  1. I've checked my DPF lifespan and my spot levels are not high. So that's not a worry for me thinking my DPF is bad. Could be a sensor issue but I will post up stats of the dpf shortly. Regards to doing DSG adaptions I don't know which one I am meant to try as there's lots of posts showing on Google but not wanting to risk damaging anything further if I do the wrong adaption. I have UDS showing on mines.
  2. I'm a private hire taxi driver toots. Neither of the mechanics technicians plugged anything to my car to check if any fault codes appear. How ever past few days I've started getting my EML appearing which shows following message regards to dpf (p2002 particulate trap efficiency fault). getting I've scanned my car with VCDS and no other faults appeared when I do a full scan other than the fault code mentioned above. I've asked other Skoda drivers who also do private hire in Glasgow and no one has had this kind of fault I'm having. My father said he will take the car down to Bradford during the week and get one of the mechanics he used several times for other cars to get a DSG specialist to check there. I will do what TheClient mentioned above and see what results I get back and post my results of the scan on here.
  3. Both these places I went to didn't charge for a full diagnostic check but only driven the car. I don't get any fault codes showing on the dash. My local garage said they only seen clutch and DMF change together is there was fault codes showing on the dash or if I was having issues changing gears. Only issue I have is when going up steep hills in certain parts of Glasgow is when I hear a loud squeel or when it's changing gears from 1st to 2nd and onwards. Then at times I don't hear anything. I'm a private hire driver so I'm always on the road. What guide would I use to check with VCDS?
  4. I've called Volkswagen today and was asked to come in so that one of the specialist can take car for a drive. The guy said straight away that my clutch needs replaced and also recommend to get the DMF changed as well. They also recommend another specialist who I was talking about yesterday who also test drove the car and said exactly what Volkswagen said. Both nice chaps and didn't even charge me anything. Even though I was expecting them to charge me for a full diagnostic with checking on their equipment for any readings but both didn't do this step. Would you guys recommend for me to go ahead with doing clutch and DMF. car is only driven 49000miles.
  5. I can do that tomorrow and see what Volkswagen say tomorrow morning.
  6. I've got car booking in tomorrow with Caledonian transmissions for a diagnostics check and hopefully see what they say and get back to you guys tomorrow with any reports.
  7. Only concern I have is what ever specialist I go to turns round and said to change both clutch and DMF so how will I know if they are telling me the truth? Would they give me some sort of proof when doing their diagnostics? I'm wanting to be very cautious this time round as to any garage I went to previously with other issues they told me this and that needed changed but this squeaky noise just hasn't really gone.
  8. I also wanted to mention that I have a fully registered ross-tech cable (hex-v2 dual-k & can) cable. Would I be able to get any readings via VCDS for the gearbox and DMF?
  9. I'm just not having any luck with this car. As per my old post I had the driveshafts changed and few other front suspension parts replaced and now this new symptom. Will check online and hopefully find a specialist to check the car.
  10. Hi guys I have a Skoda Octavia mk3 2019 1.6 automatic DSG. In the space of 3 months every time I start driving my car I hear a high pitched squeak when my car is changing gears from 1 to 2 and now it's doing it on most gears. I called Caledonian specialists in Glasgow and explained this to them and the guy said that's the clutch needing changed and he also said to get the DMF changed as well. My car has done 49000 miles on the clock and the specialist said your DMF could be okay but they recommend to get both clutch and DMF changed and it would cost around £2000. My question is when replacing the clutch do you have to get the DMF changed as well? Would anyone recommend any other specialists out there they have used. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
  11. Please help someone Really need assistance 😊
  12. Few garages are saying this sounds like brake pads and discs. I've had new pagid discs and pads installed few weeks ago but the symptoms are still the same in the audio clip. The last set of pads and discs I had were APEX and before that DRIVETEC. 3 different garages I've been to all say it's the discs and pads. Last thing I want is to change them to the Skoda brand and the sound I hear in the audio above still gives me the same symptoms. Can someone please get back to me and let me know if they can hear and diagnose what that sound is. Thanks
  13. Guys I've uploaded the sound I have been getting every time I'm turning in to a street and then accelerate straight. Can someone tell me what is causing this issue please I have a 2019 Skoda Octavia 1.6tdi DSG automatic.. Voice 008.m4a
  14. Hi guys. Im getting a loud squeak every time I turn left or right and then accelerate. This only happens after I have did a turn. Could this be outer tie rod end? I've had steering alignment done twice now in space of a month.
