Hello, My Octavia is a November 2021 build, 1.5 TSi M-Hev, DSG. I am struggling with the following issue since this winter, when I discovered some rattling noises coming from the engine while the car was idling at 750/850 rpm. Also, small vibrations are felt in the car while the rattling noises happen (or when the speed of the assembly is reduced as it can be seen in the recording below). The issue isn't seen/felt if the A/C is on and the engine idle goes up to 900-1000 RPM, everything goes smooth then. Went to the dealer for looking into the issue: they first changed a hose, then an engine mount. However these things never fixed the issue. After providing them the video above, they looked beyond the intake manifold where they said they saw carbon deposits on the intake valves and 2 fuel injectors not working as expected. They performed walnut blasting on the intake valves, then they replaced faulty fuel injectors (2 and 4). They said that they performed the needed software changes after this and they tested the car in a drive-test for about 20 kilometers concluding that the car was OK. Got the car, drove it home with seeing any issues. Starting the car the very next day, the same behavior is observed. Worth mentioning the following: noise and vibrations are seen/felt even if the engine is cold, even if the engine is in working temperature. the car isn't struggling to accelerate or "kangaroos" during the acceleration - it works perfectly fine when I am speeding up. Is this the normal way of working on this engine after some time? If not, has anyone faced this problem before on this engine? Was it fixed? Any reply helps... Thanks!

For anyone that has a similar issue… i had the clutch replaced on warranty. It was defective from factory.

Another item that causes the issue is the sun visor - more exactly the place when it’s fixed in to your roof. i had 6 months with that noise and couldnt find out the culprit.

I have not observed differences between front and back… But object clearance on the left/right side yes… I get beeps when the car on my left/right leaves completely and there is no car there for another 2 more seconds. if i need to leave fast, the car will slam the brakes so that I dont “crash into a ghost car”… very annoying.

Skoda Octavia 4, 1.5, MHEV, 2022 user here. From time to time, in 1st gear mostly (occasionaly in 2nd as well), I get the squeling noise that you will hear in the video attached (in the first 2-3 seconds). That noise might appear when slowly accelerating, but I heard it when I released the brake pedal and let it “crawl” for 1-2 meters, without pressing the acceleration pedal. Everytime that I heard the noise, the car used to be stuck in traffic jams. When the traffic is clear, there would be absolutely no noises throughout the trip. it can be heard whether I am driving in D or S. Also this noise appears completely random, and doesn’t repeat at the next red light or on the same trip. There are days when this noise is not reproducible at all, making the defect hard to be identified at the dealership so that they can actually work on something. The bumper needs to be removed.

The car has collision avoidance for all the places where the parking sensores are mounted. basically it is going to break each time you are close to hitting an object. Even if it’s sideways, even front, even back. The thing that I dont like at all is the clearing - if the obstacle dissapeara from your left/right area, the sensors will still read the object for a couple of seconds, or even more. Which is a lot and prone to an auto-brake when you are not expecting.

Multiple starts without reboots on 1941. that sorted out the problem with infotainment prrmanently. ps, havent done the OTA update that comes immediately after the 1941 upgrade. While it pops up on the infotainment, i just press Later over and over.

Ever since the heatwave came over Europe, the moment I am starting the car and the AC starts, I keep hearing a strange noise sounding like a rubber / pastic being moved with force somewhere in the middle of the dashboard, underneath the infotainment. First, only the noise is driving me nuts. Second, I am not sure if it will break something inside the car. the car is a 1.5 mild hybrid automatic transmission. is this a normal behavior which i should learn to live with, or should i book it for investigations after my vacation?

Carplay here and I had the issues. its not related to AA. its a bug that comes with 188x and 189x

I might be confusing it with 1886? 188x was stable on my car. it was the software that came with the car and it was flawless compared with the ones pre-1941.

1889 was stable. I had it. Except bluetooth pairing and syncing contacts with car, no other issues.

on Friday I got called from the dealership and they mentioned that I, since am dued to a service inspection and oil change on 7th of July, I can upgrade to 1941 so that I am sorting out the reboot issues on my MiB. They haven’t mentioned how much time it’ll take. But I am guessing about 3-4 hours as I know the dealerships are doing it here in Romania. And I was “this “ close in doing it myself.

And I got her the 18” Perseus wheels and wrapped the chrome linings from the front bumper. I wanted to purchase a Sportline diffuser, however it does have crome elements on it and I don’t feel like it’s worth the trouble to wrap it again. The next thing is to work on silencing the interior a bit more, as it is a bit noisy at high speed.

OTA according to him. And yes, I am aware about 1941, but until we have a confirmation that it solves the issue and it doesn't cause others, I won't be doing it. I should've stayed with 1886. It was completely stable for my build. My single problem was with sync of phone contacts then. It was completely minor.

Had that after a storm with stones, 3 weeks ago. First i thought that the car issued the breakdown call because my front bumper touched the water. However when I popped the hood, the bay was completely dry, so the water hasnt come ever near to the engine, gearbox or other components. i am going to assume it was another faulty behavior of 1896. Regarding the discussed issue. I am seeing the behavior one or twice a week. And sometimes I dont have an additional error on VC, sometimes I do have something related to parking sensors errors. I havent moved to 1900, as a friend of mine with an RS still faces the issue.

Skoda is equipped with an eSim if now mistaking. however, I have had that issue in the past on my Huawei P30 Pro and I couldnt get any connection from mobile data while using wifi for cinnecting AA wirelessly. the thing I did then was to disable the Intrnet feature from the car.

I believe THOR is a different sound exhaust tool you can look over, it has he sounds a bit clearer and closer to the actual cars you are selecting to render the sound.

while it would make sense, the issue was not happening on the infotainments that came from the factory with the software lower than 1896. for instance, mine was produced in Nov 2021, I have updated the infotainment in 2023 and the issues started after the 1896 update. I never had one single reboot until the update. from 1900 to 1940? Highly doubt that we’ll see this version that early. If that is the correct one for our cars.

Coming back on this one: yep apple maps guidance does show up on VC. So it looks like Google and CarPlay don’t go too well together for the VC. Guess I will have to live without that thing, especially given the fact that I managed to fix the “bug” with the voice navigation and guidance.
