  1. I’ve had the car about 5 weeks and only realised yesterday that it has keyless entry šŸ˜‚ No one at the dealers told me this when I picked the car up and so I’ve been locking and unlocking the car using the key fob buttons, which is what I’ve done with previous cars. But when I got home yesterday the car seemed to be playing up when I tried locking it - depressed fob, doors locked but then for some reason I double-checked the boot and found that it would still open. Assuming I’d not locked up properly I unlocked and locked it again . . . .repeat. Decided I’d leave the car as was and google the problem only to then realise that the keyless system was the ā€˜cause’ in so far as every time I touched the boot catch or door it would unlock. At this point the theme from the Muppets was playing loudly in my head and boy did Significant Other have a laugh. Perhaps I should have read the handbook more thoroughly, but hey no harm done. SO asked me today if there was any other buttons I’ve not found yet that’ll make the car fly šŸ˜
  2. Car went back into the dealers last week as I was getting an error message up along the lines of ā€œSOS call workshopā€ . That’s been resolvedšŸ¤žI understand by way of a software update which has cleared the message and rectified a few other minor satnav and phone problems. However, I am still getting a message along the lines of data transfer currently set to ā€˜use my position’ and I can find out what that setting entails and how I can change it in the control centre. How? I suspect this is ā€˜operator error’, unrelated to the other message, but simply cannot see how to sort it. Thank you
  3. Thought they did but not really taken the time as yet to check them out. I’d given thought to changing the whole set up but I like the vega rims so think now I’ll stay with the 19s and fit the CC
  4. I’ve previously run CC on an Impreza, Forester and Freelander and never had any issues; not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and I’d never scrimp on tyres. Looking at swapping to smaller rims and tyres is looking at being a real pita so might just stick with the 19s and fit CCs if they come in an appropriate size
  5. Or is it simply a case of checking out the design of a suitable rim and sourcing from a third party? Which I’d guess would be cheaper any way. (Tried to edit my last post but no go)
  6. šŸ˜‚ well I must confess I am. I’ve just come out of a Freelander and I know from fellow owners that they’d found wiring in place for certain items. Assumed it’d be the same for Skoda.
  7. @ SurreyJohn, is there a price list anywhere for the rims?
  8. Would be very surprised if every variant wasn’t wired to accommodate most add-ons, they simply don’t connect them if they’re not fitted. If a specific item is then ordered as an extra, it just has to be fitted, no need to get involved with messing with the wiring loom.
  9. I’m driving a 2020 Sportline 1.5 dsg also with 19in wheels and Interested that you’ve made no mention to how you find the overall ride despite the fact you say you have terrible potholes in the area. I’ve looked at changing to a smaller wheel but think the cost will be prohibitive and so I’m likely to stay with the current set up and just try to find a more ā€˜comfortable riding’ tyre. Would be interested to see which tyres you choose and how they ride.
  10. Thank you @ RCC49, AGFalco, Modders Must confess I’d not given thought to volume control - if we’ve had the radio on and Significant Other has made the call we’ve left the volume as is, the outgoing (or incoming) ring-tone has been at the same level. In the circumstances we’d have expected to have heard the callers voice (or vice-versa). Perhaps have another look tomorrow just to see if we need to adjust the call volume although can’t see that if the ring-tones ok why we’d not hear voices?
  11. Thanks CJJE, I have since found an older thread about this and it seems that VAG are aware of this but as we’re the only country that uses postcodes they’ll not likely update the way the satnav system works - it’ll highlight the centre of area accompanied by map co-ordinates. Others suggest, as you have, that it’s a case of inputting the address long-hand and if it’s a POI the system should recognise it. Very disappointing. Others use linked Google maps or similar such as Waze, which is fine if you’re fully tech-savvy. Sadly we’re not all youngsters šŸ˜
  12. It’s been about a month now since we bought our Karoq and the infotainment system is driving me mad. Perhaps it’s just ā€˜operative error’ having come from Land Rover that had a basic, yet workable system. My main issues - Satnav; why does every postcode location I input appear as ā€˜Off-road’ followed by a series of two numbers, possibly map references? Why will it not show the road name or location I’m aiming for? I’ve no idea if the location I’ve input is right or not? - Phone; I’ve linked my mobile, all my contacts have been transferred in ok. However if I select one, or there’s an incoming call, I cannot hear them or vice versa. I’ve toggled the hold call/microphone options, but still nothing. I’m sorry if these are such basic issues but I’ve looked in the handbook, been into the menu/settings screens but cannot find any solutions to either problem and quite frankly it’s making this aspect of Skoda ownership a nightmare.
  13. Are these still available? Size?
  14. You’re referring to the 235/50/R19 as a Kodiaq size. Would that size tyre fit my OEM Karoq rims? Am sorry that this is probably so straightforward for many to understand, but I am just so confused. Thank you everyone for your patience
  15. Now this is probably going to be a very stupid question but rather than fit smaller wheels what is stopping me fitting full size tyres to the existing rims? Is it simply a question of there not being space, or the rims aren’t designed to accommodate any other tyres but the OEM low profiles? I only ask since I was speaking to someone earlier today, explaining about the tyre issue and he said he’s had19in wheels as standard on his Mercedes with way less clearance than the Karoq and so it just made me wonder.
  16. Thank you SurreyJohn, useful detail šŸ‘
  17. Spoke to a proper tyre guy today that I’ve used before, a long established family business not your KwikFit wideboys, and his feelings were that switching to a 235/40/19 would achieve little and his advice would be to switch to say a 17in wheel with full-sized tyres. This would obviously cost more but if it achieves the desired outcome, it may be the way we need to go. Bearing this in mind, I had a quick look at the Skoda wheel booklet and there are 17in rims listed under all models. Would I be right to assume that any of these would fit my Karoq? Appreciate buying Skoda rims direct wouldn’t be cheap, it was more for getting ideas. Would also be useful to know, should there be any turn up in the For Sale section. There’s plenty of wheel suppliers about who offer suitable rims or rim/tyre packages.
  18. A slightly different question concerning the satnav, if I could perhaps tag it on to this thread. When I’m inputting a location in by way of a postcode it’s not producing an address but ā€˜off-road and numbers’. For example I input the postcode for Mote Park Maidstone, it gave me three such comments and sets of numbers. From previous experiences other cars I’d have expected such a large location as this to have given me either the main entrance or the centre of the park. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change.