  15. If you change the gearbox mount, how many are they?
  16. Hi guys Recently had new driveshafts installed. Both sides lower control arms Installed. Two front shocks and new pads and discs and two front wheel bearings. My front left hand suspension still rattles when going over speed bumps and also hear this whining noise after doing a full lock left or right turn and drive straight. My local garage said top strut mounts are fine but and I also mentioned gearbox mount and he feels the issues I'm describing are any of the mounts. Would I be correct in believing changing the strut mounts and gearbox mount could clear the issue I'm still having?
  17. That's me just had both sides of driveshaft changed. Got Napa make installed. I just thought I'd let you all know that this has resolved my issue. No more rattle and knocking and squealing noise. Thanks to all members on this forum who has helped me.. 😊😊
  18. The mechanic done that and said he couldn't feel anything. I'm going to bite to bullet and just order a full driveshaft. Will be travelling down to Bradford during the week so get someone there to change it.
  19. Mechanic checked all that as well. He looked at all the car. Dpf never been touched before. Read through loads of posts on the forum and to me it seems like inner transmission part of the driveshaft and also outside side CV joint of the driveshaft. Problem is you can't see any play or any damage on the rubber boots. Is it best to have the driveshaft removed and check for any play?
  20. I've had that checked few days ago when I got the front pads and discs changed and they seem to be perfect. This rattle comes when car is proper reached its temperature and driven for least 5-10 miles and then you hear it.
  21. I've just come back from another garage who had the car on the ramp. He couldn't see any issues with the suspension. He took the car for a drive and said nothing can be heard. The sound I hear comes after a while driving the car and stays the whole night. I asked about the CV joints and was told nothing can be heard. When I go over speed bumps I hear it, when I do a full lock right turn I can feel grinding and soon as I've turned and go straight you hear a rattle. Suppose no garage wants to remove the driveshaft and inspect it properly to inspect the CV joints and the driveshaft. Garage mentioned it could be the DSG gearbox that's the issue but my question is why would it rattle and grind when going over speed bumps and doing a full lock right turn and how could that be a gearbox issue?
  22. Can anyone recommend where is best to buy driveshafts other than the Skoda dealers? Im still hearing a rattle and knocking and this weird groaning noise from the front left wheel when I'm about to come to a stop or if I go over any speed bumps and when turning right. Every mechanic who has checked my car on the ramp can't see any play or any rubber seals damaged or split so keep saying to me all suspensions and driveshafts look good. I'm convinced it could be a driveshaft issue. Not sure if it's best to buy a full driveshaft or if they come in parts. Please help.
  23. Ok so I've had my local go to mechanic put car on the MOT RAMP again and he checked all suspensions and joints and confirms no play. I decided to get the wheel bearing on the front left changed as I felt it was the culprit with the humming noise I kept hearing when turning right in to streets. That's resolved that issue but the rattle remains. He feels the front left driveshaft could be the issue as he took car for a drive with me and he felt every time he applied the brakes he was feeling the steering wheel vibrate and also heard a rattle at the front left wheel at same time. He said it would either be the CV joint that connects to the driveshaft or it will be the driveshaft itself. I called Skoda and they said the driveshafts for both side cost £528 Inc vat for the left and £518 Inc vat for the right. He said the CV joints are around £200 or so each. Today I was working in the car doing my taxi work and I could hear humming and grinding and rattle at same time driving in a straight residential street and everytime I applied the brakes it was louder and also during acceleration. This rattle only appears to happen when car is driven for 20 mins or so and it's continuous throughout till car is left parked for hours and it won't appear again till driven for over 20 minutes. Do you guys feel that it could be the driveshaft or CV joint that could be the issue with what I mentioned above?
  24. Yes I mentioned I was going to use the Skoda Octavia as a private hire taxi.
