1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
My previous car had exactly the same transmission but both my wife and I experienced no such issues. It gets probably more of an " Italian tune up" than the previous model as it's a Sportline. I agree that it points to a start/stop issue. I'm hoping for a simple fix like a software update ๐ค๐ผ๐

Octavia Sportline stalling
Hi KJJ, I took it in to my local Skoda dealer and the technician did a test drive with me but of course we couldn't get it to fail. Skoda state they haven't heard of other instances but we know this is BS. In my situation the revs completely die but then kick back in after about 5-10 secs, without the need to restart. So not actually stalling in the correct sense. It makes me think the stop/start is activating incorrectly , as it's always at low revs when performing a slow manoeuvre..i.e in slow traffic or pulling away at a junction. What worries me is "dieing" when pulling away joining a fast road. I haven't experienced any unusual engine noises though.

1.5Tsi manual: still kangarooing when cold
I am experiencing similar problems with my Sportline 1.5 TSI, manual. I've had it for four months and although it's only an occasional problem, it still is frustrating. I've got it booked in, but am not encouraged by other posts referencing Skoda denial. I take it a software update won't cure it, only an effective remap?

Octavia Sportline stalling
Hi, Has anyone experienced unexplained stalling at low revs? I've had my Octavia Sportline ( standard 1.5 TSI , not e-tec) for about four months and am absolutely chuffed with it, but there's a reoccurring issue with it stalling when at a junction, or performing a slow manoeuver. Just to qualify, my previous car was a standard first edition Octavia (70 plate) and I experienced no such issues. The Wife has experienced the same issues as me. Have booked it in for a check over, but would be interested to know if others have experienced this.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
I may of over generalised regarding design flaw. It just seemed to me that I noticed a few issues with the DSG on forum posts, but not so much with a manual like mine. These things do happen, but the car has been in twice now in as many weeks, the first issue being the much discussed software update.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
Dealer says gearbox needs replacing, fortunately as I've only had the car 5 weeks its covered on the warranty. Bit disappointing for a car that's only done 3K miles. A design flaw on this first edition Octavia, or just unlucky??

Shame about the engines/gearbox
I went back to the dealer about my gearbox issues and went on a drive with the technician there. He drove it and agreed there was a problem. Its booked in for further investigation. Will keep you posted.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
I had an old Audi A4 Avant with 150000 on the clock with no gearbox issues, although everything else was going wrong with it!! Like I say the Wife's Volkswagen Up is absolutely fine, just a bit unlucky on this one.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
As far as my specific situation, I have never had a problem with any other car on this issue. We bought my Wife's Volkswagen Up from new and gear changing wasn't a problem . She has also experienced problems, so dont think it's my driving style. Might go back to dealer and get a technician to drive it to see if they identify a problem.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
Thanks, inspectorman. I was a bit concerned seeing some of the posts commentating that this seemed to be specific to the 1.5 engine. Wasn't really sure how this related to a software issue , but will do as you say and take it back if this persists.

Shame about the engines/gearbox
Hi All, New to the forum and Skoda. I have an Octavia 1.5 TSI (New edition, 2020). Iโve had the car for nearly a month and seem to have problems changing gear without crunching, especially from 3rd to 4th. I put this down to the fact thereโs only 3000 miles on the clock and maybe the gearbox is running in. The strange thing though is that when I bought this car I test drove another Octavia 1.5 TSI and experienced similar issues. Seems better when the car is warmed up. I bought the car on the basis that I thought it was just me. I would appreciate peoples views. Thanks, Chris.

New to Forum (introduction)
Hi All, I have recently become the owner of a Skoda Octavia, 1.5 SEL new edition. 2020. Itโs my first Skoda and Iโm very impressed so far. My previous car was a Mazda 6 Sport Nav and the fuel economy and performance hold up nicely in comparison, considering the Mazda was a diesel. I look forward to reading and understanding more aspects about Skoda.
