  1. You can receive OTAs as long as your car has a white globe icon. Previous OTAs does not change the system SW versions and I'm afraid there is no way to see the update history. I aven't read a word about an incoming "big OTA" yet here or in the german community so I'm not shure if this was a legit statement. And even if it is - you can't be shure that skoda will stick to that "until october" roadmap. Many of us just updated their cars themself via USB method. Everything you need for this is documented in the "restart endlessly" thread here.
  2. Hmm I think the version gap is too big in his case.
  3. My old Octavia II did it all the time when I wanted to wash the windshield including excessive spiling across the entire front and hood leaving stains after drying. Well not all the time but at least every first attempt to use the windshield washer during one drive. Not really cool if the car has been washed before and you just wanted to remove a little insect massacre. Did that with manual cleaning from time to time in order to prevent ugly residues on the hood LOL.
  4. I think in previous models a washer light and a bigger tank was available if you had washers for the headlights (I think it was mandatory for Xenons). Not shure regarding the O4, never saw a warning but I use it very little and add the stuff occasionally.
  5. Due to many service visits I was able to drive different loaner cars with TSI engines (Golf 8, O4, Citygo). I also noticed that fuel consumption is going through the roof pretty easily if your driving style is more of the "agile kind". This driving-style related consumption range is way more narrow if I drive my Diesel.
  6. Lol, removing the engine cover take less then 30 seconds even for handycapped persons. Guess I would have walked in there with the cover in my hands to save them and myself the time.
  7. Yeah that's probably possible If the mib can't maintain normal operation, reboots and loosing it's handshake to other systems.
  8. For me and many others reboots started after one of the "little OTA" updates, 1896 worked fine for quite some time before.
  9. So far the link I got has been forwarded by me to: @qubec26 @4bellies @omadon@MikeAPW @Murdoch71 @Kaffekoekske@bero79 @darkdevil57@Melair Guess it's time to hand over the baton^^
  10. I don't think the MiB software has an impact of ACC and other assistants since most of this stuff is managed by discrete components. There might be an open TPI regarding optimizing the camera with a different service setting or software, can't remember the details.
  11. @omadon You'll have it in a minute.
  12. @Murdoch71 @MikeAPW Ciao guys, I'll send you the link and you can use it on your own risk of course. Anybody else still in need? I kinda lost the overview here^^
  13. @MikeAPW I think you have a different file / update, perhaps the navigation map data - where did you get it from?
  14. Shure, enjoy your vacation and don't brick your infotainmant^^
  15. I like the feeling DD a lot, got the McLaren V2 whee for it and an 8nm PSU (via Aliexpress, sorry Fanatec^^). The force is pretty impressive, I set the ingame FFB in ACC to 75% to avoid clipping but it's still pretty strong. I have this "budget" mod on my brake with a slightly different constellation:
  16. @Popovski Are there any unusal error messages in the VC before your MiB does a boot cycle? You wrote something about SOS module - it's a discrete piece of hardware and a possible cause. Once I had this issue: https://studio.youtube.com/video/_qUP6rMveFQ/edit All sorts of alerts but the airbag control unit was the only cause.
  17. No reboots on my end, too since isnstalling 1941 - can't say there is a noticeable difference (swiping through menues looks like 30FPS) in general performance compared to 1896 but I don't really use the built in features since AAW works better for my demands. Still happy with the sound setting fix and no reboots and didn't expect more. This car teaches you well in expectation management^^
  18. @stridercombi Can't you access the site at all or does the error show up at some point?
  19. If you can't decompress the file Just download and Install "7zip": https://www.7-zip.org/ I was going to shoot a little video, too about how to handle the update in your car but at the end of it i had to realize that I didn't hit the record button probably lol. All in all it was quite self explaining and took a little patience in some stages of the procedure.
  20. WTF sounds like walking the stairs in to some creepy attic..... Guess that assembly is made of different plastic parts not holding tight enough together. Hard to fix without knowing how to disassembling that stuff.
  21. That's quite a version jump, not shure if I'd go for it on my own risk. Better ask your dealer if they can get you up to date since they downgraded you in the first place.
  22. Well deserved, thank's for sharing it in the first place.
