Cambelt and water pump - dealer vs independent
I have my L+K Superb Estate done at an independent with parts sourced from TPS, VW group originals each time. Was very handy when a TPS supplied auxiliary drive belt gave up and totalled the engine. Skoda then had to supply and fit a new engine. I may spend slightly more than getting pattern parts, but I do at least have that peace of mind.

Replacement grill
I had to replace the lower grill on my Superb a little while ago and knowing the part from skoda was about £160, looked elsewhere. Found a pattern part on Ebay and also on Autodoc and Aliexpress. They are out there. google is your friend.

Map update help
I use the SD card slot as have found the USB port to be problematic. Music files red through the USB port okay but map files and speed camera files not so. I get the speed camera files from www.gpspower.net. Just navigate to the Skoda section and you will find them there. Very handy.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
My latest fuel consumption using a mixture of motorway and rural roads is 55 mpg. Not bad at all.

Sat Nav Woes
Try Gpspower.net forum. Navigate to the VW/Skoda section and 2024/25 maps are there. Download a suitable SD car; mines a 64gb one and try that. I did mine and had no issues.

Skoda garage rings me up to tell me it requires a service.
I am lucky in I have an Independent Garage I can trust near to where I live. Being a volunteer Driver and taking people to Hospitals and Treatment Centres they go the extra mile when I have a problem. Dealers equals stealers.

New battery - lots of warning lights!
Take it for a drive and they should all disappear.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
MPG update since i bought the car. In the last 5 months I am averaging 47-50 mpg on a mixture of rural and dual carriageways. Motorway runs which I do every few months or so give much better mileage figures at or near to the speed limits. Not too bad a t all and for I do find it so much quieter than the Mk2 2.0 tdi 170 I previously had.

Noise moving the steering - Official dealer estimated 3k€ repair
I had a steering rack issue just a week or so ago. No noise or warning but whilst driving the display showed a red steering wheel and loss of power assistance. It was very heavy to steer just a few miles home. Independent VW/Skoda specialist had a look and found the steering rack had failed. Cost to replace about £2000. Fortunately the car was under warranty from where I had bought it from so they picked up the bill. For an item that had covered just over 50,000 miles and should last a long time, not impressed. Was it the state of our roads or bad luck? Either way, its fixed and I'm not out of pocket. Find a garage you trust and they will sort it.

Radio goes off when I am trying to charge phone on front or rear power sockets.
New genuine Samsung charger turned up and has done the trick. All is good. Thank you.

Any brand of suspension strut support mount of equal or better quality than the OEM ones?
On a Mk2 Superb I had a similar noise and it was a broken spring. Years ago the wife had a Renault Clio which had a broken spring each year just around MOT time. got rid of that car sharpish.

Radio goes off when I am trying to charge phone on front or rear power sockets.
Tried a few different chargers, and waiting for the snail mail to bring along a new better output rated one. Hope that does the trick but do prefer recorded music to the drivel on air these days.

Radio goes off when I am trying to charge phone on front or rear power sockets.
That would certainly explain it then. Thank you.

Radio goes off when I am trying to charge phone on front or rear power sockets.
I have a 2017 L+K Superb Combi and when I plug in the phone charger in, the radio goes off! Can play music via the usb or cd but its odd. If I plug in the usb lead to charge the phone, radio plays but its a very slow process to charge. Why is this!!! Any ideas please.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
Just to update everybody as to what has been going on. Tried out the diesel versions, 150 and 190 bhp and have bought a L+K 150 DSG version. Not at all disappointed with its pulling power and the 150 seemed quieter. Thank you everybody for your help.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
Been driving a 170 bhp diesel Superb for about 7 years now , so wouldn't want a lower horsed engine through choice. Trying to see the difference between the two fuels.

What fuel consumption are you getting please.
I am currently driving a Superb Mk2 2.0 TDi Elegance which averages about 45mpg overall. I am in the market for a MK3 2.0 Superb petrol or diesel hatch or estate but not the 150 hp models. What sort of fuel consumption are you getting from your cars please.

Colombus unit 5510 wont turn on
Success. Checked the fuses and no issue with those, but removing them must have been a Ctrl Alt Delete sort of action as its now working again. Thank goodness for that. Hurrah!!

Colombus unit 5510 wont turn on
Used the car the day before and all fine. Came to start this morning and no start up screen on the Colombus unit 5510. Everything else seems fine except for no radio. Strange? Off to check the fuses but any ideas would be much appreciated.

SatNav map update
True, but some users may not have the V17 maps. Other ways around it by swapping out units or a standalone TomTom, Garmin or whatever. Technology moves on.

Badge Glue advice
I have used an araldite type of glue and whilst it sets, have taped over the badge to keep it nice and tight to the car. Worked for me.
