  1. Yeh we all know you have a new car but you're not in Croatia. For Croat and I suspect for the rest of Croatia it will be their first look.
  2. Given it's a 4yr old diesel and you're based in NW London, the most obvious question is how many miles has your car covered and what's it's typical journey? Could your DPF be blocked? If it's the DPF symbol rather than the engine symbol that's being displayed, then I'd be tempted to take the car on the motorway, drive at a constant 60-70mph for 15mins with the engine revving at a min of 2500. You may have to use Sport mode or put the DSG in manual mode and select a lower gear to achive that 2500rpm. Hopefully the light goes out otherwise it's back to your original plan.
  3. My car was serviced recently, just wondered if it had been a new software upgrade but guess that bug has always been there. BTW, I meant to say my watch read 10:49 !
  4. I have a MY21 Kodiaq with the MIB3 Columbus system. I arrived 25mins early for my 11am appointment this morning so stayed in the car listening to 5live with the engine off. I'd been listening for a while, glanced at the clock on Columbus and it read 10:35. Thought that must be wrong as my watch said 11:49. I went to alter the clock but of course to do so you have to turn on the ignition. As soon as I turned it on, the clock on the drivers display read 11:49. And then so did the clock on the Columbus! So when I got back from my appointment I tried it again. Seems that whenever you turn off the ignition, even if the Columbus is powered up, the clock display sticks, it just displays the time when you switched off the ignition. The clock on the drivers display seems to change, but the one on the Columbus doesn't move. I'm wondering if it's a software bug? Is it just my car or does that happen with other peoples cars too? As i say it's a MY21 with MIB3 Columbus.
  5. I don't know if it can simply be released from the dash but I do know you can easily disassemble the glovebox. If you've no luck with someone in-the-know replying, that's what I'd do. Check out the first few minutes of this video - it may help. upper glovebox removal
  6. In my experience, the side sensors are only used in two situations, 1 to measure distances to see if sufficient space is available for autoparking and 2 when you are autoparking, it will give an audible warning and display green or red warning lights when say there's a high kerb or dustbin awaiting collection on the pavement. But these are parking sensors - do any of the parking sensors brake your car? I was under the impression it was the single sensor in the grille that brakes the car? The only time parking sensors have auto stopped me was on my last car which in addition to self parking, had the rear cross traffic function. When the system detected say another car approaching whilst I was reversing out of a parking space, or if there was a high verge when I was doing a three point turn on a country road, the system would auto apply the brake. My current Kodiaq has auto parking but not rear cross traffic and it's never applied the brakes whilst manouvering at crawling pace.
  7. For the life of me I cannot understand this. You're running a variable service regime but having the oil change done at 15mths? Noooo !!!! If you're on a variable service regime then you need a 1st variable service. I'm not trying to be awkward but you may be in breach of your warranty. If anything happens with your engine at say 18mths, VW would be entitiled not to pay out because you have not serviced your car according to manufacturers schedule. Just out of interest, why must the car be set to variable servicing?
  8. I can't be any clearer. The two services you have bought are not variable/flexible services, they are fixed services. If you do go ahead with your plan re: 1st service yr 1 and 2nd service year 3, then if it is a 4yr PCP you really are opening up a can of worms because your car will require servicing year 4 - variable or not. It would be much, much easier using your pre-paid services at fixed intervals year 1 and 2, then change to variable. As I say, my own personal preference is for variable servicing, but nobody is getting 'stung'. You're getting two services for £159! You would have paid over double that for two fixed services, you would have paid over £400 for two variable services from a franchised dealer.
