  1. Happily watch motoGP although must confess I’m not a follower. Still intrigues me how they throw the bikes over at those ridiculous angles and yet they don’t fall over 🤔
  2. Not sure the time of day will make any difference 😂😂 I’ll get me coat . . . . .
  3. I’m getting used to the 12hour clock - was out in the car yesterday, I looked through the windscreen just as I got home, saw it was still light and indeed it was only 4pm 😄
  4. Well it’s just gone 9:30 and I reckon that you’ve already snacked on a pork chop, or sausages perhaps? Given your track record I don’t see you settling for a bowl of soup 😏
  5. Bought a straight- through exhaust for my Subaru Impreza many years ago from Hayward & Scott, they were somewhere in Essex iirc. That made a lovely noise, but then again the Impreza always had that great ‘boxer engine burble’
  6. Does it come with instructions so the cat knows how to remove it for a 💩
  7. TV presenters and voice-over people that can’t speak proper English by inserting extra letters into words - burgERlar, smuggERlers, WembERley Petty gripe I know but it doesn’t take a lot to speak proply (sorry propERly 😏)
  8. Not having a 24hour clock means I’ll have to look through the windscreen now to see if it’s daylight or nighttime 😂
  9. I like those Velcro ‘stop your shopping bags sliding’ thingies. Simple idea but useful.
  10. Despite the auto setting facility, which I assumed meant the clock would automatically update twice a year, it didn’t. So adjusted it manually and like OP would have preferred a 24 hour clock but that doesn’t seem to be possible 🙁
  11. There was no umbrella in our used 2020 Karoq, mentioned it to sales dept who said they’d source one. Which they did, but not the one that fits under the passenger seat, it was a bit big, so it lives in the door. Didn’t know about the torch, perhaps it didn’t come as standard on ours? Where would it live, perhaps it’s there and I’ve never come across it 😂
  12. Having had to get shot of the Freelander thanks to Khans ULEZ expansion I’d have loved to have moved to a Vogue or Discovery but getting one that was compliant would have been too costly; the other option would have been to have gone older but then there would have been the inevitable repair and maintenance bills 🙁 And there now seems to be a lot of these big 4x4s (RR, Hyundai Tucson as well) being stolen on a daily basis
  13. And odds on they spend money on mods rather than insurance and if they do pay insurance you can pretty much guarantee the mods aren’t declared
  14. There’s been an ongoing trend in the area for blue badges to be stolen - people smashing side windows, leaning in and away. Creates more of an inconvenience than anything else - getting window repaired (neighbour had to wait nearly two months whilst they sourced window for his old Hyundai) having to pay up an insurance excess, applying for a new badge (and couldn’t be parked in disabled bays in meantime) and so on. People now taking badges in at night or hiding them out of sight or even chaining them in frames to the steering wheel.
  15. 963 for my 2020 Karoq; only 637 for my old Freelander that I sold last year
  16. Brilliant, albeit not quite as I’d expected 😂
  17. I’ve a Sportline; not sure that you can
  18. My brother bought tickets last year for PK at London O2 for himself and his partner; believe the shows in June next year 😂
  19. On the day I drove the Impreza I pottered down to the dealers and he gave me the keys and said take it for a run. So off I went and my oh my the sheer acceleration was astonishing. It was a ‘standard’ classic 2.0 litre which I think ran at about 235bhp and I’d never driven anything like that. The straights were great and it even straightened out the twisties 🙂 The Granada was a 3litre but never had anywhere near that power. After a few years I took it to a very reputable guy near Swindon and had it updated to about 285bhp and it never ever missed a beat from that day on. Moved on to a Forester which came with the same initial engine. It was always fun sitting at the lights in either, next to your hoon in his Corsa or Escort, waiting to race you up the road, only ever to always arrive a distant second at the next set of lights 🤣
  20. Quite agree, a good game spoiled by a bootlace width. VAR has replaced common sense now, a man sitting in a studio hundreds of miles away, no emotional attachment to any game, making these decisions. And then when it comes down to the penalties the United keeper moving early doesn’t get picked up 🤔 Perhaps it was because the kicker blasted it over rather than it being saved, I don’t know. Regardless, United didn’t deserve their win.
  21. A lot of it was down to what I could afford and with hindsight I shouldn’t have touched a couple of them with a barge pole 😄 Still, you live and learn and over the years have had less issues with my choices. The Impreza still holds a place in my heart though for it’s sheer pace, road holding and that lovely ‘Boxer engine burble’
  22. Edit : Forgot my first transport, a Vespa followed by a Lambretta GT200 ! Then the four-wheelers - Triumph 1300, Vauxhall Viva, Datsun Cherry 120 coupe, Austin Allegro, Austin Maxi, Ford Cortina, Volvo big old estate model ?, Citroen BX14, Bedford Midi Van, Ford Granada Ghia. . . .then it all got serious Subaru Impreza Subaru Forester Land Rover Freelander Skoda Karoq
  23. Hope Simon got underway this morning. Wish him well over the next few hours, weather holding so far 🤞 Years ago there always seemed to be very elderly people out there ‘running’ for charity albeit it took them all day and being in my neck of the woods it gave us food for thought, literally. We reckoned you could walk/run to Greenwich where there’d be somewhere nice to stop for a proper breakfast. Toilet facility. Over Tower Bridge and on to the Isle of Dogs where there was that pub that always had the band playing, convenient time for a lunch stop and a beer. Toilet facility again. Onwards around the East End and on the return back towards central London find somewhere for an afternoon tea. Reckoned we’d be near the finish line at around the 8 hour mark, however, we wouldn’t feel hungry or needing that silver blanket or rehydration . . . .and of course it’d all be for charity. Perhaps another year 😏
  24. Not much going to be happening in a Fiat 500 😏
