  1. What year is your 245? Does it have a GPF? If no gpf then you could go for a resonator delete. That's what I've done and I'm very happy with the sound now.
  2. It's all personal choice in my opinion. Some people won't touch it with a bargepole, others will prefer a diy serviced car. I've recently completed my first diy service on my 2017 245, which I plan on running it until it dies. I know everything has been done, I have receipts to prove everything that has been changed. If it was a new car that I was going to trade in after a few years then I'd stick with a garage service history personally, but if its a car you love and plan on keeping then diy it.
  3. The diff does need servicing. I've just done mine myself, it's fairly easy to do if you're handy with a spanner. As far as the Reversing camera goes I've fitted the exact same one from Ali on my mk3 saloon and my current estate. Doesn't make a difference. I'm not sure if you can buy the centre console part separately (you probably can somewhere for a stupid amount) but unless there's really deep scratches it's nothing some cutting compound and either a mini polisher or some elbow grease can't fix.
  4. Kopacek sell them.
  5. Yeah I have. Pretty straight forward to fit. Pretty much a case of take the old one off, fitting is reverse. There is a video on YouTube of an installation, it's in German but it gets the point across.
  6. Thinking about getting some new shocks to match the H&R springs. I was looking at the bilstein B8's but came across these koni str.t, they've got some decent feedback online and for a very reasonable price. Can anyone confirm If these will fit my 2017 fl 245 estate? https://www.larkspeed.com/koni-strt-shock-absorber-kit-1566609/#description
  7. I'm considering the r600 and maybe just get the lid Hydro dipped. I aren't paying over £300 just for a carbon lid 🤣
  8. I'm currently running the pikey r600 airbox mod (snow grate removed, air scoop blanking plate, and intake side of scoop opened up, with an mst turbo elbow and intake pipe). I've always said I didn't want or need an aftermarket intake but it seems now I do 🤣. I'm torn between the Racingline r600 and the Forge carbon fibre. Going purely based off looks I'm leaning heavily towards Forge. I've seen several flow tests that show the Forge flows slightly better than the R600. Anybody had either or both and care to sway me one way or the other?
  9. @wirerthat's fantastic! Thanks so much. I'll give that a good read 👍👍
  10. At the end of the day, if you're happy then nobody else's opinions matter.
  11. So, went to the dealership today as my better half has finally decided to get rid of her awful fiat tipo and swap it for a very tidy Kamiq. I was having a mooch around at the 2 mk4 vrs' they had in stock, and now I feel as though I NEED the mk4 steering wheel in my life. I've got a manual 2017 fl 245. I can't find much info on anyone doing the swap other than 1 or 2 people in India. Surely it can't be that hard? Anyone looked into it?
  12. Never have paint protection from a dealer. They use inferior products compared to ceramic coatings you can buy and do yourself. If you're not that way inclined find a well rated local detailer to do it for you. They'll do a better job, with better products and ALOT cheaper.
  13. You'll find that almost impossible. There are screws in almost every section of the arch liner, and some would be very difficult to get at with the wheel in place. Even if you managed to get the fixings out you wouldn't be able to get the liner out past the wheel. Just buy a jack and take the wheel off.
  14. Just to end this thread, in case anyone else has the same issue the new pump solved it. It's easy to replace, just remove the 17 million t25 screws to take out the arch liner, then unplug the old pump and the 2 washer hoses. Then repeat in reverse.
  15. Excellent point. Never thought of that. New pump ordered, hopefully that solves it. Thanks
  16. I have considered this, just wanted to see if there's a way on disabling the rear washer via coding etc before I have to remove the bumper.....however then I think I can use the excuse of the bumper already being off to fit a honeycomb grille 🤣🤔
  17. I don't know, it's not a good thing though haha Yeah I though that too mate, trawled through it all but apparently not. I must of dreamt it.
  18. Anybody know if its possible to disable the rear washer jet? It's always squirted along with the front jets which was annoying, but know I've removed the rear wiper it's even more so!
  19. I got one from aliexpress, as have quite a few other members on here. £40 and its the best quality image ive seen on a Reversing cam. Takes about an hour to fit, pretty straightforward.
  20. Yep that's the one. Think I'll give that one a miss
  21. Hi folks, I'm currently driving a mk3 octavia vrs tdi and am looking to move to a petrol as I don't do anywhere near enough miles anymore to warrant an oil burner. The superb sportline 272 has really caught my eye. I've found one for sale not too far from me with with low miles and for a good price but after a online check the MOT history looks very strange, what would you make of this? One to avoid or nothing much to worry about?
