  1. Hi Mark i found a threaded plastic support that does the job the part numbers for the supports are all the same except for the suffix letter 3G0 803 899 B Is approx 100mm short hwever 3G0 803 899 A. Is just right. I obtained mine from a Touran 5 seater 2008 ish. Remove the end cap with the part no on. Pop in the 3G5 863 470 support pad and it comes to correct level. using the part no 3G0 803 899 A in eBay, they are readily available from a VW Passat for about £15. job is now complete. I’ll pop up some pics when I’ve learnt how to do it. Tomorrow is a different problem . Changing cambelt on a Ford Kuga TDCI. cheers Kelwyn
  2. Hi everyone who has been watching ,contributing to this thread. Just completed my conversion, you may be interested in my findings. Initially I found Mark Surrey's post on a different forum in Oct22 So as our vehicle wasn't being delivered until January 23, I thought I'd source parts in advance. Car is a 1.5 petrol DSG SE L 18" wheels I found a new unwanted, new, unused kit on ebay 57A 093 860A. According to manual supplied this is intended for a 4x4 with fixed seats (NOT VARIO) Fitted the kit last week without any issues, apart from trimming the polystyrene end piece as detailed by Mark Surrey. (Thanks Mark) Fitted a full size alloy wheel sourced on ebay (came from an Audi Q2) all dimensions the same as Karoq. Different look but hopefully we'll never need to see it again. (We holiday in Spain twice a year, and I didn't fancy being stuck halfway through France.) The wheel fitted exactly to the circumference and level of the foam inserts. The only outstanding issue is that the boot floor support is approx 100mm too short to support the floor. I assume that is because the floor of the 4x4 is 100mm higher than the 2WD ? I have sleeved the support with a piece of plastic downpipe, which works fine, until I can source the correct part. The 2 items for the support are 3G0 803 899 B (the threaded centre bolt with locking nut) It is approx 100mm long overall, and needs to be approx 200mm and 3G5 863 470 (the support pad) Hopefully This can be retained if I can locate a suitable centre bolt. Lots of variations available in the VAG range of cars, so it may need a trip to a local breaker. If anyone knows of a suitable item please let me know Cheers
  3. Cheers for that lots of info to read up on 😃
  4. Hi new SE L being delivered next week. it has 18” x 7j wheels I want to install a full size spare, not a space saver, I’ve sourced and bought the factory boot kit to fit in boot. It comes with foams, Jack etc, securing screw and new floor . has anyone done the same? And what donor wheel was used? cheers
  5. Good advice thanks
  6. Hi My much better half is taking delivery of her new Karoq next week. 1.5 petrol SE L. DSG with optional power tailgate. It’s hers (and ours) first Skoda, so I thought I’d get in touch with people who know Skodas and find out about bits and bobs as they arise. First stop will be questions relating to a Full Sized Spare Wheel. Cheers Kelwyn
