Sorry, a tyre query
We’ve had our 2020 Sportline 1.5 dsg for a few weeks and am very pleased with it. It came fitted with Bridgestone Turanza 225/40/19 93Y which I believe are the OEM option. I’ve never driven anything with low profiles before so am having to get used to the extra road noise and ride. However, Significant Other although not expressing any discomfort with the ride tends to point out every bit of rough road, pot-hole etc and I sense she’s no longer enjoying travelling any distance and that it’s wearing for her. To make her life (and mine 😏) a bit more manageable I’m wondering about swapping the tyres out for something that would provide a more comfortable ride. I’ve read a couple of the other threads on here but am really none the wiser. If I’m going to have to buy four new tyres, I’d rather not change the Vega rims as well. What are the easiest options. Has anyone been through this? Thank you

Karoq replacement key options?
Sorry, am I the only one that might be wondering why the thread is headed ‘Mr Steve Hoyle’

SOS emergency contact workshop
Thank you, that’s useful. We’ve noticed it come on over speed bumps, potholes, sharp braking, cornering more so than during ordinary driving which would suggest there could perhaps be something wrong internally or externally with the aerial. Will have to wait and see what workshop come up with.

SOS emergency contact workshop
Had the car a week now and this message is coming up in the dash intermittently. I’ve spoken to the dealer and been assured it’s a known issue with all VW based vehicles and the cars safe to drive. It’s going in to the workshop to get the problem sorted and I’ve been told it could be some hours so will be given a courtesy car. Am assuming it’s a software issue and an update will be run to correct it, hence it being in for a while. It’s also affecting the satnav which also points me towards software. I was told it doesn’t affect all vehicles but Skoda can’t identify which ones it does 🤔

What are these icons?
Thank you, mystery solved. Must admit that was the only thing I could think of; with hindsight if I’d left the mobile indoors and icons hadn’t been there I’d have answered my own question.

What are these icons?
On the top of the infotainment screen there is a battery icon as well as what appears to be the strength signals that you tend to see on your mobile. Had a look through the handbook and cannot see what these are for although I suspect they’re for something pretty obvious? Perhaps related to my phone which I have would have with me. Only had the car a week and think I’ve sorted out most of the other icons, these are bugging me 🤔 Thank you

Fob battery
Thanks everyone, must confess I’d not thought to see if the battery type was noted inside the fob. Will check, although need to pop back to dealer at some point to get a ‘badge’ fitted, the one on the steering wheel with Sportline on, seems it’s gone walkabouts between my checking the car on Tuesday and collecting it yesterday. Will get them to sort the fob. Add to this a couple of warnings that have appeared on our first trip to the shops, exclamation mark and ‘SOS contact workshop’ 🤔 And the satnav is all over the place - street names on the dash aren’t where we are, albeit they’re in the local area. All was okay until that error message appeared, co-incidence? Running the car in to the dealers tomorrow hopefully. Not an auspicious start to Skoda ownership 😏

Fob battery
Picked up the car yesterday, arrived home and the ‘low fob battery’ indicator appeared on the dash. Existing battery is a cr2025 yet believe it should be 2032? Can’t locate battery size in the handbook so advice would be welcomed. Thanks

1.5TSI or 2.0TSI?
We’re having to trade in our Land Rover this afternoon (big thanks to the ULEZ compliant Mayor Khan) for a 1.5 Tsi DSG Sportline petrol and having test driven that and a 2.0 litre diesel wouldn’t say there was a discernible difference between the two although I suppose in the long run the diesel would give more mpg although given the fuel price differential there’s probably no saving. Not aware of any cosmetic differences

Soon to be new owner, a question
Finally getting to inspect the actual car we’re buying later today, 1.5 Tsi DSG Sportline. We were after a 1.5 petrol auto, booked a test drive but when we got there the dealer couldn’t find the car 😄. Took out a 2.0 diesel. Subsequently went to a second dealership who did have 1.5 petrol which we took out. Unfortunately he didn’t have a Sportline so it’s having to be moved from elsewhere and it arrived over the weekend. Will give it a look over today and if all ok, pay and then collect tomorrow, when hopefully it’ll have been properly valeted .Will see if there’s anything I can squeeze out of them, full tank, spare wheel (may already have one 🤞) mats and so on. Can sense I’m going to be asking dealer a few questions about how stuff works and then spending time sitting at home with the handbook acquainting myself 😏

Soon to be new owner, a question
Thanks for such a prompt response. Perhaps it might be easier to take possession of the car first, see what space/depth there is in the well and make a decision then. In the meantime I’ll see what other threads there have been on the subject.

Soon to be new owner, a question
Hi, we’re in the throes of buying a 150 Sportline DSG petrol; originally drove a 2litre diesel and then a 1.5 SE Drive but not the actual car we’re buying, that’s presently en route from one dealership to another. So hopefully we’ll be on the road after Easter 😊 I’m aware the car comes with a tyre repair kit and obviously buying a space saver might be an option but wondered if it’s possible to fit a full-size wheel in the boot? I did take a quick look in the boot of both cars but didn’t really clock the size of the ‘well’. Wondered what other owners do in this regard? I’ve never previously owned or even driven a car with just a tyre repair kit and the thought of not having any sort of wheel makes me uneasy. Thank you

Hi from new owner
With many thanks to Mayor Khan, we’ve reluctantly had to start the slow painful process of moving on our beloved Land Rover and today placed an order for a Karoq 1.5 petrol auto Sportline which we hope will be as much fun as the LR. Hoping to collect in 7-10 days
