  1. Don't have a sunroof. I do think its screen wash given that it basically smells the same and I have had to add significantly more back to the reservoir than Ive sprayed. It’s a constant drip (like 24/7) that really looks like it’s not meant to drain from behind the wheel arch and splash to the ground. Booked into dealers for a few weeks’ time so hopefully see.
  2. Thanks! Yes, I mean if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, etc. lol. If that's all it is, it's an easy fix I'm sure but at the same time it's not what you expect on a brand new car, is it?!
  3. Not yet - I've emailed the supplying dealer yesterday - they're in Scotland and I'm in NI - pictures and a description to show their technicians before I approach my local dealer here. I collected a little pot of the fluid and I'm 90% sure it's screen wash - it's clear but smells 'soapy' and slightly sharp as screen wash does.
  4. Hi, folks. Car is 5 weeks old Octavia VRS. Out for a 15 min drive, parked the car in parents’ driveway. Came out 3 hours later and looked like a dog had had a pee by the front - liquid trail from front left. Then I saw a steady drip (pic) every 4-5 secs. It looks and smells not unlike washer fluid and I thought it might be given it’s pretty much below the fluid reservoir. Unsure of how’s it got there. Haven’t used washers for 2-3 days and not been washed for 7 days. Suggestions welcome. First thought was some sort of minute crack on the reservoir or a hose worked loose?? On a brand new car it’s pretty rubbish, isn’t it?! The yellow circle shows the damp part. The drip had just started after I’ve got home again so it looks a lot less than it’ll be when I go back out.

  6. Where can you order wheel nut covers and centre caps from? Are they a standard fit or do you need to specify? Thanks.
  7. In my 2023 Superb you simply close the door and press the lock button twice. The red alarm light flashes briefly and then doesn’t flash again - job done.
  8. Which independent? I’ve not been impressed at all by MS Belfast. Made an appointment in March for heat shield/mat-thing recall. Got a call day before: don’t bother coming they’re on back order. We’ll call you. I’m still waiting in June.
  9. The question i originally asked was: are we aware of a shortage of heat mats? That’s why they cancelled. They told me this on the phone. Just wondering if this was the “real” reason , as they’d booked me in 3 weeks previously and then last minute rang to say. Maybe I’m old and cynical!
  10. So do you think they cancelled because they didn’t have the time? Not quite sure if this was a direct answer to my question lol
  11. Folks - I booked mine in at a dealer in NI. Day before it was booked in got a call from Service Dept to say don’t bother coming as the heat mats are on back order… Convenient? I’m an old cynic… Anybody else found this?
  12. Again, not quite answering but I ran my neatly under headlining above windscreen, down behind door rubber, under glovebox, and then up, along, and down to cig lighter. Barely see the cable except where it comes down far side of infotainment screen and even then if you’re looking for it.
  13. No, actually I’ve not tried it since the end of last summer so the heated window would probably make it worse lol
  14. Folks - found front dash cam easy enough to fit. However, why is the exact same dash cam make and model not sticking to my rear window of estate. Is it the heating element? I’ve tried cleaning the window; using a bit of water on the sticky pad, etc but to no avail. It does stay stuck for a few hours then falls off. Ideas? Thanks.
  15. Very common here in NI for armoured Superbs - liveried and non-liveried. The very thick ballistic glass is easy to spot, especially head on, as it creates a “petrol-on-water” effect on the windscreen due to the layers of laminate. They also tend to sit very low due to the armour.
