  1. How much does a ceramic spray cost these days?
  2. Has anyone tried this in the MK4?
  3. Yeah but what is the actual mpg?
  4. What is the Skoda app? Do you need it for anything?
  5. What annoying features does it have?
  6. I don't have access to the delivery spreadsheet. When did you get yours and how is it?
  7. The 2.0 engine is more efficient than the 1.6 that is maybe why they've dropped it. Optimal size for cylinders is nowadays considered to be 500cc so for a 4 cylinder engine 2.0l is best.
  8. Supposed to have been getting one as a company car since early 2022. Been told should now be getting one August/September. I haven't seen any on the roads yet.
  9. Never knew this. Never seen anyone use them either.
  10. I'm not sure if they were on both sides as I just noticed the offside ones were on as I came to the car from that side. However I don't remember the indicators going on when I turned on the ignition. What is the point in the parking lights?
  11. ok what are "parking lights"? The lighting switch was in the "auto" position. I double checked that when I got in.
  12. OK this evening I stopped at Lidl for some things and when I came back out to the car the side lights were on. I checked it was locked using the remote by pressing the lock button from a distance and it was and the side lights remained on. When I got into the car the noise you hear when you have the ignition on and door open came on, but obvious the key was not in the ignition. When I turned the ignition on a message saying "Warning, Parking light on" showed on the dash. can anyone explain this? It did start this time. It's booked in at a Skoda dealer but the wait is 1 month...
  13. The thing is it starts fine each morning.
  14. No I haven't checked using a multimeter. However isn't the car supposed to flash up a warning on the dash when the battery level is low?
  15. I have a 2020 Octavia diesel and recently the battery keeps going flat unexpectedly. It's done about 42,000 miles. Sometimes it starts fine and other times I can leave the car for a short time and come back and it won't start. I've been using a battery powered jump starter which gets it going but it's really annoying. I'm having to make sure the radio is off and there's nothing plugged in to the USB or 12V sockets if I'm sitting in the car with the engine off. When out driving the stop start is still working fine which makes it seem even odder. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know what could be wrong? I'm thinking there could be a wiring fault.
  16. Yeah I've found that too. I like it can play hi-res flac files. I have some 24 bit 96kHz albums it plays fine. Not sure if it's downsampling or not. Someone told me VAG systems downsample to 48kHz.
  17. Are there spare fuses in the box or will I need to buy some?
  18. Ok found this: Cigar lighter (power outlet) fuses in the Skoda Octavia are the fuses #40 (12 volt power socket) and #46 (230 volt power socket) in the Instrument panel fuse box. https://fuse-box.info/skoda/skoda-octavia-mk3-5e-2017-2018-fuse-box-diagram
  19. Sounds like fun! Any idea what amp fuse I need?
  20. I guess I need to change a fuse. Are they easily accessible?
  21. I'm wondering if the car I drove was a 2 litre diesel and that's why the revs were so low at 70mph?
  22. If they have a roof rack fitted they might only get 50mpg. The warning light does come on around 40 litres. I think most cars are like that now - in Germany it's illegal to run out of fuel on the autobahn.
  23. One thing that annoys me about the cruise control is there is no speed limiter. That's a far more useful feature to have imo.
  24. I don't know what the glitches people have reported are. Presumably they update the software in the courtesy car regularly, though. It was a 71 plate. I didn't notice any glitches myself but as I said I couldn't work how how to change the blower speed - it wasn't obvious at all!
