  1. I have had a similar reply above from Audi. They say a software update which makes me think they are switching to INRIX. If this is the case then it seems new maps will also be needed or the location tables will not work.
  2. Just received this reply from Audi UK. We are sincerely sorry that your vehicle is not performing as you would expect as a result of the infotainment system experiencing a fault. Audi UK are aware of this fault and that it is impacting several customers, we are therefore working hard toward resolving the matter. After a full investigation of the fault, it has been determined that a software update is required to fix the fault. The software is not currently available and Audi UK are waiting for an update from the Audi Factory directly. Once the update is available, your local Audi Centre will be in contact directly to arrange an appointment to update your vehicles software. We understand that this is not your desired outcome. We kindly ask for your continued patience in this regard. Enter Write to Audi UK
  3. Still trying to get the Audi UK Facebook people to admit there is a problem. Just been referred to a main dealer for the fourth time.😡
  4. Well at least it seems that someone at VAG Group is aware of the scale of this problem.
  5. So in an earlier post when someone said Trafficmaster had stopped because it was "unsupported". It could be that the manufacturers they served had stopped paying them for the service. If this is the case then at least we learn something from it - don't buy another VAG car as they may turn off features without notice.😡
  6. Interesting reply from Here Technologies.. If you click on the link to customers they supply there is no mention of VAG Group and others. Neil, Thank you for reaching out to HERE Technologies. For more information regarding your In-Vehicle Navigation System questions, please visit navigation.com.
  7. We also need more owners complaining to VAG Group and other manufacturers to get them to take this matter seriously.
  8. Tell the exec that MMI3 units and RNSE ones also have lost the TMC feature on Audi vehicles, all part of the same VAG group.
  9. It seems we will be waiting a long time for VAG as they seem reluctant to admit there is an issue. Their last reply said the service was not available for my car. Well it was until about two months ago.
  10. Incredible that eight major motor manufacturers have allowed this to happen.
  11. Does anyone know who actually uses the INRIX service that is broadcast at the moment? Seems a bit pointless to broadcast a service that people do not or can not access.
  12. I think they are well aware of the solution but don't want to spend any money on it even though it means thousands of owners being left without a fully functioning navigation unit.
  13. Maybe there is still hope then. I agree with you but I am just fed up of going around in circles with them. They say there is no solution for my car but there are much newer cars with exactly the same problem which is simply being unable to react to the INRIX data feed over FM radio. It seems to me that the firmware needs a tweak and new maps need to include INRIX location tables making. I saw a post on here where someone altered their firmware to receive INRIX and got the messages back. Sadly because their maps had Trafficmaster tables it gave incorrect information so it can be done if the maps contain the INRIX tables.
  14. Latest reply from Audi. Looks like we are all stuffed as they will not do a deal with INRIX which we all know will sort the problem😡 Dear Mr. Powell, We hope this e-mail finds you well. 15. Have mailed them so lets see if they are aware of it.
  16. This is what I have been telling my Audi contact but it is falling on deaf ears and I keep getting asked to see a main dealer. I have explained several times that the main dealer cannot fix the issue. They now say it is out of the scope of their Technical Department so if they don't know how or where the Dynamic Navigation info is sent from then it seems they just will not accept that there is a problem. Someone must make the maps for them so surely that should be Audi's first step to a solution.
  17. I have just Emailed BBC Watchdog maybe they will run the story.
  18. Have replied as follows - Dear Mr Constantinos. I am confused by your reply. I appreciate that this problem is not something that your Digital Support Team can deal with if that is what you mean. If you mean that your technical department cannot assist then I find that hard to believe. Once more I am being urged to contact a main dealer, a path that I have already explained is pointless as many that have this same problem have already tried this and found that they do not know how to fix it. Surely someone at Audi knows that the MMI and MIB units were set up to receive RDS-TMC over FM radio via the Trafficmaster service which now been turned off. The traffic information is now sent over FM radio via INRIX which has been tested and is working just fine. The problem lies in that the units mentioned cannot receive the INRIX traffic data and this is the root of the problem. One very clever forum member managed to get his RNSE unit to receive the INRIX traffic data. But because Trafficmaster used different location tables which are contained in the map SD Cards than INRIX the messages he received on his INFO button page were not correct. This is not a problem that a main dealer can fix and I find it inconceivable that I and many others keep being sent around in circles with no apparent real interest by anyone to accept that this is a MAJOR problem for VW group and other manufacturer car owners. The obvious solution is to get the Trafficmaster data reinstated somehow or to get this data sent via INRIX in Trafficmaster form. This would reinstate the Dynamic Navigation facility on the MMI and MIB units. I will repeat that this is not an isolated problem with my car and that a main dealer cannot reinstate the Dynamic Navigation which is only not working in the UK. Kind regards - Neil.

  20. I sent a similar Email to GB News in the hope that they would take it up but have had no reply yet.
  21. Sent to VW MD. Dear Mr Blume. I do not know if you are aware of this problem but it is affecting many thousands if not more car owners with built in manufacturers navigation units in the UK. It is affecting their performance on VW group, Honda and other manufacturers vehicles. It concerns a feature called Dynamic Navigation which reacts to traffic information sent by various FM Radio stations including Classic FM, Heart and Capitol Radio. The information received by the navigation units is used to advise the vehicles using it of any hold ups on their route and to divert them in order to avoid the hold ups. There were originally two providers of this service - Trafficmaster and INRIX. The Trafficmaster service which VW Group and others used was turned off around the end of March with no warning and has left users with no means of avoiding hold ups. Many motorists have contacted the vehicle manufacturers about the problem but have just been advised to go to a main dealer for an expensive diagnostic check which solves nothing. Several owners have done this to no avail as the problem is not with individual vehicles but that the manner in which the remaining INRIX service is sent is incompatible with the navigation units in their vehicles. This has been proven when other vehicles at the main dealer premises have been found by technicians to have the same problem. I personally have complained to Audi about this as my navigation no longer has this feature and had the same unhelpful response. The lack of this feature can only lead to longer tailbacks at incidents and therefore more air pollution. The manufacturers seem reluctant to accept that they have a problem and even more reluctant to fix it so I thought I would inform you personally of the situation. I have added links to some on line forums in order that you can see the frustration being caused by this issue. It seems that a solution needs to be found perhaps by INRIX sending the data to the affected vehicles by using the Trafficmaster location tables. I will add that this RDS-TMC problem is only affecting the UK as people who have been to France in their vehicles say everything works fine there. If you would like more information on this feel free to Email me at *****@*****.tld or call 01538360343 and I will be happy to help. Kind regards - Neil. 22. I have just sent an Email to the GB News TV Channel highlighting our problem. Worth a try to get some extra coverage.
  23. There is now a thread on Honest John from VW owners having the same problem - https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/180432/vw---tmc-not-working
  24. It will not be good for manufacturers hoping people will continue to buy their cars when features can be "turned off" without any consideration of present owners. Lets hope they wise up and find a solution.
