  1. I'm going to try the one at Aldi at Leith tomorrow. It's the same price and I'm driving over that way tomorrow anyway.
  2. And what is the maximum you will pay per kWh?
  3. The Shell app has this one at Broxburn for 25p/kWh
  4. My office as VendElectric charge points. Will the Shell Fuel Card I have from work that I buy petrol with work with those charge points? Also what card / fob do you use? And have you tried the charge point at Mortonhall garden Centre? A charger app tells me that one is free.
  5. I've never used a charging station before, there's a VendElectric one near my work and I've registered but it says you need an RFID card/fob and I dont know what that is. Can I use my Shell Fuel Card?
  6. Ok so presumably it takes the same time from all chargers?
  7. Ah. I need to get an outside socket wired up to do that. I used an extension cable one evening earlier in the week for 40 minutes and it didn't seem to charge it at all!
  8. The 70mpg was specific to that one journey from my house. typically I could get low 60s on a long journey if I was careful with the throttle. In the winter I remember it being around 50mpg sometimes. Was definitely worse mpg when the weather was cold.
  9. I agree but my short journey to Tesco is from Bonnyrigg to the Tesco at Eskbank. That's downhill and I got nearly 70mpg in my old diesel. The hybrid, if the battery is at 0 miles, gets about 20mpg. This morning the battery was at 3 miles and it was reading 300mpg most of the way until the engine kicked in. Sport mode seems to charge the battery more than normal mode.
  10. Well you assumes I was driving all day at speed and not stopping and accelerating. It was pure assumption on your part
  11. That's a nonsense reply. I was doing a lot of city driving in Edinburgh that day and some motorway when I got 49mpg.
  12. That's not really correct as it has regenerative braking so it is self charging to some extent. On longer runs it's capable of around 50mpg without plugging it in which it wouldn't be if it was just the 1.4 litre TSI engine on its own.
  13. Well what I noticed is the engine is running constantly at just shy of 2000rpm coasting downhill which seems ridiculous to me. It should be noted I've only noticed this at the start of a journey so far (and the journey to Tesco is so short it does it all the way). A normal petrol car on this journey would definitely not be recording lowish 20s mpg on this journey btw.
  14. I have been noticing that when I start off average fuel consumption is very low (low 20s mpg) and gradually increases as I drive. My drive to the local Tesco is about 1.5 miles of flat or downhill roads and my old diesel would record about 67mpg average for this journey, whereas in the new hybrid it's showing about 23mpg! I haven't yet charged the battery, I've just been using it in hybrid mode - is it using fuel to charge the battery when I set off? I did get 54mpg on my drive to work on Tuesday (25 mile drive).
  15. OK, it's a company car I shall try my local Skoda dealer.
  16. It could have been programmed with the UK time changes. It was a UK car after all.
  17. I'm trying to become primary user so that I can use the app but it won't let me. Not sure why. I have the two remotes but I can't get to the stage where you need to press the buttons on them, I press to become primary user and it just blinks and does nothing.
  18. I noticed today apple carplay disconnected while I was driving. I was using it for google maps.
  19. What other issues have you encountered so far?
  20. Do the brake lights come on when you lift off the throttle and regen kicks in? I drove to Moffat today and was wondering that as in sport mode it was slowing me quite a bit and I didn't need to actually press the brake pedal much. Also it felt really good to drive on the A701. Getting used to it now and its a pleasure to drive.
  21. It could be the car he uses in the test doesn't use the A/C compressor for hot air. This is why I asked my original question - how can you make it just blow air without the A/C?
