  1. Darren Meakins the Parts Manager at Caffyns is very helpful - my winter wheels came from him and they were excellently packed and delivered promptly at a fair price 👍🏻
  2. Search Amazon for :- TANCUDER 2 PCS USB Right Angle Adapter USB 3.0 Adapter Couplers 90 Degree Male to Female, Left & Right USB Connector Plug Coupler Extender Type A Male to Type A Female Adapter plenty to choose from!
  3. You can get a 90deg usb adaptor and a short usb > lightning cable so that the sliding cover can be closed completely. My iPod lives there permanently! Amazon has several choices!
  4. JohnD5314 - might you be thinking of James Rothwell, who was a great source of information at that surrey dealership?
  5. Bet that conversation has 'escalated' your confidence in Skoda UK's Call centre's competence? Seasons greetings!
  6. Did I read somewhere that the adoption of VW508.00 oil was prompted by emission control compliance?
  7. We are 'hitting the buffers' I'm afraid as Skoda's UK Customer Services (along with VW, Audi etc,) is outsourced to Capita or a similar conglomerate and so call handlers generally can only provide answers to queries on their scripts! You may be lucky if they escalate your query to a higher level, but the chances of actually speaking to an actual Skoda employee are similar to BJ being awarded Hairstyle of the Year! HTH. Seasons Greetings Robin
  8. https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com
  9. FB, I might be tempted to tell them to register it from 1/1/21 - then it will be 2021 registered car?
  10. https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com I used this link and successfully updated my Columbus online - for instance includes the latest A14 changes. HTH
  11. Just updated the maps in my 2020 MY Columbus. Despite several efforts with 3 SD cards it wouldn’t collect the data and update, so I used the ‘online’ method. Took sometime before the online update service became available, but eventually the map download started. It took ages and I resorted in going for a drive whilst it completed. I was fearful it would fail and I’d have to go through the whole rigmarole again. ( Life’s too short for that!) The update (0189) adds new mapping for ‘ England South’ HTH
  12. Pretty sure they have been removed from current spec? There was a query on here earlier about this. They are available at @ c.£5 each I recall. HTH
  13. Having successfully entered a postcode, I then Edit and enter a descriptive name and save - works for me
  14. All sorted and fully working now! Thanks!
  15. Alex, Perhaps your Rainworth (Sheffield) Service Advisor could tell the Rainworth (Mansfield) Service Advisor (Dan) how to do it? Visited yesterday to have 2 Service Recalls sorted (Sunroof drain and possible fuel line leak) but they failed to activate the Lock/Unlock function via the Skoda Connect App as requested. I left them with a copy of my driving licence on the promise of (as yet undelivered) of a call back! Not the level of service I've had previously
  16. Autoglym 'Lifeshine' is worth about what you can pick it up (boxed) for on eBay - i.e. about £20! The £300 - £450 balance is bonce for the dealership = Emperor's New Clothes! Most detailers will apply it for very much less, if you can't face doing it yourself?
  17. I suspect its probably VW Reflex Silver? Code LA7W?
  18. Plenty of suitable and inexpensive W16W LED replacements on eBay - easy fix and no ‘bulb out’ messages! 👍🏻
  19. Merlinman replied to T00mm's topic in Skoda Karoq
I have a Meteor Grey one, it fits perfectly and is identical to the original. My understanding is that SS or one of its suppliers disassemble OE badges and repaint in factory colours? Very pleased with mine - I have also replaced all the ‘chrome’ rear badges with OE black ones - much admired 👌🏻
  20. Think that part is c.£90? (£77.50 + VAT?)
  21. Both my previous Yeti and my current Karoq have had factory fitted heated windscreens. Although the laminated wires are visible in certain lights and from some angles in no way are they a distraction. Heated windscreens are a massive bonus, especially for vehicles that live outside.
  22. ‘String backed driving gloves’ - are you Alan Partridge? 😂
  23. Ah. memories! Time was, back in 2010 we were all anally tracking ''Highway" named ships from Emden to see where our much delayed Yetis were! https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-12.1/centery:44.3/zoom:4 Enjoy !
  24. I use the direct online update option (Columbus) - takes a few minutes, but OK
