  1. How does waiting indefinitely help? I will go to my superiors and try to explain that Skoda is not an option anymore and to let me pick a car from stock, preferably some other manufacturer. I should have done this in the beginning, but Skoda was lying about delivery times. Basically the dealers were lying, but Skodas lack of professionality enabled this. Cause if they "don't know", then dealers don't know and need to guesstimate. Of course the dealer won't say: "Look, it is a lottery, you can get it in 6 months, maybe a year, maybe a year and a half..., but every ticket is a "winner". The Skoda lottery ticket price is over 30.000€. Are you buying?". I would say f*ck off and would be driving some other car by now...
  2. Smart. I am considering the same thing, even though I am already waiting since August. Apperantly also the Skoda plant got damaged in the fire, the one that produces most of the Octavia models. So delays, delays and more delays with no info. People ordering now will get cars when Octavia mk5 is out. https://english.radio.cz/fire-mlada-boleslav-will-delay-production-16000-skoda-octavia-models-8740909
  3. WTF!!! Now this... 🤬🤬🤬
  4. Says someone who waited < 6 months. You have some connections at Skoda?
  5. Oh, look, it is going up. Last week it was Q1/2023 for iV and 8 months for Octavia, Octavia is now 10 months. So if you add also those additional options like RS... you can make it to 19 months. This is INSANE. 🥴
  6. The best thing to do here is ask your dealer if this is possible and if there are any possible conseqences. I can only tell you, that I first ordered the car in July. In August I changed it to hatchback from wagon (misunderstanding when first ordering) and added reverse camera, which was a new order, so I went to the back of the line. But my situation is different.
  7. So I guess no one on this forum got the car from this train?
  8. Congrats! The lights on the previous model are in my opinion really fugly.
  9. They lie, because they (dealers) also don't have information and don't want to lose customers. So they say it will be soon and so on.
  10. Sorry to dissapoint, it is definitely not going to Germany from Slovenia. It is probably going south (Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia...).
  11. Ah ok, this makes more sense. is it 115hp or 150hp engine?
  12. Congrats. I almost wrote lucky you, but waiting for 10 months is not really lucky. Didn't know there is a 1.9 diesel. At least not in my country. Is this Octavia?
  13. You are correct, they don't know anything and that is sad. One guy that works in a BMW dealership said his work became very sressful, because he needs to keep lying to the customers about delivery time, when they call.
  14. I doubt this is a problem... 🙂
  15. What are you talking about? What problem?
  16. We are so addicted, that we started trainspotting on this forum. There is a good chance you will get it, because you had a build date 4.
  17. Can you steal one for me? Is it stealing if I pay for it? Let us agree it is a gray area. 🤣
  18. You think they will be unloaded here? Maybe it is just passing through... Check if there is a white dsg hatchback on it.
  19. Many people here were quoted a date. I believe most from GB.
  20. Yes, standard retarded answer. Importer tells you to contact the dealer, dealer gets no info from importer so they put you into an endless loop. Always the same excuse about the chip shortage, WE KNOW. Still other countries get production dates, even if they don't meet them. Some even get cars. I guess we are a piece of **** country, that don't deserve their time.
  21. Congrats, very happy for you. It was about time!
  22. I can't, it is company policy to order Skoda cars. Also going back to the end of the line at some other manufacturer is not really a solution after already waiting 5 months and Skoda knows this. I know I am venting a little and sorry for that, but it is not a couple of extra months. Extra 6-8 months for many people hardly qualifies as a couple. Keep in mind when placing the order they said the same thing as you. It will be a couple of months more, max 6 months which is already at least twice as long as before the "chip shortage". They should have told the dealers the car will most likely take 1 year and I would choose a stock car, even if it didn't have all the options I wanted. Or ask for a different manufacturer, because of the current situation at Skoda. Also what you are saying is true for some of the people, many others get cars much quicker. To create a queue, first come, first served you don't really need to develop a multimillion euro system. Thanks for letting me vent a little.
  23. Exactly. No pressure from dealers/importers towards Skoda = no info. Maybe some bigger dealers pressure more, that is why some get cars faster. If everything was by the book it would be easy to create a plan for Skoda and give some info to customers. They know how many parts they have, they know how long a car is being manufactured, they know the number of orders, they know where the orders are coming from, they have all the info just apparently no "queue". Basically it is a ruse, cause they still want people to order cars. Maybe if they were transparent, people would resent the reasons, so they stay quiet. I am just guessing here, like all of you, but this guessing should not be required. Very strange times indeed.
  24. Did you demand answers? I understand the "chip shortage" but don't understand why for some there is no shortage at Skoda. I think they should give some explanation to keep customers happy, ok, maybe not happy, but at least less aggrevated. Customers say nothing? They don't need to. They just look like an amateur company, it they can't setup a system that makes sense after 2 years of "chip shortage".
  25. Yes, but did you demand answers?
