Haldex Failure
Sounding like a main dealer job to get to the bottom of it... is there an earth to check on the yeti? I can see there are on other haldex cars but nothing specific to the yeti.

Haldex Failure
yes both front wheels were in muck and spinning, off road engaged and tcs off: doing 2000-2500 rpm. Back wheels were on a more gravely mucky roadway. Video doesn't show it well but it was done on an incline onto a wet muddy field from a gravel roadway so i'd be able to reverse out of it.

Haldex Failure
thanks, the front right wheel was definitely spinning based on the slap of muck I got sticking my head out the window!!

Haldex Failure
I can't exactly say for sure but I would have thought up until relatively recently. It almost certainly did at some stage of ownership in the past 18 months. It had a main dealer haldex service about 9000km ago at 138,000km but they mightn't even check it's functioning just replace oil and filter and away with it It has had a full main dealer service history but some of it is in french and cant see any obvious mention of a haldex service... surely a main dealer wouldnt miss that. Thanks, I'll look into that.

Haldex Failure
Haldex doesn't seem to be engaging on my 2011 skoda yeti. Video is off car in off road mode with tcs disengaged. I'd imagine I should be getting some more movement out of the rear wheels if it was functioning? Don't seem to be able to embed videos and files too large but the links hopefully work. https://i.imgur.com/pqO0QuG.mp4 https://i.imgur.com/bJegKpt.mp4

Noisy Front Left Brakes
I did in fact put the outside disc in backwards…. Mechanic sorted it out. Small bit of noise ongoing the past few days and it’s the back left disc that was actually the problem.

Noisy Front Left Brakes
I put the pads back in and sounded worse if anything. I braked hard a couple of times today to see what happened, seems to be scoring the disc badly now, I'd say the front discs need replacing. They didn't seem near as bad yesterday which is strange, I can't imagine I put them in backways. Small bit of a lip forming. I'm leaving it to the mechanic tomorrow to sort out. Not exactly suprising, it had been sitting idle for a year with only occasional use before I bought it.

Noisy Front Left Brakes
I've notice a rough or grinding type sound from the brakes the past week, there appears to be plenty of wear left on the pads. I've powerwashed around calipers, cleaned the guides and used some copper grease to lubricate the guides. Looking at this photo does the bottom pad seems a bit glazed?

RCD330 Radio on a 2010 Elegance?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195218813274?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338956825&toolid=10049&customid=777_777_777 I was planning on removing the original bolero unit with something like this. I'm assuming I'll need an iso adapter and a different fascia to fit? Any other considerations or things to be wary of?

Yeti MPG
Improved since getting a new caliper. About 35.5mpg which is probably closer to 37 I’m assuming given the increased tyre size of the 215/65 r16 vs the originals. Still not great given I’m taking it fairly handy.

Yeti MPG
Just and update. Local mechanic took a look couldn’t see much catching that day. No improvement with dipetane and new air filter. Jacked it up myself as was getting quite hot some of the days. Brake is not releasing fully vs right as far as I can see.

Yeti MPG
main dealer serviced 5000 miles ago and full main dealer service history on it. Only 1000 done since on this set. 215 60 16 on it beforehand. Haldex due in another 10/15k miles.

Yeti MPG
Dropped it up to the mechanic for a look. It got very hot on the motorway yesterday, front left and a back left less so. Pulled into the service station and pumped the brakes/ handbrake. Wasn’t near as warm after that and very little on return journey.

Yeti MPG
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. Front left was still quite warm an hour or so after parking up this evening.

Jack it up and spin the wheels to check? can’t hear anything and the handbrake isn’t getting slack anyway

215 65 r16 wouldn’t be all that aggressive but was expecting a little drop all the same. marketed as a 70:30 on road off road Are your figures based off the computer or tank?- Yeti MPG
Very disappointed with the fuel efficiency from my yeti. It's a 2l tdi 140 4x4 dsg. I had hoped that fixing the dsg cooler thermostat would have helped with mpg but it's much the same despite the temp issue being sorted. I've put about 10,000 miles since buying it 5 months ago. Best mpg has been 39 taking it very handy with a few longer spins on the original tyres and worst has been the last fill 34mpg with the new yokoholma g015s - obviously not helping matters... It was typically averaging 36mpg previously I the rear seats removed its kitted out with some storage and my work gear but nothing outrageously heavy. All readings based on the tank, computer claims 39.7mpg over the past 2000 miles or so Have people had much joy with remaps and deletes to improve mpg or is that fuel efficiency pretty much par for the course?- Standard Engine Operating Temperature
thanks for explaining that lads, I have a dsg thermostat ordered, Skoda are looking for 280 so might give it a go myself.- Standard Engine Operating Temperature
There’s the physical gauge and then the one in the computer Ah I see, oil temp was running up to 107 on the motorway spin and coolant just above 90. coolant runnning less than 60 after a 13mile spin- Standard Engine Operating Temperature
Bought the part on amazon and waiting for it to arrive but starting to doubt I need it... I was on a 90 min motorway spin recently. Cruise control set to 130kmh. It was going up to 105/106 degree celcius on the digital thermostat, seemed a little on the high side or maybe normal? Still only getting up to mid 70s in 12 degree weather on a 10min 10mile run to work.- Standard Engine Operating Temperature
