  1. Hi thanks for the reply. And yes as way of an update, that's what is was. Rear left wheel speed sensor. £30 for a bosch one. 1 torx screw and that it to replace. Been perfect for nearly a year now. Thanks
  2. So Abs sensor replaced (£30 bosch one not £115 Skoda mark up one). 2 days now no faults. Usually came up within 15/30 mins of driving
  3. Hi mate I've got ea888 gen 3. Will this valve be responsible for a brief split second rattle on startup? (2015, 120k). Checked chain stretch on VCDS (0.3 intake phase 2.6 exhaust phase), and tensioner through inspection hole (only out 2-3 rings). Changed intake cam adjuster magnet and the oil control valve inside. Temporarily noise gone but back next day. (Only thing left is to do exhaust cam magnet/valve too). And maybe try something else? Hoping it's not a wrecked camshaft. Thanks
  4. Yeah it's only odd because it's intermittent. It clears itself at time 🤔 so either a cable that's damaged or the ring is mucky/disintegrating. I did take the back wheels off for the breaks pads job a few weeks ago. But can't see it taking this long to flag up
  5. Thank you very much. I did take a live reading of all 4 ABS sensors, and the speed reading on the rear left is all over the place. 3mph- then 35 then 4.2 then 18 etc etc
  6. The only thing out of the ordinary that I had was a gearbox service earlier that day. Battery terminals firmly connected. Not sure when they put it on the lift if they damaged an ABS wire? But weird to do that.
  7. Hi did you get to the bottom of this? Facing similar issue but saying rear left
  8. I have had this intermittently yesterday and today (both -5c days) but also with: (Tyre pressure unavailable, abs unavailable, ESC unavailable, cornering lights unavailable Auto hold unavailable) all flash on at the exact same time. If I clear the codes, they go. Then after about an hour of driving in the cold they'll suddenly come on again.Makes for very tedious motorway driving.!!
  9. Hi mate, did you ever get to the bottom of this? Mine makes same exact sound when slowly coming to a stop. It's only done it today (maybe cold weather?)
  10. Thanks for the reply. Yes hopefully. I'm going to inspect physically anyway to be safe, hopefully it really is that good 😂
  11. Hey gang, please see pic below. I have the CHHB 2.0 TSI Engine 2016 - 120k miles. Just took an obdeleven scan at operating temperature after a drive, whilst idling, at the intake phase bank 1 just to look at the degree of adaptation (timing chain stretch) out of curiosity. No real reason. I get the initial chain rattle on a cold start for half a second but I'm assuming that's normal.( Was in my previous fabia tsi with timing chain!) or the tensioner is on its way out 😂 What do you make of it? Can it really be only 0.3 degrees at this age/mileage? Or have the parameters changed and it's actually the exhaust now? Or faulty intake sensor? I'm going to look at the inspection hole this week out of curiosity and see how far the tensioner is out anyway. But would be good to know I'm on the right parameter just to periodically look at it and keep track. Some say the module that emits the readings changed from Bosch to some other brand in the Gen 3 EA888 and this reading isn't the correct one anymore. Any light to be shed by the great minds of BriSkoda?? Thanks 😁😁

  13. The whole concept has always shouted danger to me. Your engine going from OFF, to ON and instant acceleration is the worst way to set off. We would never do it to cars pre-AutoStart. 🤷‍♂️ Just my thoughts of course!
  14. Still to early to tell. The biggest wear on any engine is ignition. Having the engine being used under the same conditions as an amazon delivery van (turning on and off 20 times a day) cannot be better. And I cannot be convinced otherwise lol 😁🤣
  15. As the title says. Would appreciate the recommendations! May need clutch pack/flywheel doing on my DQ250 at some point in the future. Car on 120k at the moment. Thank you.
  16. As well as the sills, on my previous car (E Class) there was also a single front Jacking Point where you could lift the whole front of the car (both wheels) if side access was awkward for whatever reason. Is there any location like that on the fabia Mk2? Or any part on the chassis/frame that could be used to do it? Gonna have to do a cv joint on the street and want the car close to the kerb obviously but need access for a rolling floor jack. Thanks
  17. In first gear theres a slight vibration when setting off/biting point when it's cold. Not sure if that's a clutch or flywheel issue but let's see how far it takes me 😂
  18. Spark plug last done at 84k. Air filter at 75k (that's over due I guess - I've always done it annually. What's £15 and 15mins).
  19. Thanks. I had mechatronics issues in the fabia, so just being extra careful. I reasoned oil changes would help it keep it from premature failure!
  20. Thanks so much for the comprehensive reply ootohere!! I've just updated my profile as I have just bought a 2016 Superb 2.0 TSI with the 6 speed DQ250. The dsg has already had services at least at 38k, 82k and 102k ( it's been surprisingly difficult to get complete history from one single dealer - every dealer I ring unearths more service history for my car!). The previous owner got it serviced at Skoda every 6 months. It's pretty mint. My thinking is, as the car ages, the services should be at least just as frequent, but likely more!
  21. Thank you. Its getting to 120k now on the same gearbox and timing chain etc (2.0 TSI with DQ250 DSG transmission). So looking to to double down on services. I cover 20k every 2.5 years or so, and dsg service is £250 at a specialist independent. Not crazy money. Everything else I can do myself. Even with high quality oil, a standard service would only cost me £60 a go. Twice a year. Plus other filters here and there as needed, probably average somewhere in the region of £300 a year servicing. (Outside tyres etc)
  22. So you would do the transmission twice as often also?
  23. I have read in owners manuals of various manufacturers that frequently: - doing short trips (5 miles or less) - stopping and starting - idling for long periods (basically London driving 😂 where i am), constitutes as severe conditions for the car, and thus typically recommend twice as frequent servicing. (E.g. If normally oil every 12k miles, it should be 6k miles, and so on). Completely fine by me. The question is, would this logically extend to the DSG transmission oil? Instead of 40k miles, should it become 20k? Thanks.
  24. Yeah the cost is quite high. Just because it’s local to me and it’s a high spec one and 4x4. It will mainly be for knocking around London, and going to up to Leeds and back once a month.
