed to be so amazing about these lights, and what is the best configuration to select for the best results? thanks
  3. Ordered a sportline late July. Its now at the dealer waiting for me to collect it at some point. Ordered directly, no meaningful extras added so perhaps option choices play a part in what they are able to produce and when (pure armchair speculation on my part). Communication on progress throughout hasn’t been good, it went from ‘being built’ to arrived in a weirdly short period of time. Stopping the chat team from offering updates was disappointing but I started to get inconsistent info from them so had given up on that anyway. With that said, I can’t begin to think how you build a comms strategy to explain the implications of a delayed electrical component to a random member of the public. Then multiply that challenge by tens of thousands of customers and it seems like a no-win situation for Skoda. Overall I guess it’s probably a very difficult situation for everyone involved in building what we are lucky enough to buy and (eventually) enjoy, I feel for them all.
  4. Really? How do you find out what the schedule is for specific models? Also what’s the impact of not using Skoda for a service - presumably they invalidate the warranty…?
  5. Hi, I have a 1.5dsg on order and am quite confused about service intervals. Does it come with variable servicing where the car tells you what it needs and you just wait for the alert to pop up? Or is it a fixed schedule? Or some sort of combination of the two? At the time of ordering I said I wanted the £159 service plan listed on the UK web site and am wondering whether I should have bothered or not… (it says it covers the first 2 consecutive services limited to an oil service and an oil and inspection with pollen filter only). I am trying to understand when I might actually need those services… Any input much appreciated
  6. In your situation Sargan, surely the logic from the traction control should also notice that if the car has a haldex pump that should be actively directing drive to the rear, and the wheels aren’t moving at all - there’s a pretty serious fault condition occurring. Maybe the car will have a hidden fault code stored and there’s just no dash display for it. Or maybe the logic for the fault condition above doesn’t exist period. Will be interested to know what you uncover as they investigate.
  7. Strikes me the car must have seen front and rear wheel rotations speeds as completely different for a prolonged period - ie an error condition. Curious - did it throw up any warnings when the fronts were spinning and the rears did nothing? If not it seems weird it can detect traction control issues in normal driving - but doesn’t alert when the AWD isn’t delivering…
  8. An interesting point - this must be a real logistics headache. I wonder what the quality impact might be of needing to retrofit the missing bits too? I am sure they have a handle on this as it’s an obvious risk area i suppose.
  9. Same here. Ordered late July from UK main dealer. No build date yet and not even a hint as to when one might be given. If I see anything before spring I will be amazed.
  10. At handover do they tell you to take it easy during a run-in period or is that not a thing anymore?
  11. A few weeks ago I was told order accepted by factory. Now I am told it has not yet been accepted. As you say, the inconsistency is terrible. Also got a letter from Skoda recently that asked for patience and said things likely won’t be delivered according to normal lead times and said the dealer would keep me informed (but likely to be some time before they can tell final production date). The only positive bit was that apparently the situation should be improving in the second half of 2021 - er we are midway through that…?!
  12. so if my wife gets out the car and the profile active was hers… and then I unlock the car with ‘my’ key - will the seat automatically go back? Or do I have to manually tell the infotainment system ‘it’s me’ because the key is not longer linked to it? As each of us will have our own keys and we won’t swap them, I am hoping things will work just fine…
  13. Can I ask a simple question - if I have three key option (one key for me, one for my wife and one spare) - will a brand new UK Kodiaq remember the driver’s seat position for each persons key and start adjusting it when I unlock the car using each persons individual seat? (I ordered 3 key option and electric seats hoping this would be the case…)
  14. The Skoda UK order forms I’ve seen have a derivative line but it outlines the model only, (e.g. sportline 1.5dsg) which is the same pre and post facelift so there is nothing on my paperwork that I could see which ensured I would be supplied a facelift. There’s no chance I am risking even a 1% chance that a dealer might supply a stock car and give me a last season model for new season money. Even though the sales guy was really good- who knows he might not even be working there next week! So I just made them write on the form that they will definitely supply a facelift. They were happy to do it and understood why I wanted that on the paperwork given the cost and comfort level a single sentence provides me.
  15. I specifically stated on the order form that they will supply a facelift. It’s a personal thing but I slightly prefer the new grille. But mainly I hope the resale value will be slightly stronger for the facelift in 3yrs, and the price was the same as the pre-facelift. Because I haven’t ordered any options I was concerned that if someone cancelled an order late in the day then I might end up with a pre-facelift bit of stock if I wasn’t very specific about it. Perhaps overthinking it, but it’s a lot of money so I wanted to hedge my bets.
  16. Wow. I didn’t realise you could order a facelift model before the official announcement dates - wish I had now as a build date for mine (ordered end of Jul) seems unlikely for a while!
  17. Qq for last two posters - are you expecting to get facelift models?
  18. Go to the Skoda web site (I am in the UK). Use the contact option and use the chat function (not 24x7). Tell them very specifically you want to know the order status etc, and give them your order number. If you don’t have your order number then they can look it up. Wait five mins for them to go through the system and voila you get an answer. They were able to tell me when the order was processed, factory accepted etc so they’re clearly looking at the system somehow.
  19. Ordered 3rd week July, no build date as of yet. Was told today via Skoda UK online chat (who are able to check order status and are very quick and helpful) that projected build date unlikely to be known for at least a few weeks.
  20. With respect to this comment ‘Updating via Phone or WiFi is essentially the same - for the former, the phone becomes a WiFi hotspot’ To be sure I understand can someone tell me if the car should be able to connect to my home Wi-fi (proximity allowing)?
  21. Humour me - What is MIB? So far we have via a phone, via home Wi-fi, and an sd card as options. Is this for the incar entertainment only? What about other tech that might need updating - like stuff under the bonnet (no idea what!) - is other stuff updated separately via some sort of OBD port? Does a dealer do that at a service? Is it only done if you have a fault?
  22. It will be new (if it ever arrives!).
  23. Hi, I am interested to understand how Kodiaq software gets updated. A few threads suggest a combination of needing to download things to flash drives (I think it was maps), going to dealers for some updates, and some suggestion of over-the-air updates too perhaps? Can anyone break down the different types of update that are possible, what purpose they serve, and what methods are applied? (am rather hoping a new Kodiaq will just use Wi-fi or 4g and get on with updates itself as the idea of a flash drive or going to a dealer for them to press a button seems somewhat archaic in 2021!). Thanks
  24. Colour is a very personal choice. But maybe also consider which colours likely to hide scratches better. A metallic Grey is the halfway house between silver (great to hide scratches) and black (nightmare). I don’t personally think the exterior colour has much bearing on the light levels inside. Keep in mind from what I’ve seen, sportline has a lot of exterior black trim (eg roof bars) - so think about how well that might sit alongside your colour choice.
  25. From what I’ve seen - if rear view camera is important to you then I think it’s part of standard spec on Sportline. Infotainment system is slightly upgraded too (larger screen). When it comes to resale value I always assume (perhaps wrongly) that optional extras are essentially ignored by pricing engines and therefore the more you get in the base spec of the car the more likely you are to have the value of those items picked up in future valuations. Am open to hearing counter viewpoints of course!
