  2. Yes of course. Unfortunately my pics are too large to post. I need to reduce file size, which could end up being harder than sanding and painting wheels πŸ˜‚
  3. I’m thinking about a tow hitch carrier, as I’m going to be running larger tyres soon. might be an idea for you. There are ones that swing out, so you can access the boot unhindered.
  4. it’s just a mock up at this stage. I’ll mount the tyre on a rim and take a proper look. From the test it looks like I’ll need to cut out the forward wheel liner/inner wall. More pics to follow. I might start a separate thread/post. Seems I’m hijacking this one
  5. The dampers have 40mm extenders and I have new bump stops and sleeves to go on. I won’t be jumping the car, just seeking footprint and clearance for sand driving. Above was before the lifting spacers. This is about the maximum driving I do.
  6. Test 265/65 17 on the rear. Looks like my plan is going to work with minimal cutting or mods.
  7. Waiting for the pictures!
  8. Thanks so much for this. Yes, 2nd gear accelerations through corners gives the loudest clicking sounds! I’ll definitely be checking the cv’s and shafts now!
  9. Sound seems to be coming from driver’s side, quite low in the engine bay. Now I’m wondering if it could be a drive shaft or cv joint??? What would they sound like if they we’re failing??
  10. Of course I can - huge price difference in a set of wheels vs spacers. But yeah, that’s a long term plan. 16s with fatter tyres eventually.
  11. Does it sound like a loud clock ⏰… tick tick tick as you accelerate? mine doesn’t do it on idle, or it’s too quiet 🀫 then.
  12. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185399459386 hope this link works
  13. In the new year for sure! I’ve done the maths and another 30mm lift will take the body just over the wheel centres. With minimal work on the wheel arches, I reckon I’ll be able to run 245/70 tyres on my 17s πŸ‘πŸ½. I’ll push the width with wheel spacers. im currently running Cooper ATTs 225/55 which are great.
  14. I’ve got a weird clicking/ticking sound when accelerating hard in 2nd gear, less volume in 3rd. At first I thought it was new front springs settling in, but we’re well past that now. it’s a 2.0 TDi with 175,000kms. First timing belt was done at 110,000kms. Is it a pulley, timing issue or maybe top strut bearings when unloading on acceleration???
  15. I lifted mine with the Eibach springs (Tiguan). Excellent results with 30mm lift and improved handling on road and off-road. I’m going for another 30mm soon with the spacers/levelling kit.
  16. Hey there, I recently installed these Eibach springs on my Yeti. They are awesome. I got 25mm to 30mm lift, and when fully loaded they don’t sag. The handling has improved both off and on road. I highly recommend.
  17. I’d go to Darkside Developments for their delete kit and tune πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ½
  18. Here’s what Car Scanner home page looks like:
  19. I use a VGate with the Car Scanner App (free). You can configure settings, scan errors, clear codes.
  20. Are you referring to beach πŸ– barbecue πŸ— or blondes in bikinis πŸ‘™β€¦? Cause there were plenty of both πŸ€ͺ
  21. Bribie Island 🏝 Australia. 2k soft sand track to get on beach. Running Cooper ATs at 12psi. Went really well. Car completely stock except for 15mm wheel spacers. Clearance was a bit of an issue, but have Eibach lifting springs to fit.
