Octavia mk3 booked in for repair under warranty
Yeah It was Skoda used approved car which I got from Telford Skoda. I bought extended warranty with it for another year as the current one was about to expire so I extended it for one more year. the sales person in Telford Skoda assured me that the warranty will cover me for any parts and labour. Would A for Audi cover me for warranty?

Octavia mk3 booked in for repair under warranty
Dropped car to Skoda at 8am today. Got a call back within 1 hour to say they can not cover any warranty work on my car as it's a private hire taxi and the mechanic cancelled the appointment and did not inspect the car. Went back to collect car as soon as i got the phonecall and was advised I need to pay £114 for diagnostic check that was carried out. I told Skoda I wasn't going to pay a penny as they never done any checks as confirmed on the phone and I was advised I'd need to pay full retail price plus the diagnostic fee if I go ahead. Not very happy as firstly they never gave me any warranty repair booklet with the car which would explain what's covered and what isn't.. I had to ask on this forum for that information. In the end I've got my car back and didn't pay a penny. Now stuck with the rattle noise and a windscreen washer fluid leak..

Octavia mk3 booked in for repair under warranty
Can anyone tell me what parts are covered under the warranty? I don't have any paperwork from Skoda when I bought the car. Wheel bearings, suspension arms, steering parts, gearbox and so on included in Warranty?

Octavia mk3 booked in for repair under warranty
Strange the rattle appears once the car has reached its normal temperature. When I slow down it appears every time, if I go on uneven roads it appears and also over speed bumps. It's been driving me mad since I've started hearing it for past few months. That's when I got few garages to check my suspension and they all found nothing. One of the garages even had the car on the MOT RAMP and found nothing as well. I took each tyre off one by one and checked between the brake disc and shield for any stones and found nothing. I also drove the car in manual but the rattle was still there just when your about to come to a stop. That's were I believe my gearbox could be the issue as when the gears lower down and get to D2, that's when the rattle could be heard. It sounds like two metal pieces are touching against each other. Calipers have been looked at and they all seem perfect. Brake pads and discs also perfect too. Now when I was driving back from Skoda today, when I was turning right or left I can now hear a humming noise. To me that sound could be the wheel bearings about to go or maybe already gone. Just hoping when I hand car back to Skoda on the 26th September they can find the issue and hoping it's covered part of the warranty.

Just collected the car now. Hopefully drop it back off on the 26th September. Just hope what ever issue they find is covered under the warranty. Will update this page once resolved.

Octavia mk3 booked in for repair under warranty
Just got a call back from customer care and they said Skoda advised them as the car is still drivable so they can't offer me a courtesy car. Only once they have diagnosed the car and if it's a gearbox issue then that's the only time they will offer me a courtesy car. Don't see why they should have my car booked in now but they can't look at it till next week.

Called Skoda assist and they confirmed they emailed Skoda branch on Saturday to also give a courtesy car. They are going to call me back within an hour. I can still drive the car but the roadside assist said on Saturday it's best not to drive too much and drive car to Skoda and leave it with them

No squeeling and wheels weren't extremely hot. As mentioned earlier I had my friend who has a garage check the car and there wasn't any stones between the brake disc or brake disk cover. He had my car on the ramp with the hand brake down and gear in N, he checked all the suspension arms and bushes and was spinning the front wheels by hand and could hear the same sound as I hear when driving the car there's a rattle when car comes to a stop. He said that wasn't normal hearing that sound when he was spinning the wheels.

When I had roadside assistance come out on Saturday, first thing I mentioned was possible stone stuck in between the brake cover (which I already checked myself and also at my friend's garage). The guy said the symptoms I'm describing is definitely sounding like gearbox issue. Am I best to call roadside assistance and get them to possibly get Skoda to arrange a courtesy car? Im sure Skoda said around £115 plus the VAT fee if they find any issues which aren't covered under warranty.

Octavia mk3 booked in for repair under warranty
Hi guys. Need some advice. I've got a 2019 Skoda Octavia 1.6tdi SE L DSG AUTOMATIC. I purchased from Telford Skoda in December 2021. Ive got (used car warranty) till December 2022. Recently in past month I've started to get a strange rattle from the front wheels when the car is coming to a stop and also when I turn right in to a street. I've also got a windscreen washer fluid leak from the front left wheel arch at the bottom. I called roadside assistance on Saturday and they believe the rattle could be gearbox related and advised me to drop the car off to Henry Skoda north in Glasgow. I called them on that day but the service department was closed so earliest could drop off was today at 8am. I've been told that they can't look at the car till nextweek as they are extremely busy up to October. I asked about a courtesy car which they declined to offer me and the service guy said that's just the way life is and said nothing he can do to offer me a car. Is Skoda right in the sense to not offer me a courtesy car or is there anything I can do to get one off them? And he also said that I would need to pay for a diagnosis check of £115 plus the VAT if the faults are not under manufacturers Warranty.

A faint rattle when applying breaks
Yes both wheels were being spinned by a mechanic and you can hear that noise? When driven and on uneven roads, you can hear that same noise and a rattle.

A faint rattle when applying breaks
I've taken both wheels off and I couldn't see anything behind the disc and shield. I'm going to call Skoda and have car booked in. Could be something like you mentioned a stone or gravel stuck between the calipers.

A faint rattle when applying breaks
If I remove the front wheel one by one, am I looking at the plate behind the brake disc? If yes how would I know if that's the issue?
-
A faint rattle when applying breaks
Well I can remove the front wheels one by one and have a look myself tomorrow.

Hi guys. I have a Skoda Octavia HATCH SE L 1.6tdi 115 PS DSG 5E345D/C8AAV. I Purchased this vehicle in December 2021 used car from (Telford Skoda) with 17343 miles. I've currently done 37777 miles since purchased. My warranty expires December 2022. I've had my front left wishbone and two front shocks replaced in past few months. In the past two weeks now I've started to notice when I come to stopping my car, I'm hearing a rattle which sounds like if it's a heatsheild or something. I've had few independent garages who have checked my car but they don't seem to hear anything and when they do they say it sounds normal. They checked all joints and bushes and suspension and can't seem to find any faults. To me it sounds as if it can be coming from the DSG gearbox as when the gears are lowering down when applying the brakes, it's then that I heat it. Now when I was at the garage who changed my shockers and wishbone, they had my car on the ramp. The mechanics checked every joint and suspension, no faults found. But when they were spining my front wheels that very sound I hear was doing that when spinning the wheels with their hands. Again mechanic said that was normal. Anyone had any similar issues like me? Thanks.- Hello from Glasgow