They’ve gone now, someone on my previous car forum has had them
  20. I have a message keep appearing ā€˜ā€™Data transfer is currently set to ā€˜use my position’. You can find out what this setting entails and how you can change it in the control centreā€ I went into settings and thought I’d set up various options to clear this, but can’t now find them again. However, what I did get were email messages telling me that various services had been deactivated but these could be activated by going into the infotainment system. Appreciate I’ve only had the car a few weeks and these things need time, but there seems to be nothing straightforward šŸ¤”

Thanks guys, can probably get shot of most of the spare bulbs I’ve accumulated in recent years for overseas trips šŸ˜
  22. That’s interesting, thank you. I’ve run Cross Climates on a Subaru Impreza, Forester and Land Rover Freelander, obviously in differing sizes, and have been very impressed with them as an all-weather tyre. We don’t get sufficient heavy or deep enough snow here in the south east to warrant separate summer and winter tyres. Present tyres may have another six months maximum in them so will certainly consider the CC2 again, but in the 235 H variant. Might start checking the prices out before then, may be deals going šŸ¤ž

Where can I find a list of bulbs for my 2020 Sportline? Apologies for asking but still finding my way around the site (and the car šŸ˜„) and cannot seem to find a list anywhere; I’ve got a lot of spare bulbs from my previous car and wondered if they’d be of any use in the future
  24. No disrespect to previous contributors and those on the other threads but here’s a response I can understand šŸ‘
  25. Thank you, sensed that might sadly be our only option; disappointing, as I like the look of the low profiles on the 19in rims, but it’s more a case of keeping SO happy. My mileage is just over 19k and the fronts are more worn than the rears; suspect they could have been on from new, so may be in the market for new tyres all round within the next six months any way. Will see if anyone else has any suggestions šŸ¤ž
