Where do we stand if they've lost our data? After all, this is a service we've paid for?

Mine is doing the same, can now log in, but won't install backup. Which is quite annoying as I drove up to Edinburgh yesterday and will be driving back today, now I won't be able to get my distance trophies or points (I'm sad, I know) haha.

I am also having the same issues; I believed it was because I had changed my phone, but it must be a wider issue if others are having the same problem.

I also did the update, it seemed to work of for me too, although, when I connected my VCDS, there was an error 1555 - Check Software Version Management under 5F - Information electr. It was easy enough to sort out with google and a XOR calculator, but might be worth checking for fault codes if you still take your car in to Skoda dealer (I don't really know how they feel about people updating the firmware on their cars lol).

Haha! In fairness, for such a large car, the 1l DSG goes when you put your foot down! Oh that's so kind of you 😜 haha! It annoys me that they haven't updated the firmware at the dealership when I've taken it for a service like they're meant to!

I'm wondering if it's possible to change my normal steering wheel for one with DSG paddles? I assume the button array has to be the same, but will the paddles work out of the box or will I have to code it in with VCDS, if so, any ideas what to change? Car is a 67 plate Octavia SE Facelift if that helps?

I just want to thank @Wayland and everyone else for this thread and the advice in it . . . I managed to get this done today, and in the rain no less! There's no doubt that this retrofit does have some 'tricky' bits but overall, I think anyone can do it . . . With enough patience that is haha (never again!).

I'm just wondering if I would be able to hot-swap the screens so I might have a bigger one . . . is this possible, or will the Head Unit have to be changed also? Welcome! I am new here too! Oooo . . . Got to love a brand new car . . . except when you get your first scratch/scuff! 😕

I mean, yes, it's impossible for an individual to ensure they are using renewable energy unless they are off grid and using their own solar panels etc; but as I understand it, and paraphrasing bulb, for every unit a customer uses, bulb make sure a unit is produced and put on the grid by a renewable source including solar, wind and hydro. Plus, their gas is 100% carbon neutral as they offset the emissions from the gas they supply by supporting carbon reduction projects around the world. They're also one of the biggest buyers of green gas for homes in the UK. With that being the case, I'd rather be spending my pennies on a company that seems to give back, than those bigger companies that are all about profit. But yes, I completely agree in as much as, the best thing we can do is reduce the energy we use; which isn't the easiest thing as we seem to have become a nation reliant on technological advance and our creature comforts. :')

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but if carbon offset and the environment matters to you as an individual; there's an energy company in the UK called 'Bulb' that uses 100% renewable electricity and their gas is 100% carbon neutral! I haven't found them any more expensive than other energy companies so if this is important to you, feel free to check them out! 😊

Ahh good stuff! I passed on 28th . . . I've done a couple of long journeys but starting to use it more now the weathers turning! Haha, my examiner was grouchy as hell and to make matters worse, he was the examiner that tests driving instructors 😬 Anyhow, nice meeting you budd! 😀
