CrossClimates now covered about 100 miles, a revelation compared to the old Bridgestones, chalk and cheese. Happy driver and even Significant Other is happy 😊

Extended warranty for Karoq
As an aside, I was given a 24 month warranty when we bought in April but no related paperwork or booklets other than a policy certificate which shows little more than dates, registration and a breakdown contact number. For the sake of a couple of months I kept on my existing breakdown cover which is up for renewal in a few weeks so have been trying hard to establish exactly what’s covered by the warranty and more particularly the associated breakdown cover. But how much trouble is it for the dealer to supply?? Have emailed several times, been told “admin will respond” nothing follows, chased again “admin aware but working by herself and dealing with end of the month sales business” Frustrating.

General tyre query
I’ve had them on a Subaru Forester and then a Freelander and not been disappointed; unlike many I’ve not the space to store specific summer and winter tyres so these fit the bill perfectly. Coupled with the very good price through Camskill and their brand cashback offer until the end of this month it was worth committing myself now. The fronts certainly needed doing, the rears had life in them although when they were taken off, not as much life as I thought 😄 And they certainly look ‘more up for the job’ than the old Bridgestones

An update . . the CrossClimates are certainly a far better ride than the OEM Bridgestones they’ve replaced. Significant Other’s not been making as many comments in the past few days so from that perspective, a result 👍

Tyre fitters who do not mark your alloys (and those to avoid)
If you’re in the SELondon area, can thoroughly recommend Blackheath Tyres SE3 8SY. Had a full set of CrossClimates fitted and balanced by their two guys inside 30 minutes. (Tyres were bought off-line through Camskill who were offering them at a decent price along with a Michelin cashback deal). Have used them several times over the past couple of years, very friendly, very professional and at £18 a wheel perhaps not the cheapest but I’d rather pay that than go to the lads in the high street.

Did think about getting just the two, then the others in six months, but Camskill price and cashback offer was too good to ignore

General tyre query
The deed has been done. I decided to order four CrossClimates even though the rear Bridgestones still have a decent amount of life in them; will have a good look at them when they come off and post them up on here or that well-known market site. Bought them through Camskill, with carriage to my local fitters, £668 (the price had in fact dropped slightly during the week). Obviously I’ll have to pay to have them fitted but then that’ll pretty much be covered by the Michelin cashback offer of £60 until the end of this month.

General tyre query
Thanks everyone and apologies if the subject of mixing brands has been raised before; I did a quick search but couldn’t find anything. Think I’m of a mind to buy the four as they’re a good price with the cashback deal and perhaps if the Bridgestones on the rear still have any life in them stick them on the for sale section.

ok, thank you, not had a 2wd for so many years; that aside, any views on ‘mis-branding’ or should I just reboot all four corners?

General tyre query
Needing to replace both fronts within next few hundred miles but not wanting to stay with the OEM Bridgestones. Rears still have a reasonable amount of grip (my fitter reckons they’re good for a while yet) but wondered what the general feeling is about mixing brands? Michelin are running a cashback offer on crossclimates to the end of the month so am wondering whether to buy just the two I need and run mixed (new to the front, leave the rears where they are?) then replace the rears later on or replace all four now. If I did that, would there be any interest in selling the rears or do folk not buy used tyres? Hope that makes sense 😏

Quiet tyres for 2023 Octavia VRs
You only need to drive the M25 to experience the highs and lows of all road noise - there’s good quiet seamless tarmac sections, tarmac that has been laid in small sections which generate a regular ‘thump thump thump’ and then there’s the sections which appear to be brown concrete 😱 Sure these stretches are to make sure you stay awake

Headlights
Although we’ve had the car a couple of months now, apart from a couple of times in heavy daytime downpours, last night was the first time I’ve really needed to drive with the headlights on at night, returning home through some unlit country lanes. Very impressed indeed with normal and even full beam on occasions - lit the road so well, made avoiding the potholes so much easier! Top marks Skoda. The lights in the old Freelander were a mere candle by comparison.

Dealers exclusive invitation - anyone else?
I feel I’m becoming less and less exclusive by the hour. Having received the initial email and the subsequent text I’ve now received an email attaching the Driven magazine, offering everyone the deal that Kodiaq Sportsline referred to 😄

Dealers exclusive invitation - anyone else?
Skoda must like me . . .I’ve had a text message as well today 👍

Dealers exclusive invitation - anyone else?
I suppose it may be worth a look if I was in the market for a new car. Alternatively had we wanted but not been able to have afforded a higher spec model at the time of our purchase there might be reason to go along to see what the ‘considerable financial support’ packages amount to. Needless to say nothing of detail in my exclusive invitation. No mention either to free drinks and snacks

Dealers exclusive invitation - anyone else?
It seems I’ve been selected by Skoda UK and the local dealers for ‘exclusive access to an unprecedented opportunity . . . . ‘ to upgrade my existing Skoda. Seems they’ve been given unique access to over 300 brand new models available for June delivery. I have been chosen along with only a handful of others to receive considerable financial support in upgrading . . . . . . Reading that made me feel so special (probably because my surname begins with B so got picked out early 😄) and add to that the fact we only bought our car two months ago. Shame they didn’t want to throw all these incentives at me when we bought the car 😏

Start/Stop system no longer shuts engine off when stopping
Stating the obvious I know but don’t suppose you’ve accidentally switched it off? I was giving the interior a bit of a clean last week and didn’t realise I’d turned the function off until I set off.

Colour Choice
We’ve the Sportline in Quartz Grey - liking the contrast with the black lettering.

Karoq Tyres
Carlston, I’ve been following with much interest various threads on the forum on the subject of tyres since we bought our Sportline 1.5dsg with the Vega 19in rims a couple of months back. Indeed I’ve even started a thread on here on the subject. You're obviously very well versed on this matter but I’ll put my hands up, the more I read the more confused I’m getting 🙁. I’ve decided to stick with the existing Vega rims and wonder if I could just ask (once and for all) could I safely replace the existing oem 225/40/19s with 225/45/19 or 245/40/19 ? Looking for a bit of extra ride comfort and my preferred tyre would be the CrossClimate2 which won’t be cheap but I don’t like to go cheap on tyres. Apologies if this has been covered already in one thread or another but like I say I’ve just become confused on the whole issue. Many thanks

Karoq Tyres
Think we’ll be staying with the 19in rims - having found the ride to have been pretty unforgiving on occasions in our two months of ownership particularly over potholes, I did check the tyre pressures as suggested by someone and found they were all about 50psi 😱😱 so about 50% higher than required. The car was supposedly serviced before we picked it up! Any way, dropped the tyres back down to where they should be and the rides been far better (Significant Other not making so much comment about it so somethings clearly worked 😏) Will certainly be needing two tyres before long so will likely bite the bullet and re-boot all around with CrossClimates, possibly in the 245/40 sizing. Michelin seem to have offers on with the CC at the moment and it’s a tyre I’ve had on my previous cars without any issues.

Waterproof cover
I didn’t think there were any trees left in NE Hants, thought the councils had been chopping them all down 😏

A proper Grand Tour.
Have you seen the price of the Olympic tickets 😱

Infotainment system 😱
Thought it’d be unrelated, hopefully someone else will be along and enlighten me/us. Thanks any way. I had a Land Rover before the Karoq and although the infotainment system in that was fairly simplistic, it did what it was supposed to without all the faffing about.

This will make you smile 😄
Not if I press the red button she won’t 😂

No prices announced yet for the A/S 6 although suggested to be in line with the Weather Control tyre that it’s replacing
