Spoken to the dealer? The cars under warranty

Got shot of the Karoq in June so no further updates from me I’m afraid 🙂

There’s three Disklock sizes based on wheel diameter. Bought one recently for our Range Rover and it says not to buy too tight else it provides leverage to anyone wanting to snap the steering lock. The small one was supposedly ok for our diameter wheel but after allowing for the recommended wheel cover it was a bit snug. Unfortunately local Halfords only stocked small so had to go online and order medium. Arrived next day; if store had ordered in would have been a few days. Order direct from Disklock and they were offering 10% discount but were out of the size at the time. Found it very secure, very heavy but sometimes fiddly to unlock. I fit it overnight or if we’re parked up for a long time, otherwise for shopping I use a steering wheel bar, much easier

We gave up a lovely Freelander (👍 Mayor Khan) and I’d previously fancied the Jaguar F-Pace. Test drove a diesel, very nice, but wanted petrol which it seems are harder to get hold of within our budget. Then noticed the JLR dealer had taken in a Velar, had a look, test drive, all sorted, drove it home Wednesday. It’s a P300 HSE R-Dynamic with pretty much every accessory you can think of. And despite its size and weight, the 2litre motor apparently turns out just shy of 300bhp

Morning OP, we bought a 2020 Sportline in April last year. The OEM Bridgestones were a nightmare, picked up every bump and hole in the road, Significant Other spent all her time pointing out the road ahead, driving was no longer enjoyable for me. That was quickly resolved when we fitted CrossClimate2s, different ride altogether. Apart from that and a software update dealt with under warranty we had no issue with the cars functionality - decent gearbox, turn of speed,looks, panoroof . . . However, over time the high back seats took their toll and I found I was left with backache when I’d been behind the wheel for more than an hour. I’m 6ft1, 18st and regardless of how I adjusted the seat (and there’s not a great deal of flexibility available) I couldn’t seem to alleviate the problem. So we made the decision to sell a fortnight ago.

Thank you @NottsIan That worked, my name, phone contacts, radio channels all gone in one reset 👍 Had visions of needing to go into numerous different pages to remove stuff so that saved a great deal of anticipated angst

OP I’m just about to move my Karoq on and have a brand new Leadstand scissor jack that I bought from Amazon. Thank you @Gaz It’s been a good 14 months of Skoda ownership, a change from the Freelander we came from, but I can’t continue getting out the car with backache every time I been driving an hour. Going back to JLR with a used Velar P300 HSE R-Dynamic which hopefully should be as comfortable as, if not more so, than the Freelander which we had for many happy miles

Gone back to JLR and bought a used RR Velar P300 HSE R-Dynamic. Had a Freelander prior to the Karoq and it had decent comfy seats, driving position and gave us many happy miles so hoping this will do the same.

Hi, our 2020 Sportline will be going in p/ex on Wednesday. How do I go about clearing down anything personal that might be in the infotainment system? For example when the screen opens (or is it when I switch off) it says hello/goodbye and my name. Would there be any other details stored? And how about my phone and all the contacts? Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

After only just 14 months of owning our Karoq Sportline we’re off. Been a lovely car, enjoyed its looks, the responsive auto box, but sadly its been giving me backache when I’ve been behind the wheel for more than about an hour. No end of adjusting the limited settings the seat offers seems to have helped and so I’ve decided now’s the time to bite the bullet and move on. I did manage to secure a spacesaver for the car but sadly the dealers aware of it so am probably going to have to leave it in situ. However I did buy a scissor jack, still unopened in original packaging which I may be listing for sale as I believe the next car has one. Will see if there’s any other odds and sods I might have.

Back in the day I had a Subaru Impreza and wanted mudflaps on the rear that looked the part ‘wide and low’ in keeping with the cars style. Was pointed in the direction of IKEA (yes the Swedish store) who sold very flexible cutting boards which I had by local garage cut to our agreed size and then fit. Sorted.

Ironically we’ve had a Karoq Sportline for around 15 months and the drivers seat is beginning to take its toll on my back after about an hour. Tried adjusting every which way (although it has limits on how much) and it’s at the point where I’m looking at moving on to something else. It’d be a shame but can’t continue driving a car that’s making my back ache. Came out of a Freelander and those seats were great, but sadly deemed non-ULEZ compliant

What does your satnav screen look like?

Great picture in the press yesterday of probably 20+ buses lined up in the bus lane in Streatham or Lambeth and the other lane full of slow moving ‘non-buses’ . This it seems is as a direct consequence of LTNs in the area forcing all the traffic on to that one road. Apart any benefit the people who cycle or walk along those back streets might gain by way of less traffic, I’m not sure what the council are hoping to achieve, certainly not getting bus passengers into work in a hurry 😂
