  1. Thanks for responding. All good. It’s a bit of a pain when there’s no consistency with this stuff. My Octavia RS wagon/combi is a 2011 so I presume that wiring colours changed over time. Not helpful when you’re trying to hook up a reverse camera properly. I’m just happy that I got it right in the end. Quite the head-scratcher. Cheers, Michael.
  2. This is incorrect as I discovered. The correct wire for the reverse light is black/blue on pin 2. Using the black/yellow caused the relay I used to buzz incessantly when the lights were on, only stopping when the brakes were applied. Just a warning for anyone who wants to hook up a reverse camera trigger.
  3. Hi. Could you please explain a. How you managed to feed the power cable from the camera to the rear wiper 12v feed above the left rear wheel arch. I have tried with no success to feed it down the d pillar with a small poly rod after getting it through the conduit from the tailgate. b. How you gained access to the area above the left rear wheel arch. How much trim needed to be removed and how did it come off? I have pry tools and all manner of other tools but it has me beaten. Then there’s how to feed the video cable with the yellow RCA attached to the head unit down the left side. Planning to go through the headlining then down the C pillar and along the bottom of the door channels. I’ve tried feeding the cable through attached to my slim rods but they don’t pass through forward whereas the rod by itself will. Thanks in advance from Australia. Michael.
  4. Was there any difficulty feeding the new cable from the mic to the HU? Just wondering how you went about it, i.e. route and any tricks to help feeding it through. Also where did you tap the 12 volt DC supply from for the 12 to 5 volt converter. I have ordered one from Aliexpress. Thanks 🙏
  5. Hi. I am trying to achieve what you described in my 2011 Octavia RS. Did you run a second cable from the overhead microphone to the head unit or cut and re-terminate the existing cable from the mic? I have located the mic cable where it connects to the connection block that went into the original RNS510. Not sure whether to cut it or run another cable from the mic itself. I have made up the circuit you posted and now need to find a 5 volt source. The rest should be straightforward enough. I would appreciate any advice you could offer. Cheers, Michael.
