  1. I think I’m done with this forum… too many jobsworths.
  2. Simply asking a question, no need to get personal! I’m not saying that you have to do that to your car… if you don’t want to that’s fine. If you don’t have any good advice maybe time to move on… Let me guess your day job involves a uniform? Traffic warden? Mall security? Police officer entrance exam too difficult? 😂
  3. Thanks everyone! Going to try to the OBDeleven option on the weekend and see what happens. It kind of sucks that you need to buy credits to actually use the device you already bought… but 10 credits are only $5 so I can live with that. On Wanderer’s point; I don’t see how they could enforce any legislation about headlight washers. I’ve never been pulled over by police and asked to demonstrate my headlight washers. I guess in countries where you need an annual roadworthy inspection on your vehicle this may be an issue but here in Queensland you only need a roadworthy when you are selling your car. When I get to that point I can always just reactivate the function with the app before the inspection. (Tbh if you had too, you could just activate/ deactivate it once a year before your inspection but everyone has their own level of risk tolerance…) Cheers, Julius
  4. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had experience or knowledge of how to disable the headlight washer function? (Ideally in software, I have an OBDeleven dongle) Personally, I would rather not have the headlight washers as it ruins my perfectly clean and freshly washed car… spraying water all over the bonnet. Cheers, Julius 👍
  5. Well I finally got the car back Tuesday afternoon… Thankfully it has been updated to 1941 like I asked. I’m not sure why it took so long but the service representative said they had to do 2 additional updates. I think maybe because we don’t get OTA updates here in Australia they have to load those updates locally at the dealership instead. But I’m only guessing. I am hopeful that the new software will solve all these constant error messages but I will keep you all posted if/ when more eventually show up… Cheers, Julius
  6. Thanks for the update. My car also when into the workshop yesterday to look at these issues and hopefully get updated to SW1941. They called me late yesterday afternoon to let me know the car was still updating and apparently it was a “very large update” with over 8 hours remaining. So they would need the car overnight to complete the update. I will let you all know later today when I hear back on whether they updated it and what the can do about the constant errors…
  7. Thanks for the detailed post Kristo! I was think about getting this exhaust or maybe the Remus one. It does sound better than stock but I must admit a little bit disappointing… As others have mentioned before to get any real exhaust sound improvement we might have to swap out the downpipe.
  8. We don’t get OTA updates in Australia so if I want to get any updates I have to unfortunately go though the dealership. I personally haven’t experienced the infotainment system restarts that others have posted about. I’m not sure if it’s related to the issues I’m having but I’ll try too get them to update me to the latest software version regardless. I’ll see what they say next week.
  9. Hi mate, Yes, sorry I should have said I’m on 1896. The car was updated once last year to supposedly “fix” the errors I was having but obviously didn’t. And I lost voice control functionality in the process… Also I’m in Australia not sure if that makes a difference? I think we basically get UK spec cars minus the SOS and mobile network functionality. I will let you know what the dealer says Monday. Probably more BS… ,Julius
  10. I’ve had the same “park assistant/ front assist” errors for over 18 months now. I’ve been in and out of the dealership for this error at least 3 times to no avail. I am booked in next Monday for them to look at it again… I will be asking them to update my car to SW1941 as this seems to fix a lot of issues others have been experiencing with their Octavias. I’m hoping that it might fix this problem as well. If I find out any more information on Monday I’ll let you guys know. cheers, Julius
  11. Hi Ian, I do get this same error every other week, so not as often as you but it’s still very annoying! I’ve spoken to my dealer a number of times about this issue but they aren’t much help. I was told, “Skoda’s parking sensors are very sensitive and that’s why they can get blocked by dirt etc.” (lol) When they told me that I had literally washed my car the day before… As mentioned above I’m convinced this is a software issue; like most every other problem with this car, but my dealer keeps telling me that I have the latest update (1898) which is obviously not true. When I was updated to 1898 at the end of last year I actually lost functions like my voice control and the parking sensor errors remained. I have been keeping a record of each error and when it occurred etc. that I will be presenting the workshop when I take it in for the 30k service later this year. I’m hopeful that by then they will be able to update me to a newer version of the software. Sorry I can’t be of more help. best of luck, FillNill (Julius)
  12. Thanks Jugaroo, I will check these out. I also saw a company called Maxhaust do a similar product and with their controller you can also control other aspects of the car like, ambient lighting and suspension.
  13. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any experience fitting the Panthera Leo active exhaust sound generator to the Mk4 Octavia? As a lot of other mk4 RS owners, I am also a little disappointed with the exhaust or lack of exhaust sound on the new RS. These “fake” exhaust systems seem like a great alternative to a custom exhaust or voiding the warranty by messing with the OPF filter to get a louder exhaust sound. Would love to know if they are as loud as they seem in the videos I’ve seen online? See below video: I’m based in Brisbane Australia - if there’s anyone near me with a similar system I’d love to hear it firsthand. I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea… nevertheless thanks for checking in. Cheers, Julius
  14. I get navigation on the VC with my iPhone (13 pro max) using Apple Maps. I’m guessing maybe the integration for Google maps and Waze on CarPlay isn’t there for the VC. If you want to use Apple Maps is a different story… but the directions do show on the Virtual Cockpit and the Heads-up display. hope this helps!
  15. Hi mate, Thanks for the reply. I assumed 95 would be fine as that was what it says in the owners manual but the dealer was adamant that I had to put 98 in… I’m going to fill it with 98 this week (seeing as petrol prices have come down a little bit) and see if there is any difference in performance/ fuel efficiency. Like others have mentioned it’s probably a negligible amount anyway. Just good to know I’m not doing any damage by using 95. 👍