  9. If that's what you've been told then I believe your dealer to be wrong but who am I to argue if that's what they say. Service plan covers first 2 consecutive services limited to 1 x Oil Service and 1 x Oil and Inspection Service with pollen filter. Fixed servicing is every 12mth or around 10K miles, which ever comes first. 1st year service is that 1 x Oil Service and the 2nd year service is 1 x Oil and inspection with pollen filter. Variable servicing is UP TO 24mth or around 20k, whichever comes first. In my experience, variable service no1. is not 1 x Oil inspection with pollen filter. As I say, I'm in no position to argue the garage are wrong but I'd advise you to contact VW financial services for clarity. I believe that under PCP, they're the one who actually own the car until the finance is settled. I'd have thought the final word would be theirs. You haven't mentioned how long you intend to keep the car for. Is it a 3yr PCP? No way would I ever get in to the variable v fixed debate - I think that's up to the owner to decide. Personally I've always stuck to variable servicing. That said my current cars are on fixed at the moment, that's because I bought them under same PCP deal with the same 2 services for £159 offer but then settled the finance a few days after purchase. I don't think my car needs an oil change after just 12mth but hey, it can't hurt to have one. Something that's never been explained to me ( and God have I tried asking! ) is if the car travels short distances and under 10k a year in stop/start traffic and the engine never really makes it's operating temp, then why do I need fixed servicing? If oil sensors can predict when the engine needs serviced, why not just have variable servicing? Surely under those conditions, the variable servicing would say your car needs attention at 12mth? The BMW's and Mercedes I owned never gave you the option of two service regimes - both manufacturers use variable servicing and it's the engine that tells you when it needs attention. VW Group do love to confuse.
  10. I'm confused. OP has already bought the service package as part of PCP deal so if you've already bought it, then why not use it? Put simply the package you bought with a new car entitles you to an oil change service in year 1 then oil change + inspection in year 2. The car was filled with long-life oil at the factory so yes, there's no problem adjusting the service intervals, but if you do then the service package you bought is null and void - it only lasts for 1st 2yrs. Read the T&C of the package. If you want to go to long-life then why not simply have the car serviced yr1 and then get the garage to change the intervals when it's serviced year at 2 ?
  11. I don't get the personal number plate thing myself but if it makes the owners happy or gives them that sense of self impotance they obviously crave, then no harm done. It's their money, they can spend it how ever they like. What annoys me are the ones who believe they're so special they're above the law, in other words, those with illegal plates. Now I woundn't bother fining them, I'd just send their cars to the crusher. Problem solved. Sorry Spivo, like DaveMiller I'm wondering what that's all about or if living in Newcastle plays any significance ( I assume the SU isn;t Sunderland then? 😂) but if you were to mount the plate as displayed on the rear of your new car, you'd be looking for a new car under my rule as it's illegal.
  12. No offense but to my eyes that looks a messy design. Much prefer the Sportline alloys. What about the centre wheel covers and covers for the bolts?
  13. Don't quote me on this but from around early 2020, that driving mode not retaining it's previous setting was brought in accross the whole range. I'm led to believe it may have something to with either emissions or fuel economy or something, but fact is cars no longer retain their settings. Yes very annoying as I prefer economy mode therefore have to push the 'mode' button four times each time I start the engine. Directions on sat nav - you sure it's carplay being displayed on digital cockpit and not the built-in sat nav? Skoda connect - Am I corect in saying these face lifted models no longer have personalisation? I'm in IT but fear even Bill Gates would have issues getting MIB3 to work with personalisation. It took me ages to set the system up for two people and even then, Connect gives out false information. My Connect coming up for renewal now it's 1yr old, it's a complete waste of time and money IMO.
  14. They want cuddles? Aw. You're not wrong, it has nothing to do with actually receiving news. They only use this forum as a replacement for a dummy tit.
  15. Why do you want regular feedback? What difference does it make to you if a dealer says "I'll contact you when we have an update" or says " I'll contact you every week with a status report"? It won't make the car arrive any sooner, you won't have any more details, you won't know the expected delivery date any time sooner, so what's the point of regular feedback?
  16. Don't know about new VRs for reason you state, but spare wheel was now std equipment on every other 7 seater in the UK. You can specify a spare with 5 seater but it's a no cost option. I presume that's because it will reduce the maximum boot capacity in a 5 seat car so some people may not want it. Makes sod all difference to the boot capacity in a 7 seater if it's there or not.
