Which exhaust for an Octavia VRS with OPF ?
Vasariah replied to Vasariah's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hum, No one has ever changed his exhaust on an VRS OPF O3 ? Still waiting for some replies -
Hi there There is no real Skoda community in France, so I'm asking you to help me to find which H&R lowering springs fits my Octavia. It's a 2018 VRS Combi with the 2L TSI 245 engine. It's a FWD for sure. I did see the H&R reference is going to be 28833, but there are multiple choices starting from 28833-1 to 28833-4. May I have more details regarding the axle weights (displayed on a label inside the driver door jamb) ? Moreover, my car is DCC equiped. Is it safe to change suspension springs ? Thanks !

What a nice looking car ! I definitely love the R360, brakes and lowering springs upgrades. You were so lucky to find these wheel for 750£. I'm located in France, and RacingLine parts is not common at all. Wheels are so expensive, to give you an idea, it's about 1600€ for a set of brand new wheels ! Well done Jay !

Look awesome with the R360 wheels !

Hi there ! My Octavia is OPF equiped and therefore does NOT produce a lovely exhaust sound. I'm looking for something sporty, but not too loud. I would only like to change the cat-back. As far I know, replacing the OEM OPF by a new one would cause me to remap the ECU. (ECU has been already remapped to stage 1) Do you have any recommandations or videos ? Thanks

Hi there, I recently changed my ignition coils (BOSCH - 0 986 221 072 (ZS-K 1X1 PLUG TOP) and spark plugs (BOSCH - 0 241 245 673 (FQ5NPP332S)) for being ready for an incoming E85 reprogrammation. After an hour ride of about 50 kilometers (yeah I'm located in France), please see below log data regarding ignition misfires (Numb. of misfir.: cylinder x) Sunday,20,February,2022,18:47:21:16365 VCDS -- Windows Based VAG/VAS Emulator Running on Windows 10 x64 VCDS Version: 21.9.0.2 (x64) HEX-V2 CB: 0.4555.4 Data version: 20210903 DS330.0 www.Ross-Tech.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Address 01: Engine (5G0 906 259 S) 18:47:07 IDE00078 Time since engine start 3799 s IDE01775 Misfires per 1000 revolutions of cylinder 1 0 IDE01776 Misfires per 1000 revolutions of cylinder 2 0 IDE01777 Misfires per 1000 revolutions of cylinder 3 0 IDE01778 Misfires per 1000 revolutions of cylinder 4 0 IDE01975 Numb.of misfir.: cylinder 1 3 IDE01976 Numb.of misfir.: cylinder 2 5 IDE01977 Numb.of misfir.: cylinder 3 5 IDE01978 Numb.of misfir.: cylinder 4 2 ENG101360 Misfire detection active 00000000 ENG102335 Misfires all cylinders per 1000 rpm 0 Obviously there is no warning lights on the dashboard, no fault codes at all, and the car works like a charm. Do someone experienced the same ? I'm a bit surprised and would like to confirm my case is not something that can lead to a failure. Thanks and Regards

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2022/23
Vasariah replied to MartiniB's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
In the end, better to check files integrity using a MD5 hash compute capable program. I personally use a WSL environment where the md5sum command is ready to go. I didn't have a look for Seat files, but Skoda provides all files MD5 signature.- 46 replies

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2022
Vasariah replied to MartiniB's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Why not ? 🙂 That was my first attempt so I wanted to keep it simple and avoid any unecessary complexity. Now that I know how things are working, yeah I can use latest files.- 19 replies

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2022
Vasariah replied to MartiniB's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Yes it is very close with a 16GB card. Deletion of 44 unused languages saves me 750MB, but large enough to copy all files. I think we can buy MIB2 compatible 32GB sdcard for a reasonnable price. Will have a look and let you know ! Thx- 19 replies

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2022
Vasariah replied to MartiniB's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Hello again guys, Now that I've a decent SD Card reader, I noticed the card from my Skoda is a 16GB model. Whatever ! I did download the entire Europe map from Skoda (STD2_1720_EU_A1_202145.zip) and removed all unecessary languages, keeping only the French one. Then the Skoda notice says : I didn't find these paths on my navigation system, but when I have a look to the software versions, I can see that it matches the file I previously downloaded. So I assume the upgrade completed successfully. What do you think ? Many thanks !- 19 replies

When I think about Pentium, I realize once again that time flies. Had some of them, starting from a Pentium 133, a Pentium II 350 MMX, Pentium III 1 Ghz and ... then lots of AMD. It was years ago when I was a teenager, I did enjoy computer hardware 🙂 Now I'm still able to build my custom rig, the one I'm using is under a year old. This said, you can now imagine that cars and computer technology are part of my hobbies. Hopefully there are some more 🙂

Amundsen Mib2 Map Updates 2022/23
Vasariah replied to MartiniB's topic in Audio, Electronics and Security
Hi there ! I'm new here and totally surprised to see we can download Seat maps for our Skoda. So I assume they are identical ! I was looking to the Skoda update portal and I'm sure you already know we can download GPS updates. For example this one, provided you have a 32GB SD card : https://infotainment-cdn.skoda-auto.com/base/maps/STD2_1720_EU_A1_202145.zip But when it comes to test the downloaded archive/zip file, it is failling. It's failling for this file, but for other ones I downloaded. Are you experiencing the same ? Regards- 46 replies

Very good, you did it well ! Has your nickname AnnoyingPentium something to deal with IT/CPU ? It sounds funny to me 🙃 In the IT history, Pentium were not always annoying, they were sometimes serious AMD opposants !

Bonjour à tous ! This how we say Hello from France 🙂 I'm happy to join your community as I've just bought a new car ... and guess what ? Yep, this is a V/RS ! I'm 37 years old and I was looking for a familly car (wife plus 2 girls and a dog) with a bit of fun (no more diesel please!) This one costs me about 30k€ and it is the more beautifull car I've ever owned. I was looking since 4-6 monthes to find a model with the "RS Challenge" pack which delivers the famous DCC feature/option. Of course it's a 245 hp petrol engine with the DSG automatic gearbox. It has some nice features like the dual electric sunroof (?), virtual cockpit, KESSY, Canton sound system, 19 inch wheels, heated seats/steering wheel ... and many more. Please apologies if my English is not perfect, but I'm sure I will find here lot of information that will help me to enjoy this new car ! See you later guys, cheers !
