  1. Thank you for the thorough reply and pointers! Very much appreciated. Would you advise manually looking at the DPF or just through vcds?
  2. Hey gang, hope you’re well. Looking to move from a Fabia Estate to a Superb Estate (mainly because the DQ200 DSG gearbox mechatronic is proving troublesome and leaky. Had it refurbished twice now in 2 years) plus had a baby so wanting a bigger car. what’s your take on the car below? Is the engine fairly reliable in that model year? Is the DSG on the 2 litre engines more reliable? Should I be looking at a new clutch pack with this kind of mileage? Basically anything to be aware of? I work on my own cars for the most part and do/ will do a lot of research on the engine so that I will hopefully know what to look out for when I go see it, but I can’t buy the experience you all have here. thank you in advance! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401105428195
  3. Does that flashing symbol stop too?
  4. Don’t like anything about them unfortunately
  5. I’m also tight. 😅 just want a reliable little petrol automatic for London driving. I service and repair my engines like OCD, but auto boxes are beyond me.
  6. I think I’m gonna make the switch to bmw. They ZF auto box seems to have a much better rep for reliability
  7. What cars have a slush boxes and a small petrol engine?
  8. Is it right that they only fit the dq250 on 2 litre engines and up? Would really like a small engine automatic. London traffic isn’t friendly on the pocket with a big car
  9. I got my unit refurbed. About 15-20k miles ago. £700. Garage offers 6months no quibble. do you now if this gearbox has had the flaw sorted out by a certain year? I don’t want to go back to a manual, but I don’t want this happening every year or so either. Any reliable Dsg boxes out there?? For a budget friendly car anyway 😅
  10. I stand corrected. Oil leaking from gearbox unit. 18 months it lasted 😞
  11. Hi Everyone, my 2012 1.2 tsi fabia gear indicator and spanner symbol have started flashing alternately. Any ideas? Isn’t showing anything on my OBD2. And it isn’t the Mechatronic as I just had that replaced 6k miles ago. M Thanks in advance. Car has done 100k miles.
  12. Hi Ross! Sorry for my tardiness! Nope, I'll still be coming to you. Just with it needing to be on a Saturday, it's been difficult finding the time 😞 I'll get there! In the next month or all being well! Sorry again
  13. Wish I'd know this, that would be sweet!
  14. Hey guys, just wanted to give a shoutout to one of the members here @Cocain I had a radio issue in my fabia mk2, he offered to give me his unit for free! I went to collect it, not only the radio, he fixed some cracked wires in my door loom and ran the car through VCDS to nail down the radio issue, erase any errors etc, about 4hrs all in! and he wouldn't take one penny for it!! It's things like this that make me happy to be a member of this community and i only hope that i can do the same for someone else in the future. Thanks @Cocain top man all around! And he's got a sweet fabia as well!!
  15. Aye 45mins. I'll send you a message mate! Even better!
  16. Wow that's very kind mate! Where abouts in Buckinghamshire? I'm north London, so about 45mins drive looks like
  17. You're right. And I had been using that tissue to wipe my hands before too 🤣 will check again
  18. I'm used to a diesel engine oil making a white tissue pure black 🤣 this is pristine to me lol. Is it that bad??
  19. Not sure if I posted this but this is what the oil looks like at the moment
  20. The Italian tune up from London to Hereford and back did make it a lot quieter and no more 2 second Rattle from the chain in a morning. Maybe it did clear some carbon build up. Who knows!
  21. Now I know the cars definitely been looked after, the previous owners surname was LightFoot 😁😁
